Please don't give me Temple/Michigan State....That's the March Madness equivalent of purgatory.

There seems to be a slight talent gap in the PSU/Kansas game.......Anyone who had Portland State as their Cinderella....well...probably goes to Portland State.

Me either. Even worse, I work until 6 tonight. I'll miss most of the USC/Kansas State game by the time I get home

Oh well, at least I'm off the next 3 days.

Edit: Just saw that USC doesn't start until 6:10 central!

Even if it's not blocked for me, I really can't listen in this environment either.

Plus, I find listening to basketball on the radio to be very difficult if you're not real familiar with the teams - let alone if you're trying to work at the same time.

Portland St. looks to be finished. Maybe they've got a run in them though.
Michigan St. is up 11 on Temple.
If you want an early upset and a good cinderella story, Georgia may provide that. They're ahead by 7 over Xavier with the 1st half almost over.

Georgia continues being absolutely inexplicable. Up 9 35-26 over Xavier at half.

A BCS team that went 13-16, 4-12 in their conference, had to win 4 straight games in the SEC tournament including 2 in 1 day, and are a 14th seed.

Still can't do it. Unless it was a school that was a perennial bottom feeder and managed to squeak in. Georgia's had too much success in the past for me...

I tend to agree. If Georgia played Xavier the last game of the non-conference season and beat them, it wouldn't have been a big deal. Just because there is a #14 by their name, I have a hard time embracing them as a cinderella team.

Damn, the firewall at my job blocks out the feed. I can reach any site on the internet, but certain types of files get filtered out. Apparently, whichever file format gets streamed from MMOD is one of those types. At least I can watch tonight and tomorrow since I'll be off work.

Being a fan of a team that gets beat during the first group of Thursday games sucks very hard. Last year, Stanford was down big at halftime to Louisville, and it was just like "All that buildup...and then *poof*"

If Georgia wins, it'll be a bracket-killer for me. I had Xavier moving on pretty far in most of my brackets.

It'll kill me in half my brackets, where I had them going Elite 8 for some bizzare reason.

My other two brackets, I was much more sane and had them losing next round.

Umm ... are we talking about the same school? My hatred of UGA aside, this is historically a mediocre basketball program, and that's probably being kind.

First NCAA tournament appearance was 1983, only 10 tournament appearances lifetime, only 3 tournament wins in the past 20 years, only 2 SEC tournament titles, only 2 sec regular season titles (one of which came in 1931-32).

1983 was a great run but other than that year they're 4-8 lifetime in the NCAA.

I guess the Tubby Smith years stand out to me since they were during my peak hoops viewing years. I'm not saying they were championship contenders year in and year out, but they seemed to be in the dance much more often than not...

Tubby was only there two years, and while he did get them to the tourney both seasons and had a sweet sixteen in 1996 as a #8 seed (beat #9 Clemson, #1 Purdue, lost to #4 Syracuse) they were one & done in 1997, losing to #14 seed UT-Chattanooga.

Perception & reality aren't always the same thing I guess

Xavier plays some damn good defense and can shoot free throws. It wouldn't surprise me to see them make it to the final four.

Xavier needs to use the whole shot clock each time down the floor here, they need to tire Georgia out on the defensive end.
