Just a heads up, the Hustle is not named in that matchup in the poll, just the band name.

Is Billy Joel's We Didn't Start the Fire a ripoff of Life is a Rock? Just seems extremely similar

I should have read this before voting - i didn’t vote in this matchup as didn’t recognise the band, but would have voted for The Hustle... NM!

No love for Rico Suave? C'mon people, it was Romano's walkout song in Gladiator (the one with Brian Dennehy, Cuba Gooding Jr and James Marshall).

Just to clarify, I didn't vote for the other so it's just a +1 to the Hustle, without a -1 for the other song

Not sure if it is a conscious rip off, he has always been open about mentioning his influences for different songs. New York State of Mind and Baby Grand were influenced by Ray Charles, Until the Night is his version of a Righteous Brothers song, The Nylon Curtain is his attempt at making a Beatles record, etc. In his interviews about We Didn't Start the Fire he has maintained that he wrote it due to kids/teens in the 80s thinking things were so bad, so he wrote the song to bring up major events after WWII. He wrote it as a rap, but since he is who he is, it has a melody to it.
