I got my dad a Roku for Xmas. Primarily for mlb.tv. When I hooked it up, the only games to view were 2009 playoff games. Is this normal? Is there some sort of cache function to add other games from the previous season? If not I understand. The quality on his 50" plasma was very good. Highly recommended.

I don't think that the ability to watch games from the season is there Steve. I only have the post-season on mine as well.
It will be worth it though when the season starts. Worth every penny of the package and the player.

I finally got to watch the last game of the WS yesterday. As a long term Philly fan for much of my lifetime it was sad. But watching Mariano just destroy bats and being ruthlessly efficient is just amazing. In many ways he is the perfect movie villain. May as well go to bed when he enters the game.

I have the free preview of directv extra innings right now but if they don't get this figured out by this weekend I guess I will shell out the $200 for Directv. I guess all the money probably goes to the same place so I guess they aren't that concerned about it. Would love to save a couple bucks with Roku though. |

It's borderline stupid that it doesn't work right now. It worked fine at the end of the regular season last year, i think.
It wouldn't be such a big deal but it was a christmas present for my dad, and it's already sat around for 4 months now. I just figured it would work on opening day. |

I just got my Roku on Friday. Haven't really used it too much, but I was pretty impressed by the quality on the HDTV through Netflix when it is hard-wired to the internet (I knew it was a good idea to put my router at the location of the living room TV hookup). I can't wait until MLB gets hooked up later this month (and I agree it's stupid it doesn't work now).

Luckily the channel is up and working now. It works pretty good except for some buffering issues I've had. Could be my roommate is skype-ing. Also could be peak internet usage in the early evening. Not sure. I'll be a little patient in figuring it out. But it's not too bad.
