I have never even seen a college fantasy football league.
I'm not even sure it would be allowed. I may be way off, but I think fantasy sights need to get permission to use the players name from the league. |

I know of a great site (CBSsports.com) who is running fantasy college football for free. There's also a number of leagues and options to choose. I play other fantasy leagues on CBS and they are of good quality. Enjoy...

I've played the last few years on CBSsportsline.com. They used to only allow you to use the team units. i.e. Notre Dame RBs. I think last year they went to individual players.

The challenge is learning how to stop people from trying to game the system.
For example, Tebow, Brennan, Bradford none would probably be in the ttop 10 QBs...but some kid from MTSU might be the best QB in the country...or when a RB from Directional Florida A&M State runs for 500 yards and 7 TDs in one gme there goes the season. I would probably make it stick to one conference, or at worst ONLY BCS conference schools |

On sportsline you can pick what conferences you use. My league was with other UConn fans so we only used the Big East and ACC for 8 teams.
You have to use at least 2 conferences. If you use all 6 and ND I can only imagine that the league sucks. |

On CBS, if a BCS school plays a 1-AA school, the stats only count 75%. That tries to equal the playing field.

I would be too.
What conferences should we go with? Should we set up a separate thread to see how many people we can get involved? |

I'd do it if the Big 12 was involved. I think SEC and Big 12 would be good.

I would say we should nix the Big 10 and Big East, just not great offenses.
I say the PAC 10 for excitement purposes. It would be fun to have some late performers that can come through. |

Maybe try to get 20 teams and use all the BCS conferences? Might be hard to get in agreement as to which ones you use. Id vote SEC and Big 12 but I would like the big 10 in as well. Also If you have room Id be interested. Last edited by jbergey22 : 08-18-2009 at 08:16 AM. |

I dunno I think that's what is fun about college. Sure you have 65 teams, but you may only have 10-12 REAL running backs in that group. Every NFL team has a running back that will get yardage, sure some more than others, but some college teams are darn near exclusively one dimensional. Really if you only have SEC for example, someone will have Tebow as QB and someone will have ...uhhh Vandy's QB...that is a death blow right there. |

Our league uses all BCS conferences but has two rules to keep people from gaming the system.
1. Maximum of two transactions per week. 2. If you drop a player, you cannot pick him up again later in the season. This prevents people from just trying to pick up players in their cupcake games. |

I don't think you can do just 1 conference. But IMO to do al 6 puts to much talent out there. Everyone will have a stud at every position. Part of the strategy is drafting a well rounded team. IMO |

So how many people we gonna get to play?
Each person picks 3 teams seems to be a good compromise. |

I am glad to see there is interest. I definitely want to be part of the league but I am going to be super busy this next week or so. Therefore im hoping somebody else can spearhead this thing and create the link on cbs.

Unless they changed sportsline you have to play with entire conferences, not specific teams from those conferences.

I went to set up a league this morning, first draft date available is 9/8 so I scrapped it.
