Thanks, Alan! Facing off in a Classic against you always makes that Classic a little more special.

I made some changes to my squad going into the playoffs, as there were a couple players kept off the roster by the AI (long story, I needed hyde to help me with my season export yesterday) who were potentially key components to my team. There were also a couple others playing part time that really should of been playing full time.

So I think that helped me a lot in my series against ashby and then you.

Thanks to everyone for the congrats and good luck in the new and expanded FOOL offseason!

P.S. That series with Omaha, ashby, was intense, a lot of close games. It is unfortunate that it went the way it did for your team, because they definitely had control of things before my team came back.

I've found a good way to do the sim schedule. Here's how we'll do the schedule.

Friday 9/28- Protection lists due and regular arbitration sim. We'll go to the expansion date instead of the FA reporting date. Its only a 2 in game day difference.

Saturday 9/29- Expansion draft for the 2 new teams. Only expansion teams will be imported for this sim.

Monday 10/1 - FA sim 1
Tuesday 10/2- FA sim 2, spring training, and the draft
Wednesday 10/3- season
Thursday 10/4- playoffs
Friday 10/5- arbitration
Saturday 10/6- FA sim 1
Monday 10/8 and so on - back on schedule

They seem to be gone from mine as well. I wonder if the change in the schedule format caused it? The whole framework of the schedule changes. I'm not sure on anyway to fix it either. I just didn't think to look for this before the expansion.

Probably something to do with that. It won't matter much in the long run since the game doesnt keep splits beyond the current season anyways. So probably not something to even worry about

1. 25 players is what you get to protect

2. Everyone is eligible thats on your team.

3. If you intend to resign someone then yes you need to protect them also. Players will declare to be FA before the expansion draft. With the way offering contracts works now you'll know if they'll resign or not. There is very few times that a player will agree to sign a contract and then in the few days they "think it over" then don't sign.

OOTP isn't perfect in this process but the schedule is really difficult to manage with an odd amount of teams in divisions so we need to take this step to make it easier to deal with. Having teams not playing each and every series really isn't fair come the pennant races IMO.

I actually protected one of my FA to be that I think is unlikely I will re-sign but pretty likely someone will snatch him up in FA. I was afraid an expansion team would grab him for the likely extra draft picks (two draft picks for him), and would rather have them myself if he doesn't re-sign with me.

Just some food for thought if anyone else is in a similar situation. (or giving a possible strategy for expansion teams too I guess)
