The Patriots are not allowed to cover recievers. That's been an NFL rule for a couple of years now.

How does the ref standing right there not overrule that call?

A side note: Where the hell was that play on 3rd and 4th and 1 earlier in the game?

Now, NE starts to implode?

I agree that PI was a bad call. Like Troy, I did think it was PI in real time, but on the replay it clearly wasn't.

Goddamn.

Normally this happens to other teams, not the Pats.

You know, I'm fine if the guy on the line calls it, but the guy in the back of the end zone with no angle calls it.

This is how I felt about it too.

Same as Troy, I thought it was a penalty on the live feed. In fact I was surprised the ref on the sideline didn't call it. The replay was clear, and I thought for a second the ref on the sideline was going to over rule that call when they conferenced. Didn't happen.

I don't ever ever ever want to hear from anyone that the Pats get special treatment. With the false start on the FG, the refs have spotted the Broncos 10 points.

Yes, that was embarassing for both of them. If that umpire or whatever his title is refs again in the playoffs I'd be surprised. I always thought the rule was, if you aren't sure, keep the flag in your pocket.

Jesus, jesus, jesus. The refs suck. At the most that should've been holding against Samuel instead of pass interference. And on the replay, it wasn't a foul at all!

The call was horrible. I hate bad calls and I hate it when my team ends up winning off of them. (and NO, I'm not saying Denver has won a damned thing yet, not even close)

The only thing I can take some sort of solice in is that Denver was the better team for that half. Watch the game and not pay attention to the score, and I think Denver was the better team.

The defense has Brady 100% off his game. He's not comfortable at all in the pocket or at the LOS. It's causing his passes to be off and he's getting battered. For ANY defense to confuse Brady for a half, it's a monumental task. The fact NE knew this was coming makes it even more amazing.

The downside is Denver had plenty of chances to make this a two or three score game and they may end up paying for that. I have a feeling the second half is going to be incredibly exciting. I'm just hoping this ends in a Denver win, not a Brady comeback.

Is it just me, or does the Patriots' center keep moving his head down and then back up right before he snaps the ball?

I thought Denver was by far the better team in the first quarter, I thought the Patriots were much better than Denver in the 2nd quarter until the Faulk fumble and PI call.

I thought it was pretty even. Both QBs look a little off, and neither team can really run the ball .

Some bizzare false starts in this game. Remember on the third down six for the Pats earlier in the game? Five Denver defenders stand up and point and the play is ran without a call. No replay there, but I find it hard to believe all five Denver players were wrong there.

The false start on the kick was also a bad call. In real time, I thought it was PI and I didn't see the false start, in hindsite, they were simply horrible calls. Beyond horrible.

I think Denver's win on field position is really what has them looking better than anything. Their running game is off, Jake was good for a series but he's cooling off now, the Pats have been awful inside their own 10. Which is probably the toughest place to play in the league.

Turning out to be the type of game I expected. Other than the refs, it's a good game.

Here's to a good second half anyway. I think the first half was looking like a defensive classic until the end and this game still has the chance to be one.

We so need a RB in the draft. Faulk's a good 3rd down back.. Dillon.. has lost the "explode" that he had

As far as the pass interference call is concerned, they made the call by watching it in real time. Of course it was a bad call, but lots of people probably thought it was interference in real time, just like the official did. What are the refs supposed to do? Look at the replay and change their minds?

The ref on the sideline about 10 feet from the play didn't make the call, the guy in the back of the end zone, about 30-40 feet away, did. And it wasn't a bad call, it was a horrible call, it should have been offensive PI for pushing off.

It should have been no call. the ball was nearly out of the back of the end zone as they crossed the goal line together. I thought it was defensive PI in real-time because it lookd like he rode Lelie out of bounds. Clearly, that wasn't the case on the replay.
