Now see, I thought Hitler would have been an inspired Diplomat pick before Otto went.

I'm still inwardly fuming over the Mill pick. I got cockblocked in category and nation by a pick that I think is inferior to mine. Grrr!!!

Do we really think that Ben Franklin is the best American scientist of either pre 20th or 20th+?

No, but I think people will see his name and think it's a major name.

There are aton of great ones and I bet the ones you are thinking of were among the others three specifically I kept going back and forth with. But, in the end I like old Ben's breadth of work as opposed to one guy who had one or two major inventions.

I think Franklin, because of his versatility is a great pick. Best scientist? Maybe, maybe not, but someone I'd want in my cabinet for the breadth he could offer.

It certainly wouldn't please the man, but Scotland counts as UK/GBR/whatever you want to call it.

4.7 Hammurabi - Justice Minister - Iraq - Pre-20th Century

When a nation needs to have a code of laws, who better to draw upon than the man who established the first code in human history? Some of the edicts might seem draconian to modern American minds, but that's what the other members of the Cabinet are for.

nice - i considered him as my justice minister, but i feel like he wasn't necessarily the one who like...conceived of all of them necessarily...idk - maybe i'm wrong about that though

I feel like we should have had a "thinker" category of which he'd have been perfect. Franklin would also have been strong there, as would many of the other famous philosophers/public intellecturals.

It's too shallow a category to risk it. There was only other backup I thought of just now after I made the pick and I would've scrambled outside of that. So yeah, took it while it was there.
