31 o/u. I wonder if that's a record playoff low.

They give Washington 9.5? That seems high to me, but I guess it is a #1 seed against a #6...

Hoping for NE @ Indy in the AFC title game... and for the Colts to win it something like 57-3.

Pats haters are more prolific than Pats supporters. Quite ironic, considering the common complaints of said haters.

Belichick. That's what it is for me. But it gets even more annoying when the team with all the success asks you to come up with reasons why you dislike them. I don't really need any sound rational reasoning, now do I? I can just hate them just because I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. Or because I hate whoever ESPN likes. Or because it's sunny and 50 here today. Just because.

Under 31 chicago/carolina looks like a good bet to me. Those teams aren't going to be doing that much scoring. If Delhomme doesn't turn the ball over it's going to be 6-3.

The Pats will beat Denver. Jake will check his driver's license and revert to form. Brady simply doesn't make mental errors. Look for Colvin to get a sack or two and Watson to catch about six passes. Watch Richard Seymour plug ALL the holes. Hate us if you wish. On to Indy !!!

pish. I'll bet that the score is Chicago 1, Carolina 2. Horton will throw a touchdown pass so ugly that they'll just give 'em credit for the extra point.

Steelers' Porter doing a little trash talking before the game that the Colts offense is less than manly. My prediction now: Colt 80 - Steeler 3

Seattle 31 - Washington 20

Balanced offence gives Seattle their first playoff win since '84.

New England 20 - Denver 17

Vinatieri kicks a last minute field goal following a Plummer interception.

Indianapolis 27 - Pittsburgh 20

Tied at the half, the Colts settle down after an erratic first half for the win.

Chicago 17 - Carolina 16

Bears special teams touchdown and the holding Carolina to field goals wins the day.

Seattle gets a scare against Washington. The 'skins offense actually shows up and plays a close game until they score less points in the second quarter. In a shootout score, the Seahawks dare to allow a last minute touchdown, but stop the two-point conversiob to win by a small 37-32 margin.

New England warms up for threepeat in Denver. The Broncos' running game is amazingly shutdown and the forced passing game struggles. The Patriots eventually look warned for their next hurdle, despite a late defensive score boosting the score to 30-16.

Indianapolis comes back from a four week break and has trouble against hot Pittsburgh. The Steelers manage to play it close, but in the fourth quarter the Colts are all warmed up and turn a half time deficit of 9-10 into a nice looking 33-23 win.

Carolina struggles early, but bounces back and upset Chiacgo on the road. The Panthers need a late field goal to come back from 15-3 behind to win 16-15.

So let me get this straight. . . the Pats fans actions start and end on this board? I do know some snotty Pats fans. I think it's natural. You win a lot, people want to see you lose. Part of it that's always bothered me is the fact you don't have to hate NE to get thrown on the hate list.

Just say one negative thing about the team and wham, you hate their guts. "NE has had some fortunate breaks during their run. . ." YOU HATE THE PATRIOTS, YOU NEVER GIVE THEM ANY CREDIT, IT ISN'T LUCK, IT'S. . . The first statement never said anything about the team sucking, or Brady sucking or anything of the sort. It just said they've had some breaks.

The other annoying thing to me is many Pats fans fascination with proving Tom Brady is a living God and Peyton Manning sucks ass. Sorry. Peyton is a great QB who never had the defenses Brady had. Brady is a freakin unbelievable QB, one of the all time greats, a sure fire first ballot hall of famer and a guy we'd all love to have as our starting QB. But Manning isn't crap, he's not a horrible QB, and he will win a Super Bowl at some point.

Anyway, tonight shapes up to be a classic, classic football game. One for the ages. I think Denver finds a way to end the run, but it's not going to be easy and if Jake reverts to form the Broncos are screwed. The one interesting thing I'm finding while looking at previews of this game is the "weak" Denver pass defense.

It's not weak. It may get torched by Tom Brady tonight (because, well, he's Tom Brady), but the pass defense of the Denver Broncos is only ranked 29th because of yards allowed. Lets look at other ratings:

QB rating against: 72.2 (fourth in the NFL)
Yards per pass attempt against: 6.25 (fourth in the NFL)
Completion Percentage Against: 56.1 (3rd in the NFL)

Denver is only ranked 29th because teams have thrown more passes against them than any other team in the league by a wide margain. They've been thrown on 613 times, the next nearest team had been thrown on 580.

NE could easily win this game tonight. But if they do, it's more likely Dillon and Faulk gash the Denver defense for some early runs freeing up Brady to do damage down the field than it is Denver will just get torched by the Pats passing attack.

Going to be a fun game. Good luck to all of the Patriots fans, even the jerkwad ones.

I didn't think the Seahawks would have any trouble with thie Skins, but the line was about 3-4 points higher than I thought it would be. Potential upset brewing here.
