Prospects - a Puresim Dynasty
I've recently gotten into Puresim, an excellent baseball sim, and I'd like to run a dynasty, I think I'll include some interactivity. Basically if anyone is interested, they can post their players name, position, and any particular talent (power hitter, great glove, excellent fastball, or whatever.) Then I will place the players into a new draft league and we can follow their careers to see how they do. At this point I'm guessing I'll start a "real league" with current players in 2007, and bring in the players in the first draft available.
To give you an idea what your options are, position players are rated on the following areas. I'll be giving your guys a lot of potential and see how they develop. Contact Hitting Power Hitting Eye Speed Range Arm Hands Potential For pitchers, the main pitching attributes are Stuff Velocity Control Endurance Hold Runners Potential Pitchers also have Speed/Range/Arm/Hands So, when I get home I'll kick in some starter players and then see who else is interested in adding a player, and I can add them in in subsequent drafts. The 2006 season has ended when our prospects join the league. They will have varying skills, and some may be ready for the big leagues immediately while others will need to hone their skills in the minors. I will be playing with real rosters from 2006 with 30 spots available for each team's minor league system, so there will be plenty of competition. Each month I'll update how our players and teams are doing, and give a final wrapup with the best teams and stat leaders after each year.
At the end of 2006, the Cleveland Indians beat the New York Mets to take the World Series title. This was considered quite an upset. 2007 season start– Our players are introduced to the league via the draft Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine was signed in Round 3 by the Rangers. He will start out the year as the backup catcher Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Starting Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Jackson was picked by the Indians in Round 4. The defending World Champions wasted no time, immediately slotting Jackson into their starting rotation. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Randy was the first of the players signed, in Round 1 to the Reds. Randy will start the year in AAA ball and will try to develop his skills, obviously his velocity is terrible right now. I think he'll see some major league throwing time this year though. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Jeff was picked up by the Nats in the fifth round. He's going to start for the Nationals this year. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers The Brewers picked up FB Pro in the fourth round. He starts the season playing AAA ball but will get a crack at the roster pretty soon. Right now the only third basemen ahead of him are Corey Koskie and Scott Spiezio, and neither of them are getting any younger. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Kyle was drafted in round 2 by the Royals. He will start the season on their major league roster as a backup outfielder, right now Preston Wilson is their starter at CF. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al was picked by Chicago in the fourth round. For the start of the year he's been assigned to the major league lineup, but will be the backup SS behind Khalil Greene who was acquired from the Padres as a free agent this year. He can expect to see some valuable playing time though. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne unfortunately was not picked in the draft, but was picked up by Oakland as a free agent. Dayne will start out in AAA, unfortunately he's competing against another hot SS prospect, Aaron Gonzales, who's been given the starting job on the big league club. Dayne plays both SS and 3B well though and has excellent fielding skills. |

A month into the season, and some of our teams are the hottest in baseball, the A's are 20-6 for the month, and the Cubs are 19-6. Anaheim is bringing up last place at 8-19 so far. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine has been used mostly as a defensive replacement so far, as his miserable .171 hitting isn't going to win him any awards. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Fireball is known for one thing above all, throwing heat, and he's done that so far for the Indians. In 5 starts he's 3-1 so far, but with a 6.32 ERA and 2.04 WHIP! He's struck out 45 batters though. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnatti Reds So far in 12 innings of relief work in AAA Randy's got a 2.92 ERA and one loss. He's doing well but the Reds bullpen is pretty good at the top level. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Jeff is starting for the Nats, and is a good hitter but an average fielder at this point. He's hitting .294 with 4 homers and 16 RBIs. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers FB Pro is ripping up AAA pitching right now, hitting .325 with 4 home runs and 17 RBI. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Kyle is getting a little playing time so far at center and left. In a month he has had 11 at-bats with four hits including a double, two walks and two stolen bases. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al has seen very scarce play so far, he's had only three at bats and no hits, and has played three games at 2B so far. It looks like he's barely holding on to a roster spot at this point. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne is struggling to hit AAA pitching but has been excellent at 3B and SS fielding wise so far. He's hitting .220 with 7 doubles so far this year. |

