Any comments on this year's awards? Kind of weird looking to me... other than Sierra/Colon, alot of the "next generation" here.

How about Apex getting both the Tanaka and Prado awards despite not making the playoffs?

Super-rookie Velona of Napa Valley actually finished second in the Tanaka award voting as well!

Boston has no awards winners at all despite being this year's champs! (Linseman was runner up for Commissioner's Award, and Samuel was 3rd for Prado award though)

Thursday, November 11th, 2027: FOOL News: Free Agents File
Free agency is upon us.

Teams, players and pundits who follow Front Office Offseason League will be thrust headlong into a whirlpool of intrigue and uncertainty. The free agent signing period will continue throughout the off-season as some clubs will go a long way toward sealing up a championship -- or a spot in the cellar.

The magic, the unpredictability of hot stove baseball, is fascinating to the fan; particularly the fan whose team comes out on top!

This year's list of free agents is highlighted by these players:

1. Dave Long, 29 year-old third baseman
2. Richie Collin, 32 year-old right fielder
3. Pete Keeping, 29 year-old catcher
4. Shing Tze, 31 year-old second baseman
5. Mario Chávez, 30 year-old center fielder
6. Alec Linseman, 39 year-old shortstop
7. Erwin Silander, 33 year-old starting pitcher
8. Mark Chattaway, 38 year-old starting pitcher
9. Nate Wallace, 28 year-old center fielder
10. Joaquín Gómez, 29 year-old left fielder

All trades have been completed. Thanks muns for making it easy to find the guys by placing them on DFA. that speeds things up tremendously for me!

Tell ya what, there is a ton of talent in this years FA pool. I totally regret going into rebuild mode. Lol I cant seem to get it right

Good luck to everyone!! Im looking forward to seeing who is gonna go after who. I only offered up 8 contracts to guys that werent on my team, so I wont be much of a player this year FA wise so thats money people dont have to worry about.

I have money because Alan is awesome.

Also, I will miss #3 on that FA list!

Also, having a "super-rookie" just sounds cool.

Overall, pretty thrilled about FA. Got all of my targets, including Blackmore and Chattaway, and only missed out on Ren to Napa Valley, which was probably my smallest need.

Disappointed to see Gil go to the (hated) Heroes ( ); I was hoping he would go back to Boston where he belongs. Hopefully he gets to 3000 hits, 600 dingers and 200 sb with NY.

Yes! Quero gets one more shot. Since my team is going to be very crappy for one more season before it starts getting better I'm not sure if Q will even manage 6 wins.

Can't believe Blackmore signed for so little. He was asking 14 Mil from me and then like 18 Mil once he hit free agency and he accepts some measly 8.5 Mil offer.

With all of this offseason movement (both trades and free agents), I am thinking next year will be the toughest year to predict as of yet.

Initially I think Apex, Edmonton, Napa Valley and Boston look strong in the CL, while Hammersmith and New York both look strong in the RL...

But I'll leave the actual predictions for the Village Idiot

Another fun fact.. I'm assuming either during the FOOL World Classic, or the FOOL Regular Season on Monday we will reach the 25,000th post of FOOL (all FOOL leagues/discussions/arguements/etc)

Can I still request my stadium parameters to be adjusted at this point? If so, I'd like to go with a more balanced approach and take Turner Field. If not, I'll remind you at the end of the season.

Edit:

Also, it's 2028, any objections to me moving my team after this season? I've never really liked being in Montreal (kind of wanted to change when I started up but said what the hell) and I think now is as good a time as any to make the move. If so, I'm thinking Japan could use a team, probably Tokyo, or I may choose a location more personal to me.

Can I still request my stadium parameters to be adjusted at this point? If so, I'd like to go with a more balanced approach and take Turner Field. If not, I'll remind you at the end of the season.

Yeah, It has been more than 15 seasons since your last stadium change, so you are fine as long as it fits within the stadium guidelines (Turner Field would be no issue if using Turner Field from the spreadsheet).

Just drop me a PM to remind me. I can make the change before Spring Training runs. I don't want to change stadiums between Spring training and the regular season though, so if you don't send it tonight, I can do it on Wednesday otherwise.

So Baltimore trades away everyone and then dominates in Spring Training. Sounds about right!

Finally signed some guys. I doubt many of them will help much, but we can at least field a halfway competent team. I'm still not sure what I'm doing about CF though.
