I address you now not as a Governor, not as Defense Minister, but as a citizen of glorious Scotland. For too long have we been penned in by our neighbors, the Ukrainians. For too long has our glorious destiny been curtailed by foreigners. For too long we have watched land that is rightfully ours be claimed by infidels. This ends now.

Upon the completion of three battering rams within our glorious Capital of Edinburgh, I hereby propose the immediate declaration of war with the Ukraine. I propose two main assault points: A push east from Stirling, and a push east from Edinburgh. Our primary goals are the capture and occupation of the two cities closest to those two towns.

Should the invasion go well, more land may be claimed. However, at this time, capture of those two cities is all I intend to plan for. I intend to bring the full weight of the Scottish Empire to bear down on the heathens. Should the first two cities fall, we will successfully have established a beachhead to conduct further operations, but until then, we must be on guard against a counter offensive.

As such, I leave 3 units defending Edinburgh and Stirling, our most open border cities (I think). All other forces will be brought to the front, supported by our soon to be battering rams. We shall beat down the walls of our enemies and crush them. Such major defenses are not necessary in our cities further from the front. They shall have a small force defending them, of course, but we cannot spare as many troops for their defense. Should it fall to them, we are already lost.

What say you, my esteemed governors?

In Summary - Plan of Attack

- Declaration after 3 rams built & moved up to the front.
- Assault Force "Tartan": Move from Stirling eastward, attacking Ukrainian city there.
- Assault Force "Haggis": Move from Edinburgh eastward, attacking the city we know of right there.
- Troop Deployment: 3 defenders in Edinburgh & Stirling, 1-2 in our other towns, split the remainder between the 2 Assault Forces (Assault Force Haggis will be slightly higher in number).

Fairly certain we have enough troops for this. If you vote in the affirmative, I will immediately begin shuffling troops to their respective positions in preparation.

Honorable and esteemed Coffee Warlord, while I ahve no doubt that you have thought this through I have to ask, is it not in Scotland's best interest to move these assault groups tot he borders of Ukraine before making a declaration of war? If word were to get out amongst the fields and blow east before we can arrive it may allow the Ukrainians time to muster a solid defense. I am a fan of the battering rams, but correct me if Im wrong, sir, but isnt their a contingent from Dunfermline that is headed for Edinburgh for further training? If that is the case have you considered the weight that the Edinburgh contingent would have as compared to that which would began their trek from Stirling?

also, during a war each movement could be critical so we'll be using a traditional number pad in describing moves, ie. 9=NE, etc.

stack attacks, bombardments etc. would need to be handled by your generals in the field you

I must ask, are we not being a bit hasty? There is still room to expand within our borders. For example, there is prime land for a new development to the west of Glasgow, and possibly to the north of Stirling. Should we not establish our dominance in these areas, controlling our own undeveloped lands (none of which, are, incidentally, in danger of Ukrainian aggression) before declaring war?

Your opinion is just as valid as everyone else's.

That said, my response: We have, I believe, enough troops for a fast assault on those borders. Those uncultivated areas within our lands will still be there after the war. If we wait till we're perfect for war every time, we'll be paralyzed forever. Now is, I believe, the time to heavily weaken our competition, at the same time strengthening our position. We break them now, force a peace on our terms, and later on, we can destroy them fully.