The season is well on its way at this point, and right now Oakland remains the hottest team with a blistering 39-14 record. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers The Rangers are struggling at 24-30 so far, and are third in their division. Peregrine is being platooned at catcher with Rod Barajas, who is currently on the DL, so he's seen a lot of starts in the past 10 days or so. He's hurting at the plate, hitting only .227 but he does have 5 home runs and 15 RBI. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Cleveland is 27-27 on the year and is mired in fourth place in their division. Miller is incredibly wild right now and I'm not sure what he's still doing pitching for the big league club, but maybe the Indians have no one better. In 11 starts his record is 4-5 with a 8.85 ERA and 2.38 WHIP. He has 81 strikeouts (10th in the league) against 59 walks (leading the league.) Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Cincinnati is 25-29 on the year and in fourth place in their division. Randy continues to toil in AAA ball, and pitch well, in 28 relief innings so far he has an excellent 2.54 ERA and a 1-1 record. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals The Nats are 24-30 and in last place in their division.Jeff is still starting at 2nd and is solid in the field, and hitting .262 with 8 HRs and 27 RBIs on the year. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers Milwaukee is 31-23 so far and are trailing the Cubs by 6 ½ games. FB Pro continues to play well in AAA, hitting .309 with 7 homers and 27 RBI. The club definitely seems to view him as their 3B of the future. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals The Royals are 29-23 on the year and are leading their division by 1 ½ games over Detroit. Near the end of May the Royals have given Kyle a starting chance for several games, but he has been baffled by big league pitching so far, and is hitting .212 so far with 3 RBI and 3 stolen bases. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs The Cubs are 37-16 so far and are the best team in the National League. They are leading their division by 6.5 games. Al continues to be used lightly as a defensive replacement and has showed real promise as a pinch hitter. In 20 at-bats he is hitting .429 with a home run and 2 RBI. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Oakland, as mentioned, is 39-14, and they are already leading their division by 10 ½ games! Dayne remains in AAA where he is hitting very poorly, only .199 so far with a home run and 13 RBI. (One of the limitations of Puresim is that it doesn't track defensive stats in the minor leagues, but I'm sure he's doing fine in that aspect of the game.) |

The season is about half over and we've hit the All-Star break. The A's and the Cubs are battling for hottest team in the majors, the Cubs are 54-28 right now and the A's are 53-29. Jason Giambi is surprising everyone by leading the league in batting at .337, after a very mediocre year last year. San Diego's Jake Peavy is the best pitcher right now, at 12-2 with a 2.02 ERA. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Texas is 37-46 on the year. Peregrine is still platooning and is hitting .256 with 12 home runs and 34 RBIs. He's also been excellent defensively. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Cleveland is 36-47 and in the basement of their division, it doesn't look like they'll make a run at defending their World Series title. Miller remains in the Indians' rotation, except for a 10 day period where he was sent down to AAA. He's just wild right now, but has the potential to be an excellent power pitcher. So far he has a 4-6 record in 16 starts with a 8.48 ERA. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds The Reds are struggling at 35-48 at this point. Welburn was called up from AAA to the big club at the beginning of June, and has pitched just as well at the major league level. In 12.2 innings he has a 2.13 ERA and a 0-1 record. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Washington is 37-45 so far and in the basement of their division. Nights remains a starter, and really had a good June, he's now hitting .282 with 13 home runs and 44 RBIs on the year. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers The Brewers are 48-35 but still trail the red-hot Cubs by 6 ½ games. FB Pro got some very good news on June 17th, he was called up to the big club! Unfortunately he injured his back three days later and is currently on the DL. He got 12 at-bats at the MLB level before he got hurt, hitting .250 with 2 home runs and 2 RBI. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals The Royals are 38-43 and are just trying to get back to .500 ball at this point. Kyle has remained in the starting lineup since the end of May, playing all over the outfield and even at 2B for a few games. His hitting has been up and down, but right now he's hitting .259 with 2 home runs, 11 RBIs, and 6 stolen bases. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs The Cubs are 54-28 and are the hottest team in baseball. Al continues to be used mostly as a pinch hitter, though he has played some SS, 2B and 1B in a pinch. He's hitting .316 with one home run and 3 RBI in 38 at-bats. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Oakland is 53-29 and leading the second place team, Seattle, by 9 ½ games. Dayne remains in AAA and is trying to improve his hitting, he's now hitting .229 with 1 HR and 23 RBIs. Last edited by Peregrine : 07-29-2007 at 08:33 AM. |

