Otis Nixon comes in to pinch hit. He hit .227 during the season. The 3-2 pitch is ripped to left for a single.

Centerfielder Ty Cobb is up with a runner at 1st and one out. The first pitch is ripped down the first base line but Clark makes a diving stop, he flips to Lopez for the out at first. Nixon moves to second with two outs.

Brian Downing steps up with two outs and a runner at 2nd. Downing is 0 for 3 today. The 1-0 pitch is ripped deep to center. McReynolds is on the run, at the track and he has it just shy of the wall to end the inning.

Right fielder Hank Aaron leads off the inning. HE is 1 for 3 with a first inning moonshot homerun. The 2-2 pitch is grounded to short. Little has it and throws high to first but Powell has it and is back on the bag in time for the first out.

Third baseman Al Rosen is up with no one on and one out. HE is 1 for 3 today. The first pitch is driven to left, it's deep. Jones races back to the track, the wall, he can only watch as it sails into the stands to end Stamford's season. Game winning homerun for Rosen.

Wow, that was a pretty good game. I wasn't happy when the game started and I saw that both teams seemed to want to rest a lot of their starters though. Very odd choice by the game.

Good format. I was reading post by post since I was involved. But I was getting angrier as Stamford caught up and I realized half my team was on the bench. But it worked out.

Right fielder Hank Aaron steps up with a runner at 1st and one out. He gets a 3-1 hitters count and takes a big swing but pops it up to short. Reese is under it and makes the catch for out number two.

Sorry, going to be a little later tonight. Two things led to it. Since I got the green light to drive yesterday and my lifting restriction was upped a bit I said great I can do this, and this, and this and this....

Problem is this and this and this and this tired the hell out of me and I fell asleep after dinner (I think I had dinner first). Secondly, it's Valentine's Day so I should spend a little time with the wife now after sleeping all evening. Will post later tonight (early AM tomorrow).
