I guess when you've been there 31(?) times you can't win them all.

To be forced to go back 7 years in a different sport. I had no idea UCLA sports were in such a rut.

So, all 31 of Texas WS appearances came within the last 7 years? That's quite amazing!

(besides the fact that UCLA and Arkansas were never in the original statement)

Nice Double Standard we have Huckleberry. I expected it from someone like Imet, but not you. *shrugs*

UCLA sports in a Rut? You do realize that UCLA leads all NC's? They have more then most CONFERENCES do.

Hmm. Where did I mention the 31 appearances? (Hint: I didn't)

Speaking of true colors, what was the point of this thread? Trolling for what you got? I'm having a hard time coming up with a better explanation.

Try again?

That was exactly the point of that post. You're starting to catch on. There was no reason for a UCLA fan to make this post other than the one given above.

Can't say I see where I mentioned where you said anything like that? I figured since this is a sports board and people do tend to watch sports like College baseball, people would care. If I wanted to "troll" like Imet and others, I could have easily posted something of that nature.

Perhaps you shouldn't shoot off your mouth , especially when I live pretty close to Fullerton as is.

i live near baylor. i don't care about baylor. if they beat oklahoma in something i wouldn't suddenly claim that i care about them, either

texas now has a 2-2 record against fullerton this year. i'd just like to point out. i bet our resident csf superfan didn't know that

texas has elite sports all year long. football is the worst major sport, and when your worst team is winning 80% its games, thats not a bad thing. so we finished two games short, we'll be back next year

as far as me beign a troll, well i rarely make more than one post in a thread and i don't even post that much at all. just becuase i disagree with you special ed students a lot doesn't make me a troll. these threads make trolls

Ouch, a low blow at my ADD. Wow, you really are low class.

Baylor and Texas are in the same conference and in Division 1A. And to our resident College Baseball fan, it's CSUF, not CSF.

What would you define major? Baseball certainly isn't on the same level as football and basketball. If you are to include Baseball, you must include Hockey, T&F, Softball and a host of other sports that no one really cares except to those teams who win.

So when you responded to my post about a game in another sport 7 years ago by pointing out that our 31 appearances in the CWS didn't all happen in the last 7 years and said I had a double standard, you weren't accusing me of using the 31 appearances in my argument?

Do you just not know what a double standard is?

I'll reiterate the basic premise of the thread.

What does UCLA and Arkansas have to do about about Fullerton winning the College World Series? UCLA and Arkansas had nothing to do with the first post of the thread.

Oy.

Step 1 - HFP says that when you've been there 31 times, you can't win them all.

Step 2 - I make fun of the fact that you are using smack from 7 years ago in a different sport

Step 3 - You state that the 31 appearances haven't all come in the last 7 years, so I have a "Nice Double Standard".

Step 4 - I point out that I'm not the one who mentioned the 31 appearances, so that stat is irrelevant in trying to accuse me of having a double standard.

Step 5 - You still don't get it.

HFP -

Yeah Mack Brown is one thing, but the Longhorn baseball program is and has been one of, if not the best in the country for years and years. Anyone who rips it and watches college baseball is clearly delusional.

Personally, I think Horns fans need some thicker skin. When your programs are that successful, enjoy it. Who cares what someone in California, New York, Zimbabwe or Jupiter thinks? I swear I've seen this thread 342 times, with just a couple names or sports changed. They bash the horns because they enjoy watching the smoke come out of your ears. Really, why do you care so much? It's only sports, by the way.

Well, your first mistake is assuming that I'm upset. After that, it should all make more sense. I'm sure MrBug would agree, but this is just a message board. Baseball is just a game. Just because I care when watching a game doesn't mean it means that much to me, same as posting on this board.

I'm well aware of sports and message boards' place in a healthy life perspective. I have a wife and two beautiful daughters at home. Nothing that could possibly ever happen on this board would affect my relationship with them.

But that doesn't mean I'm not going to respond when someone uses faulty logic in a weak attempt to flame me on a message board and then ignores their mistake like it never happened. And my response doesn't mean I'm upset or even that I wouldn't buy MrBug a drink if I ever met him.