Oakland is 71-35 and has the season on cruise control at 18 games ahead of Seattle. Baltimore is the worst team so far with a miserable 25-82 season. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers The Rangers are 49-58 and competing hard against Anaheim to avoid the cellar position in their division. Peregrine is getting more starts and seems to be gradually taking the starting job from Barajas. He's hitting .248 with 13 HRs and 37 RBIs, but is playing very well defensively. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Cleveland is 44-63 and looking ahead to next year. Miller seems to be getting worse as the season goes on, in 21 starts he's 4-10 with a 9.14 ERA, and continues to lead the majors in walks. Beyond CC Sabathia, the Indians rotation is pretty much a nightmare. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds The Reds are 45-63 and are in last place in the NL Central. Randy has stayed with the Reds but has been on and off so far, he had a terrible July and in 23 innings of work his ERA is 5.70. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Washington is 48-58 and trying to avoid the cellar. Jeff has had a solid rookie season, his glovework hasn't been fantastic but hasn't been bad. Currently he's hitting .278 with 19 home runs and 61 RBIs. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers The Brewers are 58-49 and are 9 games behind the Cubs. FB Pro lost about a month of the season thanks to his back injury, but he's back playing for the Brewers, and really hurting at the plate so far, he couldn't buy a hit in July, and his average is now .173 with 2 HR and 2 RBIs. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals The Royals are 45-62 and struggling just to avoid the basement at this point. Around the middle of July Wesley was put back on the bench and is used as a pinch hitter and defensive backup. Overall he's hitting .258 with 2 home runs and 14 RBIs, and six stolen bases. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs The Cubs are 67-40 and the best team in the National League. Al is getting around one at-bat per game as a pinch hitter and defensive sub, but he's taking a beating at the plate in July, and his average has dropped to .276 with three home runs and three RBIs. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Oakland is 71-35 and the best team in baseball right now. Dayne is still trying to perfect his swing in AAA, hitting .225 with three home runs and 34 RBI. |

The race to the playoffs is heating up, though many of the races are already decided. Oakland is cruising with an 88-47 record, and the Cubs are 7 games up at 78-57. The closest races right now are the NL East with the Phillies holding a slim lead over Atlanta and the NL West with the Diamondbacks two games over the Rockies. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Texas is 66-70 and is hoping to finish at .500. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Cleveland is 57-79 so far and still fighting with Anaheim to see who ends up in the basement. Miller is still dealing out free passes like candy (in a recent game he threw 134 pitches in 6 innings!) He is 4-7 with an 8.72 ERA. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds The Reds are 62-74 and solidly in last place in the NL Central. Randy remains with the Reds but isn't getting many innings as he is getting shelled lately, in his last four appearances his ERA has rocketed from 5.70 to 8.13. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Washington is 67-68 and is 9 games back in the NL East. Our only full-time starter besides Miller, he is hitting .283 with 23 home runs and 71 RBI, a very solid season so far. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers The Brewers are 71-64 and are 7 games back from the Cubs. FB Pro is getting a few starts at 3B now, and is playing well, hitting .268 with 8 home runs and 13 RBIs. In a recent game he hit three doubles! Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals The Royals are 57-78 so far and they and the Indians are duking it out for last place. Wesley is now alternating with some starts and some replacement work, he's not hitting the ball well though and is down to a .245 average with 2 home runs, 13 RBIs, and 9 stolen bases. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs The Cubs are 78-57 and are the best in the NL, but they have slumped over the past few weeks. Al is a true utility player this year, as he has played at least a little at every position except 3B (even catcher a couple of times!) In pinch-hitting duties he's hitting .299 with one home run and 3 RBI. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Oakland is cruising into the playoffs. Dayne is really hoping he'll be called up from AAA but it hasn't happened yet, he's still hitting only .216 but has 4 home runs and 41 RBIs on the year. |

