Week 8 - We bring in an OT.

Almost everyone is visiting this week. Major people visiting us include a 100- QB from TN - 110th Nation, a 68 and 73 + RB, TE 86++ and 87th Nation, 66 and 71 + Ots, 100-- K who is 28th Nation, 91- K who is backup option, 198th Nation DE, 211th Nation DE from KY, 190th Nation Safety, 91- score. Tons of great players with high valuations, who all are visiting my campus.

I’m not getting the great QB, because he’s from Knoxville, and TN made an offer finally. So that’s not happening. Some of the others could though.

I swing by Oklahoma just to make sure I still want my WR candidate, and I like him.

If I can just get a few of these recruits…

In the meantime, despite being 6-0 we are not ranked. We are 33rd.

We are favored by 24 points and BEAT THE SPREAD winning 34-0 against IUP. OLB Wayne Shea is Mvp with 3.5 sacks, 5 tackles. Bernard had 6 KRB. McGregor had 100 yards and 2 scores. Walton and Mathis caught scores too. Lance with 3 picks though, yick. Gaynord had 18 carries, 113 yards.

WR Walton is banged to doubtful. We rest next week and I’ll play him the following one.

Week 11 -

We brought in WR and S.

We are now ranked #24.

“This week, the high flying Yellow Jackets of West Virginia State host Duquesne. Win, and the #24 Yellow Jackets will improve to 9 and 0. Can QB Lance Uremovic and the cast of State keep Duquesne down? Catch the action next on TV4”

We are favored by 21. Instead of dominating, we barely win 25-23. We scored a FG with 7 seconds left to win it. Gaynord is Game MVP with 17 carries, 182 yard and a score. Uremovic hit two of our guys for scores, and hit two of theirs for picks. Walton with a pair of scores Sinclair rocked 6 KRB.

Week 12 - No major news.

Week 13 -

We bring in QB, WR

We are favored by 17 on the road against Richmond.

We lose, 13-14. Luke Bishop is Game MVP with 3 sacks. Uremovic looked like a rookie with 3 picks, no TD. Gaynord had 98 yards and a rushing TD. Bernard with 6 KRB

Week 14 - We bring in an OT

I have 13 in, and I will be getting a FB. Now, is there anybody out there I’d like to bring in, at any
position?

“In Rivalry week, we have a new rivalry for the Championship Division but an old one for them. New teams Fairmont State and West Virginia State clash as both teams are bowl eligible, and each looks to add to their wins. Who will win the Battle of West Virginia? Find out today, on TV3”

We win 33-3. Uremovic is MVP with 26 of 34, 226 and 3:2. Gaynord, Johnson and Walton all have scores. Gaynord added one on the ground. Pick by S Dunlap.

Week 15-

“This week, on TV4, The 10-1 Yellow Jackets try to make it 11-1 against the hapless Temple Owls. Temple has had an awful year this year, but a spoiler win would add a little light to the darkened lantern. Catch out the action, next!”

We are favored by 24. We win 31-13.

Gaynord is MVP with 3 TD runs of 11, 1, and 68 yards. 16 rushes for 138 yards. McGregor with the other TD. Picks by Montez and Torres.

Week 16 - The Dixie Bowl

We bring in a FB, OG and DE to round out our draft class.

“At 10-1, #17 Troy has battled against inferior foes all season long, but established a reputation as a high flying offense. At 11-1, #24 West Virginia State has similarly battled lesser opposition for a fearsome reputation as a high offense. Which offense will out power the other? The WR tandem of Dustin Collins and Buddy Vasquez lead Troy against QB Lance Uremovic and the Yellow Jackets, in a clash of Top 25 teams from lower level conferences, trying to prove which is the dominant force. Next, only on TV1”

We are favored by NINE against the #17 Troy team.

Unfortunately, that is not to be. We lose the Dixie Bowl 17-27.

Uremovic hit Walton twice for scores of 21 and 5 yards. Stokes had 162 yards on 21 carries. Uremovic tossed two picks. S Dunlap had a pick.

