Continental League Names Best Rookie
Wednesday, November 15th, 2180 The Continental League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award honoree has been picked for 2180 and the winner is Noblesville right fielder Jorge Márquez. The talented Millers right fielder took the trophy by hitting .292 in 162 games this season and finishing with 182 hits, 17 home runs, 55 RBIs and 117 runs scored. Top RL Rookie Trophy Taken by Villanueva Wednesday, November 15th, 2180 The Republic League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award has been given to José Villanueva of the Hartford Riverhawks. In the 2180 season the 23-year-old third baseman played in 161 games, recording a .319 batting average with 14 home runs, 79 RBIs and 82 runs scored.

Best Pitcher Trophy Won by Gothams Herrera
Friday, November 17th, 2180 The Gabriel Prado Award for 2180 has been presented and the Continental League winner is Jorge Herrera of Baltimore. "It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Herrera. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Gothams star told reporters. Herrera excelled with an impressive 20-7 record in 40 starts. In 255.1 innings he yielded 237 hits and 78 walks, while striking out 215 and compiling a fine 2.96 ERA. Richard Triumphs in Gabriel Prado Award Voting Friday, November 17th, 2180 A spectacular season out of the Hooligans bullpen earned Jay Richard the Gabriel Prado Award in the Republic League. In 79 innings, Richard struck out 79, walked 7 and allowed just 62 hits, while holding the opposition to a .215 average. He saved 45 out of 47 save opportunities, compiled a 8-3 record, and had a 1.59 ERA.

Gómez CL's Top Hitter for 2180
Saturday, November 18th, 2180 Fabián Gómez has been around Front Office Offseason League enough to know a good hot streak when he sees one -- and he got to see one firsthand all year. For his standout run through the 2180 season, he's taking home the Hideaki Tanaka Award in the Continental League. The Noblesville shortstop put up a batting average of .351 with 33 doubles, 6 triples, 31 home runs and 113 RBIs. Premier Batter Named by Republic League Saturday, November 18th, 2180 What a way to finish off the year -- being honored with the 2180 Hideaki Tanaka Award in the Republic League. It had already been a very special season for Colorado's Guillermo Sánchez, but today's announcement really put the icing on his cake. All season long Guillermo Sánchez gave opposing pitchers fits by hitting .337 as he collected 219 hits, 35 doubles, 3 triples, 29 home runs and 131 RBIs.

I needed SP quickly so went with a guy a guy closer to the big leagues. He's also LH so it plays better in my park. My park favors LH hitters so a LH pitcher will get those hitters out more often.

I hate how it gives away a pick assigned to me by compensation when I sign a Type A free agent.
By rights, I should have been able to hold onto the #9 pick, which I was rewarded in the first free agent sim, and Alan would have received the #14 pick for me signing Gamboa. It's weird the things that OOTP strives to make accurate but then they let a detail like that go through.