End of Season, 2007
The playoffs had a lot of surprises, as all the division series were good matchups and included Boston knocking out the favorite As in 6, and all three other series going to 7 games. The Cubs, White Sox, and Phillies filled out the other three LCS spots. Chicago fans are going nuts! The Phillies took care of the Cubs with surprising ease as the Chicago bats went silent. The White Sox battled back to win their series in six games. The Phillies won the World Series, 4-2! They were led by excellent pitching and good power hitting by Ryan Howard (40 HRs) and a solid lineup through and through. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Texas finished out the year at 78-84 and third in the AL West. Peregrine became the starting catcher for the Rangers as the year progressed, and struggled at the plate, hitting .212 with 21 home runs and 57 RBIs. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Cleveland finished at 71-91, third in the AL Central. Miller remained very wild, finishing the year at 4-8 with a 8.52 ERA in 32 starts. He led the league in walks with 141 and had 228 strikeouts Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds The Reds were 79-83, fourth in the NL Central. In 21 relief appearances in the majors over 30 innings, Randy had a 7.50 ERA and struggled to get batters out. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals The Nats finished 77-85 and third in the NL East. Jeff was impressive all year as a starter, and finished hitting .281 with 27 home runs and 84 RBIs. This was good enough for him to be named NL Rookie of the Year! FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers Milwaukee made a good run at the end but finished 87-75, 5 games behind the Cubs. FB Pro appeared in 72 games and hit .266 with 14 home runs and 34 RBIs on the year. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals The Royals finished up 73-89, third in the AL Central. Kyle continued to play a backup role and ended the season hitting .245 with 3 home runs, 15 RBI and 10 stolen bases. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs The Cubs won their division and the first round of the playoffs, before losing to the red-hot Phillies in the LCS. Al remained a pinch hitter and substitute all year, but hit .289 with a home run and 4 RBI. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Oakland won 104 games and led the regular league, but were bounced out of the playoffs in a huge upset. Dayne never got out of AAA this year, and finished up hitting .220 with 8 home runs and 62 RBI. |

For new players, I think we can use some more pitchers, maybe a closer, we don't have anyone playing 1B, and the outfield could use a few more people. But do whatever you want.

Start of Season, 2008
We'll be adding several new players to our group, and will see how they do! Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine will be the backup catcher for Texas, as they have signed Pudge Rodriguez back to the team on a one year contract. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Miller has been sent down to AAA at the start of the year, though his stuff has improved from a year in the bigs. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Randy will start the year playing AAA for the Reds. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Jeff will remain a starter for the Nationals. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers It looks like FB Pro will be the starter at 3B for the Brewers this year, at least at the beginning. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Kyle will start the year in AAA for the Royals. Apparently his development has hit a snag, as his skills have gone down slightly. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al has developed well and it looks like the sky's the limit for him, but right now he'll still be a backup shortstop behind Khalil Greene. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Ho will start the year playing AA ball for the Athletics. At least his struggles last year have improved his contact hitting and eye. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Jamie was grabbed by Seattle in the 4th round. He developed very well in spring training and the Mariners have him slotted to be their leadoff hitter. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Deacon was chosen by the Cubs in the second round of the draft. He'll start in AAA ball this year. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny was picked in the first round by the Braves. It looks like he'll be used as the backup first baseman for the club behind Adam Laroche, who's had a couple excellent years so far. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers Path was taken in the 5th round by the Brewers. Path will start in AAA. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Roger wasn't chosen in the draft but was quickly signed by Houston to a free agent deal. He'll start the year in AAA. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs Gunn was picked by the Cubs in the 4th round. He's going to start out playing AA ball this year. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros Hunter was the first of our players taken in the draft, in the 1st round by the Astros. He'll start the season playing in AAA. |

Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine is getting some off and on starts as the second catcher for the team, but so far can't hit anything, he's hitting .154 with one home run and 2 RBIs. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Jackson is showing the same wildness he showed in the big leagues last year, so far he's 0-2 with a 6.23 ERA, though he does have 43 strikeouts. He's going to have to improve to go back up to the big club. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Welburn is pitching well, in 13 relief innings he has a 2.08 ERA. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Jeff is showing good power so far this year, hitting only .240 but with 7 home runs and 16 RBIs so far. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers FB is playing well since he's been given a chance as a starter, right now he's covering 3B well and hitting .290 with 4 HRs and 17 RBI right now. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Wesley is having no problems with AAA pitching, hitting .309 so far with 3 HR and 11 RBI. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al is being used as a pinch hitter and defensive sub, same as last year. So far he has only 9 AB and is hitting a miserable .111. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics In AA Dayne is having much more success at the plate, hitting .280 with 2 HR and 6 RBI so far. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Jamie has had a lot of trouble with major league pitching, especially left handers, and has alternated between starting and backup duties. So far he's hitting .218 with a home run and 6 RBI. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Deacon is having no trouble tearing through AAA pitching so far, he's hitting .303 with 3 HR and 18 RBIs. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny is mostly pinch hitting but is hitting righties hard, overall he's going .350 with 2 HRs and 3 RBI. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers Path is dominating batters in AAA, so far he's 2-1 with a miniscule 0.59 ERA and 23 Ks. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Bailey is pitching well in AAA, with a 3.07 ERA in three starts so far, with no decisions. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs Gunn has been an excellent closer in AA, so far he has two wins, 9 saves, and a 2.70 ERA in 13 innings. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros In 13 innings of AAA relief work, Hunter has one loss and a 4.15 ERA. Here's the view of the short list I use to track the players - keep in mind that Puresim is limited in how it handles the minors, I'm not sure it can keep track of starts, it just uses innings, so all the G/GS/CG/SHO fields are empty. Yeah part of the problem is I am only entering the player's values before the draft, which I think is appropriate. Before the season even starts, the player gets re-assessed in spring training, some go up, some go down, this continues through the seasons. So far Wesley has been unlucky, he's dropped down a lot from his initial values. He may just be a bust of sorts, I guess we'll see.

Another month into the season, and the hottest teams are Toronto in the AL at 35-18, and San Diego in the NL at 37-17. Corey Patterson of Baltimore is leading the league in hitting at .373. Toronto's young gun Geoffrey Muncy is 10-0 to lead all pitchers. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine is still very good defensively but is really hurting at the plate. He's hitting .194 with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Apparently Cleveland is ready to deal with Miller again, as they bring him back up to the majors on May 24th, he'll be their #5 starter in the rotation. Before that he was throwing for a 6.27 ERA (pretty good for him!) with 74 Ks in the minors. In the bigs so far he's started one game, in 4.2 innings he got shelled for 9 hits and 4 earned runs and took the loss. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Welburn's excellent pitching in the minors did not go unnoticed, and the Reds called him up on May 9th. Before that he was virtually unhittable in AAA, in 19 innings of work he had a 1.42 ERA. He's been solid for the Reds also, in 9 innings of work he's had a 3.00 ERA and 0.89 WHIP. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Jeff is a solid starter for the Nats, he's hitting .295 at the moment with 10 HR and 34 RBI. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers FB has been in a horrible slump for the second half of may, his average is down to .234 right now and he has 7 HR and 17 RBIs. Personally I wonder how long he'll remain a starter with those kind of numbers. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Kyle is still fighting in AAA and waiting for the phone to ring, he's hitting .268 with 3 homers and 18 RBIs so far. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al saw very sparing use in May, even by his standards, he's just not seeing the ball. A .125 hitter is just not good for the PH role. He only has two hits in 16 at-bats this year. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne is having no problem hitting the ball at the AA level, and is hoping he'll be moved up to at least AAA soon. Right now he's hitting .298 with 3 HR and 16 RBIs. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Jamie is hitting well against righties so far but is hurting against southpaws. Overall his average is .242 with 3 HR and 13 RBIs. He also has four stolen bases in the leadoff role. By the way, here's an example of one of my favorite features in Puresim, the game log which tracks each appearance by a player, and you can easily see any boxscore or log (if you're saving them.) Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Deacon is seeing the ball well right now, hitting .298 in AAA with 6 HR and 28 RBIs. Chicago's outfielders are all hitting under .260 right now, so if he keeps this up Deac may get the call later this season. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny is getting some pinch hitting work and going in as a late inning substitute. He's hitting .295 right now (.385 versus righties!) with 2 HR and 3 RBIs on the year. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers Path continues to look like an excellent prospect pitcher, he's throwing well in AAA, with a 3-4 record but a 2.75 ERA. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Roger continues to toil in the minors, but is having no trouble with AAA batters, and is 1-1 with a 3.25 ERA. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs Gunn has been very solid as a minor league closer, with a 3-1 record and 18 saves in only 29 innings of work. His ERA of 4.66 could be better, though. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros Owen has struck out 28 batters against only 9 walks so far, and has a 3.94 ERA in 29 innings pitched. |

