Field Goals

Just getting back into SP FOF. One thing I've noticed is way too many FG attempts. Had 9 kickers attempt over 40 in my 2nd season with a high of 45. In season 1 two kickers attempted over 50. Season high last year was 38 in NFL, but others seasons recently have seen 3-6 though.

Is this a function of the less efficient offenses?

Most likely. Red Zone stats are worth comparing. I believe there are different game mechanics at work in the Red Zone to normal play.

Also worth looking at the previous patch to see how that compares.

I compared to last year's NFL and the red zone points per visit was 4.85. My 2020 FOF season was 4.70. Total Field goals in NFL last year was 983. My FOF season was 1106. Also fewer red zone trips in FOF. Median team had 45 vs. 53, so perhaps more settling for FGs as well as less effective offense means less red zone trips. Also seems like teams get about 2 fewer first downs per game.

I think everything points back to less offense / scoring than what we expect vs today.

We just finished another season in the OSFL and both numbers are pretty much similar to yours:

That's curious.