USC crushes Nebraska 55-9 in the Fiesta Bowl.

QB from Georgia is the Heisman Winner.

This is a recruiting class. I brought in a ton of talent from the week I went hunting in New England. I brought in a ton of talent I targeted. These have a lot of majors I’m already good in, like Genetics and Metallurgy.

We have the 15th best incoming class!!!

That was a lucky class. I was lucky a lot of top talent wanted the majors I was good at, and I went after a few players again passed over by the big boys for a while.

We finished the season ranked 30th, with a 11-2 record.

Great season!

Warnings:

The following teams have been given a warning for not having enough attendance.

UTEP
Wake Forest
San Jose State
Ohio
Akron
Ball State
Northern Illinois
UNLV
Central Michigan
Kansas
Idaho
Houston

Teams that you thought would be having problems like Kent State, Eastern Michigan and Miami of Ohio are sailing, while schools like Idaho and Wake Forest are getting less than 10k per home game.

In our conference, Duquesne, Shepherd, Fairmont State, IUP, and Liberty are already over 15k annually in just three years. Richmond and Radford are having issues getting adjusted.

I am offered head coach gigs at EMU, CMU and Mississippi. Sorry but no.

OG Deion Bernard failed a class and is suspended for a year. Suck! A crappy WR senior got in a fight and is suspended for a year.

None of my staff leave me this year, so I take a look around and see if I can find any improvements.

I do hire new scouts for the Great Lakes and New England regions. I hire a new Syndicate Coordinator:

Drew Walton, 28, Academic Eligibility - Good, Investigations - Terrible, Alumni Donations - Excellent

I hire Akron’s Defensive Coordinator, and I think I may have found my guy for a while.

54 year old Cornelius Wiggins:

Yellow - Congeniality
Red - Play Calling, LB
Green - Inj Av, Rehab, DB
Dk Blue - D Line

Pretty good, with just one weakness on the D Line, so I need to bring in more developed people in the future for the D Line.

Scheduling:

Middle Tennessee rejects on offer for a home game UNLV offers us home and away, and I accept.

Marshall rejects an away and then home. Tulane offers us away and then home, and I reject it.

East Carolina rejects away and then home. I reject an away game at Syracuse.

Temple rejects an away and home offer. I was hoping to make either Temple or Middle Tennessee State a regular thing.

I accept an away and home offer from Louisiana Tech.

The West Virginia State Yellow Jackets, 2007:

Week 1 - at Louisiana Tech
Week 2 - at Kent State
Week 4 - UNLV
Week 5 - at Shepherd
Week 6 - at Air Force
Week 7 - RICHMOND
Week 8 - at Liberty
Week 9 - IUP
Week 10 - at Fairmont State
Week 12 - at Radford
Week 13 - DUQUESNE

That’s right, just four games at home this year, not a good schedule.

Okay, let’s look at my rooks:

QB Floyd Dixon, 20/100 - very red shirted
RB Lance Hutchins 35/65 - Already developing.
FB Wade Samuels 8/49
TE Jose Dickerson - 25/75. Red shirt, but ready for action and loaded for bear.
WR Joe Hoover 26/69 - Has better potentials than that though.
WR Jumbo Donaldson - 18/85 - very green, lacks over the middle and big play
OG Sedrick Metcalf - 3/57 - just a solid, green backup
OT Heath Hoover - 21/64 - solid.
OT Chris Younger - 15/86 - appear to have the same stats as Hoove,r but better on the scout page, weird.
K Bill Crowder - awesome, but red shirt this year
DE Dominic Adams - 16/66 - Not that good, backup and solid in that role very well developed already.
DE Renaldo Jenkins - 27/45 - Pass rush specialist, weak at stopping the run, backup material
DT Adam Boesinger - 19/50Potentials look a lot better, red shirt for sure
ILB Grady Shiroma - 17/63 Very green.
CB Rickey Gonzalez - 21/69 - Not that great, too inconsistent. Weak man to man, strong picks and zone, weak run D.
S Kim Dunn - 22/86 - Looks amazing