At the halfway point, Cleveland, Toronto and Texas are the division leaders on the AL side and Chicago, Washington and San Diego on the NL side. Albert Pujols has 27 home runs to lead the league and Washington's Chad Cordero is the best closer in the league. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers In a rare highlight for him, Peregrine slugged a walk-off grand slam on the 27th to break a tie and beat Oakland! He's shaken his slump in the last month and is tearing into the ball now, hitting .346 with 9 HR and 21 RBI. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Miller is pitching much like last year, in 7 starts he's 4-3 with a 6.60 ERA, though he has struck out 60 batters, he's also walked 31! If he can improve his control he's going to be a strikeout king, I think. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Randy, after doing great in the minor, has been getting hammered at the ML level. So far in 19 innings of work he's 1-1 but with a 7.58 ERA! Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Jeff continues to be a solid part of the team for the Nats, and is hitting better and better. At the halfway mark he's hitting .327 with 19 home runs and 59 RBIs! FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers FP has held onto the starting spot at third and is holding down the corner well defensively. He's hitting .252 with 10 HR and 39 RBIs so far. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Kyle is hitting .269 with 6 homers and 25 RBIs. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al has improved his average at least a litte, to .167. but is still barely contributing to the Cubs at this point. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne is hitting .312 with 5 HRs and 29 RBI as well as his usual sparking glovework in AA ball. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners I'm a bit surprised the Mariners aren't platooning Jamie, as he is baffled by left handed pitching. Overall he's hitting .266 with 8 HR, 29 RBI, and 8 stolen bases on the year. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Deac is hitting .278 with with 8 HRs and 41 RBIs in the minors, still trying to earn that ticket to the big league. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny has gotten a few starts in the last month, and is hitting .260 with 3 homers and 9 RBI in mostly replacement work. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers Path is now 5-5 with a 3.25 ERA and has 81 strikeouts on the year. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Roger's record is now 3-2 with a 3.65 ERA. He's struck out 84 batters but has given out 47 walks! Apparently Jackson Miller is his idol. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs Gunn has 26 saves now in 43 innings, and a 4-1 record. He's still working on that 4.57 ERA. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros Good news! Hunter got the call on June 28th and he's gone up to play for Houston. So far he's pitched one inning and given up one hit and no runs. |

The dog days of summer are here and baseball is heating up. Several divisions have very close races and the leads are changing back and forth. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine has moved up to starting catcher for the Rangers as Rodriguez has been hurt and not performing very well. He's hitting well, at .280 with 13 home runs and 32 RBI. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians It's just like last year as Miller continues to be wild but win some games, he's 4-4 with a 6.75 ERA. He's improved his walks total to some extent but it's still pretty high. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Randy has not been able to find success at the major league level, as hitters continue to tear him up. In 42 innings he's 2-2 with a 6.00 ERA. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Jeff is hammering the ball right now and really starting to get noticed on the national level. Right now he's hitting a scorching .338 with 24 home runs and 77 RBIs. At the moment he's 3rd in the majors in average and 7th in RBIs. Jeff is also leading the majors in walks with 66. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers FB is hitting .263 now with 15 HR and 63 RBIs, even though he's hitting 8th! Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Kyle is showing a very good eye so far this year, with 72 walks, and is hitting .282 with 8 HRs and 38 RBIs. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al has 5 hits in 24 at-bats so far, and has a total of 3 RBI. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne is making his mark in AA, hitting .302 with 8 HR and 44 RBIs, he also has an impressive 93 walks. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Jamie suffered a knee cap injury that has hampered his playing time a bit for two weeks, and has knocked him out of the starting lineup temporarily. He's hitting .270 on the year, with 14 home runs and 41 RBIs. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Deacon is hitting .296 with 13 homers and 61 RBI in the minors. Personally I'm surprised he hasn't been called up for a cup of coffee yet. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny continues to be a backup with occasional starts here and there. He needs to improve his bat, as he's hitting only .240, with 4 home runs and 13 runs knocked in. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers Path continues to look good, with an 8-6 record and a 3.39 ERA. He has 118 strikeouts on the year. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Bailey continues to give out a ludicrous number of walks, in fact he and Path have about the same number of strikeouts but Roger has double the walks that Path does. Roger is 3-5 with a 4.38 ERA. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs Gunn has 37 saves and a 4.20 ERA. He's playing well but Chicago has one of the best closers in the league right now so it doesn't look like he'll be called up this year, barring injury. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros In 21 innings of major league work, Hunter has a 4.15 ERA and has struck out 16. He has a 1-0 record. |

