Note to Self: Never attempt to match workouts with Chris Benoit.

Saw this in the Observer Newsletter..

Shawn "Khosrow" Daivari posted on his web site that when he was in Europe, he wanted to train with Chris Benoit and Rob Conway and they warm-up by doing 500 Hindu squats. He said the average person can do 20 before cramping. I'd guess the average person could do closer to 100 on their first try, but they'll be hating life at around 60. Anyway, he got up to 325 to 400 and couldn't walk the next day. Well, you are supposed to build up slowly. He said he couldn't bend his legs on the Raw show, but with the adrenaline, he still worked the tag match. He said he pissed red, puked five times and pissed a Dr. Pepper color. He found out he had broken down muscle fibers in his legs to the point they got into his kidney and was pissing it out.

Hindu squat. Start standing up, back straight, head up, chest up, feet hip-width apart. Feet point forward or slightly out—whatever feels good on the knees. Reach forward with your arms and then pull back as in a rowing motion until your fists are even with your chest. As you pull your arms back, inhale. Start to exhale and squat down letting your arms fall behind your hips. As you squat your heels raise off the floor so you are squatting on the balls of your feet. Squat as low as you can but do not bounce at the bottom. Rise up, simultaneously reaching forward with your arms as you inhale. The breathing pattern is opposite that of standard squats (without those rowing arm movements) and squats with weights. Throughout the whole squat keep your back straight. Repeat the cycle.

I did 40 just now. Yeah I could see how doing 325 of those would be gnarly.

I can't imagine professional wrestlers exaggerating the strenuous nature of their workout routines.

Was this guy sure it was Chris Benoit and Rob Conway? Could it have been their brothers? Or maybe just two guys pretending to be Chris Benoit and Rob Conway? And were they by any chance working out in a Chuck E. Cheese.

I just did, like, 500 of these things and it wasn't so bad. I, like, could do a lot more if I wanted to... This Shawn guy is a pussy.