Starters:

QB Lance Uremovic - two years left for the man
RB Artie Gaynord - Not amazing, but solid. I could start Hutchins, actually, but lets give the frosh some devo time.
TE Billy Hutek - Fully developed all the way. He’s okay, but he’ll get edged next year by a certain Jose Dickerson, so enjoy your third year as a starter Billy!
WR Lionel Walton - Duh
WR Larry Harkin - He’s so inconsistent (35 big play, 28 over the middle, 13 3rd down).
WR Joe Hoover - With the inconsistency of Harkin, I want to start the true frosh to get a third great body in here.
C Darnell Aronovitch - Everybody‘s favorite C
OG Levon Sinclair - Very developed, but not great or anything
OG Marlon Glover - sophomore will start, due to the lack of my amazing hoss G to academic problems
OT Edwin Buchanan - Solid
OT Floyd Gidley - True sophomore, might get pushed next year by a developed higher potential frosh
P Todd Barber - senior, not great.
K Morris Lyons - Fully developed and decent enough
DE Luke Bishop - The hoss, the true sophomore, awesome
DE Daniel Beach - Beacj os okay, and a good enough starter as a stopgap, and much better than the players I started with, but he will be outclassed by my “backup only” DE soon.
DT Marvin Cote - Great
DT Ryan Wimberley - Looks great, not a lot of development (due to coach my guess is)
ILB Harold McWilliams - My best player at 66/100 rating
OLB Wayne Shea - Great first year, let’s improve on it!
OLB Dean Coffey - True junior - fully developed, not great at pass rush
CB Tracy Dunlap - Enhhh
CB Roman Mayers - Enhhh. I need a shut down corner
S Malcolm Thao - Once of my best players
S Kim Dunn - Just way too good to keep on the bench, the true freshman starts

Right now, with amazing linebackers, I am considering swapping to 3-4 in the future.

Positions of Need:

We are losing 18. Four of those are bereft of scholarship

I only have 13 scholarships to offer recruits

What do I need? A lights out CB. No waiting time on a bad one.

Here we go: QB, RB, backup TE, WR, C, OT, OLB, lights out CB, S

I could also use a second S and RB and OG. That gives me 12 players out of 13 offers. I have two scholarships to hand out to whatever I need and is sitting around.

We are considered to have the 9th best OLB starters in the nation.

We begin the season ranked 90th.

What are my money majors this year?

Algebra - 84
Art - 76
CompSci - 74
Differential Equations - 79
Electrical Engineering - 76
Genetics - 80
Geography - 80
Geology - 81
Kinesiology - 88
Metallurgy - 74
Trigonometry - 84

Let’s start with the WV recruits. There is a local S who loves me I check him out. He’s a nice 62+. Not good grades though. I find a few players in state that I like.

I’m going to go ahead and invite this S who loves me to campus and make a scholarship offer. It’s nice to know I can fill a roster spot without really needing to do any work.

We are favored by just 4 on the road against La Tech. What happens when we play?

We win 38-31. RB Gaynord is Game MVP with 26 carries, 277 yards, 2 Tds. Uremovic tossed up three picks (ick), hit Hoover for 122 yards and a score, and ran for a score. McWilliams with two sacks, Dunlap with a pick.

Week 2 -

My safety is already visiting us.

I swing by Virginia and then Maryland, and find a few recruits. I make a few offers. I then use my phone to pick up some RB talent locally.

I made offers to: QB, RBx2,WR, OG, DT, OLB, CB, S

We play and defeat Kent State in their place 22-19. Walton is MVP with 6 catches, 113 yards, and a TD. Uremovic tossed 4 picks. WTF over the last two weeks? Hoover caught a score. Backup RB Chustz got a score and a conversation. Coffey with 14 tackles.

Week 3

WR is visiting us this week.

I head up to Jersey and Delaware, and then PA. We have a bye.

Week 4 -

I check to see if any major players have been uncalled.
