aright, this is a SE view and yes the Ukranians are tour immediate southeast. I dont know f we could classify them as "enemies" yet, unlike our past history with Ostenaco (although he is thawing a bit since adopting Hindusim). Lemme know.

I also do not have definitive directions from our Defense minister as to an escort. He staed earlier to send a hypaspist but there arent any nearby, Im afraid (see above - listed units)

The archer is actually in Stirling with you now, so that is ready when you are to make a directional move. Regarding Ukraine, what you see is what you get. We can see their cultural bounderies, IOW where their language is spoken and where they seem to still share some influence even outside of whatever city limits there is BUT if you dont see a city there than we cant be sure it location, size, or other stuff regarding it.

We literally havnt narrowed down the exact location of any of their cities but they are an enormous and powerful civilization.

As noted, not my decision, but I would reccomend against it with another city so close to Stirling. If no other spot can be found, we can work on a mutal benifical relationship.

More specifically, I'm thinking about the spot on the river, right between the mountain banks, at the southern end. I'm a little worried that we're too close to the Ukraine, but I hope it's something we can deal with. I'll probably want to start working on a temple or obelisk to start with, and hopefully I can provided with enough power to defend the city.

It seems that Ukrainian influence reaches further than we initially thought. This may change your plans. Also, if you'll notice, along with CW that down there, to the South west a Ukrainian group of archers, escorts a settlement group that moves towards our borders. Those Ukrainians are grabbing land at a furious pace.

you'll feel in the dark about somethings because I set it up so that, unless you scrutinize the tech tree on the front page, you wont know what units are available until after a requisite technology is researched. So egg before chicken in that right.
