My schedule is too flaky to stay on top of a serial, I'm bound to miss an episode or half an episode. |

I am excited.
Last season's finale was superb!

Did anyone watch the recap show tonight?
Was the annoying writting on the bottom the whole time? |

That was the concept for this show it was supposed to be an "enhanced" version. Sort of popup video. |

It was definitely incredibly freaking annoying...plus, I thought maybe they'd give us something that we didn't know.
It was good for someone who's never seen the show, maybe, but to me, it was dumb. |

I believe that was the point. To get new viewership, especially since nothing really new is on against it. Besides, isn't Season 3 out on DVD for the fans of the show?

The pop-ups were annoying as hell, but GODDAMN was that an excellent episode. I forgot how good Lost was, but I've really been looking forward to it since seeing Cloverfield.

So tonight is what, a clips show at 8, then the first new episode at 9?
Oh, and for those who don't know, the writers had planned on 16 episodes for this final season, but only finished 8 before the strike, so unless this thing gets settled soon it's gonna be a loooooooooooooong cliffhanger there in the middle. And the annoying pop-up things were modeled after what G4 does with Star Trek. Partly to bring in new viewers, partly as a ploy to sell it in syndication where serials don't work and they need to attract the casual viewer. |

This is not scheduled to be the final season. Originally, the plan was to have 48 more episodes over the next three seasons (with 16 each year). I'm not sure what the plan is now that there will only be 8 this year. |

I don't know what you mean. Last night (Wednesday night) they re-ran the season 3 finale with some extra info running along the bottom to fill people in on what the heck is goin' on. Tonight, at 8, there is a recap show. It will probably just go over what's happened from the beginning. Then, at 9, the season premiere is airing. |

I thought your message was from yesterday saying the Wednesday Nights airing was new at 9PM. I didn't realize that the original message was written this morning. Me dumb.

I did like the episode, but it has me wondering if it's going to be similar to season 3 where they raise all these questions and never answer them.

I enjoyed the episode. I really like the flashforwards. The flashbacks had gotten pretty stale and were just repeteing a lot of the same stuff we already knew.
Do any of you know what show was on after Lost? I think there was supposed to be some new show, but I have no idea what it was called or if George Michaels was in it.

Casual LOST follower hear, but becoming increasingly addicted. My wife has been hooked from episode one, so I sort of caught parts from the beginning, and she's bought every season on DVD.
One thing from last night that I am confused by. Hurley in the nuthouse, playing Connect 4. Isn't that where he first learns/hears the numbers? My wife was adamant that this was a "different time" since the guy was there questioning him about, first, the Oceanic flight and then, if "they are still alive". I agree this was not the time he was hearing the numbers, this is after they are rescued. Am I reading too much into it that he: 1) in the nuthouse 2) plays lotto, wins 3) flies Oceanic 4) crashes 5) rescued 6) in the nuthouse like it's all a big loop?

In a way, yes. Hurley was in the nuthouse prior to getting on the flight/winning the lotto. The scene last night was a flashforward (post crash). It seemed to take place prior to Jack's flashforward in last year's finale (based on Jack's mentioning he's going to try a beard).

I wonder if it is Hurleys death that Jack reads about in the Newspaper (in the flashforward from last season) that causes him to go ape poopy and try and kill himself. Jack must be feeling guilty about something in regards to Hurley based on their Flash forward conversation. Curious to know how they are deemed the Oceanic 6? I was thinking maybe the people that go with Jack would total 6, but when they split up, I was confused.

I was thinking the Oceanic 6 are going to be the only people who make it back to civilization.
Jack, Kate, Hurley and three players to be named later. The flash-forward scenes will shoot that theory down inside a month if I'm wrong. |

When Hurley looked through the window (at Jacob's house), was that Locke sitting in the rocking chair? Also was the person who look back through the window and scared Hurley, Walt?
