Montés Crowned CL Top Rookie
Thursday, November 14th, 2171: Brooklyn fans have reason to cheer today as shortstop Francisco Montés brought home the Continental League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award for 2171.

He put together a .330 batting average on the strength of 208 hits and swatted 16 home runs. He also racked up 84 RBIs and scored 91 runs, signaling that this might be the beginning of a solid baseball career.


RL Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award Announced
Thursday, November 14th, 2171: Toronto's first baseman Mario Rivera is the latest winner of the Republic League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.

During his first year in the league, the 24-year-old Rivera hit .344 with 165 hits, 13 home runs, 67 RBIs and 68 runs scored. He also walked 53 times and put up a .413 on-base percentage.

Best CL Hurler Chosen for 2171
Saturday, November 16th, 2171: The Gabriel Prado Award for 2171 has been presented and the Continental League winner is Luis Sánchez of Cleveland.

"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Sánchez. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Cyclones star told reporters.

Sánchez excelled with an impressive 17-8 record in 40 starts. In 230.1 innings he yielded 210 hits and 53 walks, while striking out 211 and compiling a fine 2.93 ERA.


2171 RL Gabriel Prado Award Named
Saturday, November 16th, 2171: Mauro Anguiana had a terrific 2171 season in the Republic League. The Omaha pitching stalwart received the most votes and has been proclaimed this year's Gabriel Prado Award winner.

The Bees ace starred with an impressive 16-6 record. In 33 starts, he gave up 202 base hits and struck out 152 in 226 innings with a 3.19 ERA. Opposing teams hit .246 against him.

CL's Premier Hitter for 2171 Named
Sunday, November 17th, 2171: What a way to finish off the year -- being honored with the 2171 Hideaki Tanaka Award in the Continental League. It had already been a very special season for Napa Valley's Pedro Carasquillo, but today's announcement really put the icing on his cake.

All season long Pedro Carasquillo gave opposing pitchers fits by hitting .328 as he collected 214 hits, 47 doubles, 6 triples, 22 home runs and 102 RBIs.


Tim Durham Captures RL Hideaki Tanaka Award
Sunday, November 17th, 2171: Tim Durham of the Hammersmith Hooligans proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Republic League Hideaki Tanaka Award.

Durham hit for a .313 average while collecting 197 hits, 19 doubles, 1 triple, 37 home runs, 130 RBIs and scoring 96 times.
