There were two call-ups at the September 1 deadline as Owen Hunter and Frank Justice got some time in the Bigs with Texas and Tampa Bay, respectively.

School started so I have been inundated with crap. I have a couple of weeks done now and we will get back to it soon.

Every time I look in the Dynasty section I think about not finishing this thing. I started in the summer when I had lots of time but when school started time ran down. Then my coaching started and I had no time to do this with all the weekly stats and everything that took alot of time.

Anyway, it's Winter break time so I thought I would get some closure here- for myself and those that were participants.

I will run each season and write a brief synopsis of how everyone did until we all retire. We'll see who gets to be the first All-star and who wins the first World Series ring.

2004 Season Final

Lots of travelling. Started in A, hit .286. Sent to AA for 99 games and hit .309. Went to AAA for 10 games and hit .250. At the call up point went to the majors. Only had 9 ABs for the month. Thomas Rascoe, my nemesis, was traded to the Mets- I appear to have won that battle. Robin Witte, the very old Reds 3rd baseman, had a crappy year, hitting .232 in 157 games. My time should be imminent.

Finally the man at 3rd for the Reds. Had a solid rookie season but nothing to get excited over. Hit .286 in 158 games with 12 HRs and 86 RBIs. Scored 89 runs and stole 35 bases. Had a less than stellar year defensively but led the NL in doubles with 49.

That is an excellent idea and I had (eventually) thought to do it. Unfortunately for many of the now retired players, I had two problems.

1. With my limited exposure to the game, I did not realize that once a player retires, their card is gone.
2. When I figured this out, I checked to see if the players were there still and I kept the records page. However, I kept playing (by now I am actually finished) and didn't realize that whenever I opened a new records page, the old one updated to the new one.

Bottom line is I won't have some of the lifetime stat cards to post, but I will put in what I still have. sorry 'bout that.

Anyone uninitiated into the ITP world, one of the reasons Al is still kicking serious ass is that I get to purchase equipment with crazy stats on them.

Al has actually (and everyone else I assume) started to lose his base stats, i.e., he is not maxxed out anymore. This is more than made up for by being able to buy the following equipment:

• Bat- +16 contact, +17 power, +18 gap
• Batting Glove- +7 contact, -2 power, +6 gap
• Infielder glove- +23 defense
• Shoes- +21 defense, +18 speed

Combined with reading books to improve stats also, even though Al has started his decline, his stats for use in the game are actually higher than his max stat listed. We'll see how long he lasts. I also guess that computer players can buy stuff too, but I have no idea how that fits in.

Al has actually (and everyone else I assume) started to lose his base stats, i.e., he is not maxxed out anymore. This is more than made up for by being able to buy the following equipment:

• Bat- +16 contact, +17 power, +18 gap
• Batting Glove- +7 contact, -2 power, +6 gap
• Infielder glove- +23 defense
• Shoes- +21 defense, +18 speed

Combined with reading books to improve stats also, even though Al has started his decline, his stats for use in the game are actually higher than his max stat listed. We'll see how long he lasts. I also guess that computer players can buy stuff too, but I have no idea how that fits in.

If I knew how it would, but that would be cheating.

It may be out of whack, but I just played the game as written. It isn't a cheat to buy that stuff, just an unfair (sort of, I suppose) advantage.

Al Mighty

Al's contract with the Reds ended after the 2023 season so he had a choice to make. Lots of teams, including the Reds, were willing to give Al a 2-year deal at almost $7 million/year. Al could go back to the Reds and pad his career stats, but they were now a crappy team. He could sign elsewhere and maybe win another title, but have another team name at the bottom of his card. Al chose to retire as a Red and was rewarded with induction into the baseball Hall of Fame.
