I can tolerate Fouts and I'm not sure if CBS has a better "B" team than Eagle/Fouts. He's still substantially better than Phil Simms. I've been so grateful these playoffs for Tony Romo. I used to loathe the CBS games, simply because Simms is so bad. I think Nantz/Romo is my favourite commentary team bar none, above even Michaels/Collinsworth. Al Michaels is still great but I've found myself cooling on Collinsworth the past few years.

My hope in my professional life is that no one politely describes my work the way that announcers attempt to euphemistically describe Blake Bortles play

Two bizarre bizzare calls by Haley. Did they take the page with the QB sneak out of the playbook by accident? You have a 250lb+ QB and three all pros on the line.

This is like watching the Bengals have a lead in an important game.

How will they blow it? Because they will. The excitement is all in the how.

Except you mean Steelers today, right? Except your not actually cheering for the Steelers, but really, it's the Steelers who are blowing it.

I am seriously impressed with Bortles and the Jags. Great clock management, passing sometimes instead of three straight runs. This is a fantastic game.

Dude, I know you're not cheering for the Steelers. I'm saying that you don't need to worry, because your team isn't blowing it.

Having said that. No reason they shouldn't boo this team off the field at the end of the game.

After watching Bortles last week against the Bills I am surprised they had enough courage to let him play another game in that uniform. I guess I am not sure what the Steelers defense is doing this game.

This was clearly a game where the expectation should have been a solid, convincing win, ala the Pats. A season that ends again, with a fundamental failure to execute on offense or defense, and repeats past failures to advance in similar ways, deserves the boo.

Well, the offense has done their part for the most part. The Jacksonville defense is excellent. Why they cant stop Jacksonville from scoring is an entirely different story.

I'm not sure why that would be the expectation. I'll reiterate my comments from earlier... Pittsburgh's pythagorean expectation puts them around 10-6 while Jacksonville's has them at 11-5. Then you have to factor in that Jacksonville already went to Pittsburgh once this season and beat them rather handily.

The Steelers record was flattering to them. They went 8-2 in one score games, which is not sustainable. They also beat the 0-16 Browns twice by a combined 7 points.

Well, I had a deal with the Jags. I buy one jersey/year. It was a Ramsey jersey When they made the playoffs, I ordered another jersey. Telvin Smith. Then a Ngakoue one last week after they won. This time? Hmmm....Fournette? Bouye? Campbell? Let's do Campbell.

No team has ever hung 45 on the Steelers at home in a playoff game before, by the way

Me too, but no one expected the Jags to produce 45 points on a cold Pittsburgh day either.

Jacksonville is much better than Tennessee. The Jag finished tied for second in the NFL in point differential at +149 behind only the Patriots and Eagles. The Titans were a -22.

Jacksonville should also be able to do a much better job at getting pressure on Tom Brady than Tennessee did.

The New England defense had the second worst yards per rush attempt allowed which also bodes well for Jacksonville, assuming that Fournette is healthy. That's a big assumption though because he did not look to be running very well in the second half against Pittsburgh.

Obviously the big concern is Bortles versus Belichek/Patricia. I don't think the Jags need Bortles to win the game for them however, only not to lose it. As long as he protects the football, makes good decisions and completes the passes he should complete, then the run game and the defence are good enough for them to win.

While I think the Pats will win, I think the game will be much closer than people think.

In 2007, the Jags were the first team in league history to beat the Steelers twice in their own home in one year. David Garrard led them to a win in the regular season, and then dropped them in WC weekend after a huge scrambling drive at the end of the game to win. Today, the Jags were the second team to defeat them twice in the same year in Pittsburgh.

Booooo Steelers. Booooo.

I wanted to be pissed and upset next weekend, not this weekend, and you blew it!

Surely the expectation of your team, at home, in the playoffs, where they should have an advantage, both in quality and location isn't above board. The expectation that you can beat the Pats after losing to them by a few feet sets the tone, that you should face them again.

As I've said all year. This team is overrated. They are quite possibly the worst Pit team of the past few and clearly played more like a #5 seed than #2 all year long. The team seems to have lost its way, the loss of Shazier notwithstanding, at the professional level, even his loss shouldn't result in the team looking like a poor D1 school on that side of the ball.

The year is over. I'm not really that upset about it, I'm more pissed that the manner in which it ended looks awfully similar to the way it's ended in the last few years, and that's with a loss, where a glaring hole in the team was exposed over and over and over. I'm all for Tomlin keeping his job, however, I believe that he needs to adapt his style and recognize that his primary style isn't as effective as it should be and he should actively be looking to improve himself and his coaching staff.

Fuck the Patriots.

Go Jags. Go Vikes.

Oddly enough, Patriots were my school mascot for 9 out of 12 years in primary school, and that's over 4 different schools.

Fuck the Patriots.

Scott Hanson is over here in the UK this week, and while I have only watched Red Zone very occasionally (when the Dolphins have a chance of winning late and it’s not our main game - like I said, not all that often!), listening to him on the radio and watching him on the TV tonight, I’ll give it a shot next year. He comes across full of enthusiasm and a likeable person

Fair play!

Scott Hanson just delivered the following stat (just before the NO TD):
Since 2015 the Vikings are 28-0 in games where they have had a lead of 10 points.

That makes a 17 point lead look a lot, even when back to 10 pounts it’s a mountain to climb
