As is usually the case, my family's pretty much following up on Manny's bouts.
Haven't seen many of his fights myself.

Pacquiao looks like a monster duing weight in. Looks like he gained 10-15 lbs of muscle.
Oh and there seems to be some nationalism and pride involved in this fight. |

I watched this. I thought it was a great fight. Just when it looked like Morales was going to run away with it, Pacquiao comes storming back and just tires Morales out with his relentless attack. That and Morales' constant wars in the ring may have finally caught up with him.
Here's what I posted at the TBCB forums about it. Pacquiao TKO's a very tired Morales in the 10th. I never thought I'd see Morales actually dance away from an opponent at the end of a round, but that's what happened at the end of the 9th. I knew 100% at that moment that Pacquiao would win. Morales was just shot, and I think his career may be shot too. Like others have said, just way too many wars in the ring and they seemed to have caught up with him. Pacquiao, to his credit, went to the body more. He also was more active with his right hand. Instead of loading up on the straight left, a lot of the times he went in behind a right jab or right hook. He just fought a much smarter fight this time. First time Morales has been cleanly knocked down, and that was followed by the second clean knock down and his first ever lose as a result of knock out. I thought overall it was a very good to great fight. |

Sabotai,
Did Pacquiao have the better conditioning? During the weight in Manny looked like a beast while morales looked ''weaker than a little girl (probably due to trying to keep in the weight down.)'' Just wondering if conditioning played a factor, which I predicted would. |

It probably did, but Morales pretty much looked physically as he always has. He never looked like a very muscular guy, as apposed to Pacquiao. Morales' body type is more similar to Berrera, who never looks ripped either.
I think Morales' problem is killing himself to make weight and just a cumulation of a warrior's career. I don't think he can ever get back into top condition, even at a higher weight. Right now, his body just seems shot. Like an RB who carries the ball 35 times game. His body just runs out of steam after so many seasons of constant running. I think the same has happened with Morales, just too many hard battles in the ring. |

dola
and yes, there was a lot of nationalism and pride at stake during the fight. Filipinos love 3 sports... the three B's. Billards, Basketball and Boxing.
