Alright Boyz, Here We Go... how did that start?
I’ve been a member for nearly 2 decades and I have never found the answers to these questions (I tried doing a forum search but turned up empty):
What started the old “Alright Boyz, Here We Go” thing when starting threads about new games? Also, where did “dola” come from?

Dola came from a user named dola who had a habit of multiple consecutive postings IIRC - that was before my time here (which must be close to two decades also).
Alright Boyz... not sure.

Hmmmm....a bunch of 2002 threads are missing from the archives, and that would have been OOTP4.

Interesting. We switched to vBulletin on 1/24/2003, it appears. A bunch of (all?) threads from 2000 and 2001 are available, but it looks like little/nothing in 2002 and up to 1/24/2003 is still here. Weird.

I'm pretty sure (though not 100% sure) that dolamite was also trying to make a point about how judging users based on post counts was stupid because you could make posts like this to increase your post count (each word being a separate post). |

It's a conspiracy. There obviously something in those archives that somebody didn't want seen.

That was right around the time we had that poster Hunter_B who kept bragging about how important his dad was and how much he loved China and committing treason. Whatever happened to that guy? He was weird. Anyway, totally strange that we lost those posts. Must have been a server move or something. |

trout /trout/ noun noun: trout; plural noun: trout; plural noun: trouts a chiefly freshwater fish of the salmon family, found in both Eurasia and North America and highly valued as food and game. Phrases old trout — an annoying or bad-tempered old person, especially a woman. Origin late Old English truht, from late Latin tructa, based on Greek trōgein ‘gnaw’. |

Pretty sure it was Fritz who started that: Which would be best for the US in terms of international reaction? - Front Office Football Central Best Mel Brooks Movie - Front Office Football Central Over time it was go-to final option on a poll, then the rectum part was left off, leaving us with just trout. |

The missing threads, was that from the time we had that huge crash that left the board down for weeks? I think I remember it was a problem with the database that was a major pain to fix.

I think that post count is a perfectly reasonable way to measure the worth of a person. |