Keep going back before that....Then you will understand. Why does UCLA v Arkansas need to be inthe arguement? You can't have a discussion about College World Series unless your team was in the championship game?

You are having a really, really, really hard time keeping track of who said what. I never said that. I never implied that. I never said anything about UCLA vs. Arkansas.

I know who said what and so forth. it's not a hard concept to follow. I think part of your problem has been the fact you've thought ever single response was directed at you at one point. Which you've then quizzed me on why I said it and have created a whole mess.

I'm done with this thread though. All it was, was a simple comment on Fullerton winning the title for College World Series and the Texas fans turning it into a flame war.

Exactly. No one ripped it and I didn't rip it which is why Huck or imtg never said anything in response in the first place. So again, I have nothing to do with whatever your problem is.

I would be happy with 5 titles. TCU has never been to the CWS

I don't become suicidal if the Cowboys, Rangers, or Horned Frogs as examples lose. It bugs me for a little while and I'll get ripped by friends of mine who root for other teams. In fact for two of those examples I am pretty used to losing overall.

The only reason I actually said anything else in this thread is because Bug is including me in whatever his problem is for reasons only known to him.

Guys, read the quote above.

While Kyle shouldn't be questioning Texas' pedigree in baseball, he clearly wasn't trying to bait Texas fans (or Texas residents, HFP), but celebrate the fact that a good baseball team from Southern California just won the NCAA's biggest prize in the sport. And it's okay to like more than one college, too. In baseball, for instance, I still like the Dodgers, even though I avidly root for the Angels.

There was talk of a double standard here. Erroniously brought up in its own text. But the irony is that there was another double standard being exhibited that was conveniently ignored.

And that was the one you guys used on Kyle. You went full bore to criticize him on some of the statements he made, and rightfully so, because he was using a double standard, and not giving Texas baseball enough credit, and so forth.

But you guys completely ignored the fact that IMTG just stepped into a thread that had no mention of UCLA or Arkansas, after two of its known fans posted in the thread, and put in the above quote, just to agitate them.

Basically, he did a complete troll move, with the intent of starting a fight with Bug and MJ4H, and you guys completely ignored that. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I think there's enough room in your posts to condemn both Bug and IMTG next time, don't you?

Chief, those three can go at it for whatever reason, it doesn't matter to me. Bug dragged me into it by suggesting I was ripping Texas which is clearly not the case. He asked why Huck didn't say anything about my statement. My statement was a compliment.

You know when the college football forum was around if I had something to say about Texas football, I'd say it. Hell I love Texas football (next to TCU of course), it just drives me crazy with an incompetent coaching staff wasting a lot of talent.

Never once did I say anything negative about UCLA, Cal-State Fullerton, or Arkansas.

There is no double standard on my part, I am just setting the record straight.

I was merely saying that those ripping into Bug for his mistakes should also be ripping into IMTG for blatant trolling.

I can understand limiting your response to the specific umbrage you took from Bug, but considering his responses to everyone in this thread essentially drew from his response to IMTG, that makes IMTG's trolling also relevant, even to you, and worthy of your condemnation, in equal standing with a rip on Bug.

One of the two put up a main post that was trolling.

And the original pre-edited post was "Yay! Beat Texas!"

I'm like the American government. There might be oppressive dictators all over the world trampling on human rights and exterminating their own citizens, but I claim the right to pick and choose which one I'm going to deal with at any given time and then proclaim myself as a great humanitarian.

Yes, and that was while he thought the game was still going on. So he can't even root against Texas in a game now? You are indeed like the American government. You're like the Patriot Act run amok, only in the name of the Horns.

Fair enough. And I have the right to suggest that your criticism of Bug lacks weight and is biased because you turn a blind eye to as bad a transgression by "one of your own" that instigated the whole thing.

I completely ignored it because it was stupid and childish. And no, next time I will ignore it, too because I think that's the right way to handle it. You can learn how to ignore things by watching Texas and their second place trophy.
