Werewolf CXXVII -- The Godfather, VILLAGERS WIN
Rules
Every day, the group will vote on a person or persons to lynch. In the case of a tie, everyone who is tied will be lynched. Every night, the bad guys will order a hit on one person. Both of these kills will happen at 3 PM Eastern. Depending on size, not all roles will be in the game. The traitors will know which roles are in the game. Good guys Vito "Don" Corleone -- You are the leader of the Corleone Family. As such, you are entitled to change the result of the lynch one time. You count as two good guys in the count. Luca Brasi -- You are the strength of the Corleone Family. Each night, you can choose one person to protect from being killed. You may not protect yourself. Each night, you may choose one person to kill. However, if you choose Victor Sollozzo, he will kill you, and if you choose Captain McCluskey, you will kill him, but be imprisoned (ie, out of the game) immediately. Michael Corleone -- You are the youngest son of Vito Corleone, back from your military service in World War II. You can order a hit on one person during the game, killing that person. However, you will be imprisoned (ie, out of the game) if that person is not Victor Sollozzo or Captain McCluskey -- but if Captain McCluskey is already dead, that risk goes away. You count as two good guys in the count. You may PM with Kay Adams and Appollonia Vitelli, with restrictions. Tom Hagen -- Good friend of Sonny Corleone, and adopted son of Vito Corleone. After getting your law degree, you became the Family's lawyer and consiglieri to Vito Corleone. Each night, you may choose one person, and find out if they are a traitor. You also possess the horse's head, which, when passed to Johnny Fontane or Jack Woltz, removes them from the game. Connie Corleone -- You are the only daughter of Vito Corleone. Each night, you can choose one person, and will find out if that person is Carlo Rizzi. Your vote will count double if it is placed on Carlo Rizzi. Traitors The traitors may PM each other, with restrictions. Victor "The Turk" Sollozzo -- A heroin dealer upset with the Corleone Family for its refusal to provide him with money and protection from the police. Captain McCluskey -- A corrupt police officer hired by Victor Sollozzo to protect him. Emilio Barzini -- A don of a rival family. Carlo Rizzi -- Husband of Connie Corleone. Each night, you may choose one person. If that person is Connie Corleone, then Sonny Corleone will die if he is in the game and is a good guy, otherwise Connie Corleone will die. Your vote will not count the next day. Good guys or Traitors Kay Adams -- Girlfriend of Michael Corleone, as well as second wife. You may PM with Michael Corleone, with restrictions. Sonny Corleone -- Oldest son of Vito Corleone, known for your large, uh, endowment. Each night, you may use it on one person, and block that person from performing any actions for that night and the next. You are also hotheaded and impetuous, causing your vote to count double. Fredo Corleone -- Middle son of Vito Corleone. Spends most of his time in Vegas, doing cocktail waitresses, two at a time. You are also weak and stupid -- your vote counts double if it is on a good guy. You may PM with Moe Greene. Peter Clemenza -- Caporegime for the Corleone Family. You possess the gun, and the canoli. These items, when possessed by the same person (other than you) will let you kill one person with no repercussions. May PM with Salvatore Tessio. Salvatore Tessio -- Caporegime for the Corleone Family, the smarter and savvier of the two. Your vote counts double if it is on a traitor. May PM with Peter Clemenza. Johnny Fontane and Jack Woltz -- The two of you are involved in a struggle over a part in a war film. Whichever one of you receives the horse's heed first will be removed from the game. You may PM each other. Moe Greene -- A former hitman currently running the crime scene in Vegas, you agree to take in Fredo Corleone and teach him the casino business, but you take the time to smack him around every once in a while. Your vote counts double if it's on Fredo Corleone, and his vote does not count if it's on you. Appollonia Vitelli -- First wife of Michael Corleone. You may PM with Michael Corleone, with restrictions. Phillip Tattaglia -- A don of a rival Family. If he is killed, one of his associates will extract revenge, by killing a random good guy. Items -- There are three items in the game. The horse's head, the gun, and the canoli. Each night, the item must be passed to another person. If no order to pass the item is submitted, the item will pass to a random person. Last edited by Passacaglia : 03-18-2011 at 02:49 PM. |

Awesome, I was just checking the sign up list today to see who was next, nice to see it rolling. And Godfather's a great idea, I was pondering a mafia based game myself.

May need to pass but I will wait until I see the rules to decide. Doubtful that I can commit to the deadline so it will depend on how much may require being on at that time. |

I say go with what works best for you. Many have said they like afternoon deadlines in the past so I would think that varied deadlines from game to game could be a good thing. Was looking back as some of the old games and reading the Draft game last week. That was an afternoon deadline and was one of my favorite games. I wasn't able to make a lot of the deadlines but absolutely loved stirring the pot in that one. |

I think a variety in deadlines is good. This might help some people, be bad for others. It's not necessary to be on at deadline time, half the game usually isn't.

I am actually fine with the deadline msyelf, but since it was a bit off the beaten path, as it were, from our usual deadlines, I thought it a point to bring up. Go ahead and count me in.

wow, lots of extra votes and extra kill mechanics.
this could be the shortest game ever i am in as long as no one has an issue with my above statement of having no chance of being on at deadline. |

So is it possible for the game to end in a draw (villager left who counts as two good guys and a wolf, both vote for each other)?

I'd like to give this a go again please.
The carnage means the game could easily be over by night four, which means that my usual night three meltdown will only make me useless for one day, which will be nice. And the deadline gives me a shot at being around for some of the votes (because that has worked out so well in the past). But seriously - a village role with night kill abilities every night? About six other kill possibilities? This should be Scarface or Reservoir Dogs. Or Werewolf: The Charge of the Light Brigade. |

I was thinking you could have a situation where you have one of each left (normally a 1:1 ratio meaning wolves win), but the ratio would end up 2:1 because of the villager counting as two. Unless I misunderstood something. |

It would be a 1:1 ratio of villagers to wolves (rather than villager votes : wolf votes).

Usually if there's a villager role like that (the huntsman or something?) they win if they end up alone with a wolf. |

I'll remind people, and especially let the new players know, that now would be a good time to empty out your private messages. The last game had a lot of PMs for everyone, and the last thing you want is to be a wolf and be found out because your inbox gets clogged.
