Rice at Central Florida

We only score 18 pts in the 1st half! This is not a team ready for the post season. We trail most of the game but with less than a minute left get within 3. For some reason, Provost is the one that takes the game tying 3 pt shot and misses. Again, we're getting killed on free throws.

Central Florida at Southern Methodist

Danny Wilson puts up a donut, but Bright picks the team up by scoting 33 pts in only 21 minutes. Imagine what he would have done if he hadn't fouled out! Slaton came in for him and put up 13 pts off the bench.

Southern Mississippi at Central Florida

Ouch. We suffer another loss and now are in danger of losing the regular season conference title. Southern Miss matched us shot for shot through most of the game. However, they began to pull away late as our players got into foul trouble. Wilson, Nielsen, and Bright all eventually fouled out. Slaton hit a three to put us within four late in the game, but we were unable to get any closer. Guys? I recommend 10's on everybody's PFS training next season.

East Carolina at Central Florida

Three players foul out for the 2nd game in a row. This time we lose our entire frontcourt. Also, Provost put together a wretched game with only 3 Assists and 3 Turnovers. Bright valiantly struggled to keep us in the game, but our bench just wasn't strong enough to help him in the last 5 minutes. We have now lost three of four and need a win in our next game to clinch the conference title.

Marshall at Central Florida

Well we clinch the conference title but I'm still not pleased with how we played. Every one of our starters had at least three fouls and Marshall for to the line 36 times to our 16. On the upside, some of our backups are finally contributing good minutes.

We get revenge against Houston for the butt whoopin they put on us earlier in the year. Houston's big men are no match for Danny Wilson, who carried us with 20 pts and 16 rebounds. Without him, we might have had trouble, as the outside shot wasn't falling for us.

Southern Mississippi at Central Florida

Let me just say, wow. I have never before seen an ass kicking like we put on Southern Miss in the first half. We were up by an unbelievable 36-10 score. I wish I had saved the halftime stats. Southern Miss made a run in the 2nd half, but it wasn't enough and we walk away with out second straight Conference USA Championship.

After our tremendous performance in the conference tourney, we play sluggish in this opener. Despite opening up a 15-7 lead early, Eastern Illinois came back strong and were within one point at the half. The 2nd half as a battle. We led by as much as 7 and trailed by as much as 6. Iowa vs. Central Florida

This was a pretty close game throughout most of the first half. Everytime we tried to pull away, Iowa reeled us back in. The score was 40-36 at the half. Then came the deluge. We hit a few free throws, Moungey hits a shot from the wing, Bright gets a steal and then Provost decidces to step back and hit a three. Suddenly its a 12 point lead. Iowa called a timeout and hit a three to pull within 9, but that would be their only field goal for the first 12 minutes of the 2nd half. Over that time, we outscored them 26-3 and put the game away.

Central Florida vs. Cincinnati

Cincinnati never had a chance in this one, and that is almost completely due to the play of Justin Provost. Justin had a monster night with 10 Assists, 6 Steals, and 8 points. We actually got hammered on the boards (35-20) but the difference in turnovers was the key. We only turned over the ball twice, while forcing 19 turnovers by Cincinnati.

Stanford vs. Central Florida

After taking an early 1st half lead due to Vincent Bright's strong shooting performance, Stanford was able to close the gap and make it a 1 point game at the half. Once again, we jumped out early in the 2nd half, going ona 14-4 run over the first 5 minutes. Stanford wasn't able to close the gap this time. They could get no close than 7 the rest of the game, and we advance to our first ever Final Four appearance!

Kentucky vs. Central Florida

It was close early on, as we led 21-18 midway through the 1st quarter. Then something happened. Kentucky completely fell apart. The rest of the first quarter we dominated every facet of the game and outscored them 38-8 for a 59-26 halftime score. Any thoughts of a miracle Kentucky comeback were put to rest early in the 2nd half. Justin Provost hit a three, then followed that up by stealing a pass and taking it all the way to jumpstart a 10-2 run. The rest of the game was a cakewalk and we closed it out with a 100-54 win. Probably our most complete performance ever and it came at a great time.
