And while the girls at South Carolina celebrated the first title in school history, she felt nothing but positive feelings for her team comprised entirely of underclassmen, most of whom were on the team that managed to do the same thing in last year's final. Her fab frosh team was going to come back reloaded with a new coach and be prepared to do great things.
She hoped with a coach who she'd had some hand in influencing over the years. "I don't think they have to go to my coaching tree. But I have to say if they did, we've got an impressive array of candidates for them to choose from including the three girls on the bench right now."
Despite some who believed that at 1390 wins, she'd come back to get to 1400, she said that this was truly the end. The end to a career that few could've forseen from the outset.
She started her career chasing an all-time legend and ended up with a career that many will look to follow and find very difficult -- if impossible -- to duplicate.
