I will always remember him as the grey-haired guy, that looked more like a coach than player, when I got into baseball as a kid. He visited the Pirates’ booth in 2019 and visited with Bob Walk (longtime mediocre Pirate pitcher and now color man), who spent his early with the Braves. He was super charming and knowledgeable about pitches and usage. It’s fun watching some of the old timers, who came up before sabermatics, talk shop. He was good-naturedly smack talking Walk, at 80, about how good Walk’s stuff was compared to his own.

I remember Bob Walk with the Braves. When he got pulled off the mound, he used to destroy the dug out. I always thought it was funny to have a pitcher named "Walk".