San Diego and Washington seem to be cruising in their divisions, while Texas and Oakland are battling for the lead in the AL West and the Brewers and Cubs are neck and neck in the NL Central. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine is producing as a starter, hitting the ball well at .308 with 19 home runs and 48 RBIs. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Miller remains Miller, he is 5-6 with a 7.40 ERA with 119 strikeouts. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Welburn has struggled to remain in the majors as he is getting ripped, with a 6.84 ERA and a 2-2 record. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Nights continues to be the star of our players this year, hitting .329 with 32 home runs and 95 RBI. He now has 78 walks against only 66 strikeouts. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers FB is having trouble swinging the bat, with a .249 average, but has some power with 16 home runs, and 62 RBI. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Kyle had a good month for RBIs, knocking in 20 to go to a .264 average with 10 home runs and 45 RBI Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al's struggles continue, his average is up to .200 at least but he's still barely on the field. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne is hitting .315 in AA ball with 10 homers and 53 runs batted in. He's also drawn 105 walks which is a crazy number (Jeff is leading the majors with only 78.) Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Jamie has been bumped out of his starting role and is being used as a pinch hitter and substitute now. He's hitting .269 with 15 home runs and 44 RBI. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Deac is hitting .285 with 14 home runs and 70 RBI. He's just hoping at this point he'll get a taste of the majors before the year's over. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny's struggles at the plate continue, with a 235 average, and 4 home runs and 16 RBI. He really want to be more than a bit player for the Braves, but that will have to come in time. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers Path continues to be excellent in the minors, with a 9-8 record and 2.98 ERA. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Bailey is 4-7 with a 5.22 ERA. He's giving out far too many free passes right now. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs Gunn has 44 saves and has really improved his ERA to 3.38. Now all he needs is a chance to prove himself at the major league level. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros Hunter has buckled down and improved his pitching, so he is 3-1 with a 4.00 ERA for the Astros. |

End of Season, 2008
The LCS series were Toronto vs Texas and the Cubs versus the Brewers. Milwaukee and Texas advanced to the World Series, with Peregrine Falcon getting his first chance to play for all the marbles. In the end it was a cakewalk as the Texas Rangers won in 4 games to become World Champions! Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine finishes the year hitting .295 with 25 home runs and 65 RBI. It was obviously a huge thrill to win the World Series! Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Fireball finishes up the season with 5 wins and 10 losses, and a 6.90 ERA. He struck out 161 batters and walked 75. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Welburn finished up with a 2-2 record in 59 innings of work for the Reds, with a 6.98 ERA. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Nights remained red-hot to the end of the year, and helped the Nationals make the playoffs, though they lost in the divisional series. He finished with a .321 average, 38 home runs, 109 RBIs, and was named the National League's Most Valuable Player! FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers FB Pro finished the season ice-cold, hitting .241 with 17 home runs and 68 RBIs. He definitely wants to improve his hitting next year. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Wesley finished up hitting .261 with 11 homers and 49 runs knocked in. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al had 47 at-bats this year as a pinch hitter and hit .234 with 6 RBI. He played all over the place as a defensive replacement. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne looked very good in AA ball this year, finishing at .322 with 10 home runs and 58 RBIs. Dayne is the only one of our players to have his contract expire after this season, so we'll see if he'll be re-signed by Oakland or go somewhere else. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Jamie re-claimed his starting spot near the end of the year, and overall he hit .273 with 15 homers and 47 RBI. He was good in the field at 2B all year. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Deac never saw the big leagues this year, but was a very good player in AAA, hitting for a .298 average with 19 home runs and 98 runs batted in. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny was a true utility player for the Braves this year, playing all over the field, everywhere but 1st base in fact. In 121 at-bats he hit .231 with 4 home runs and 16 RBI. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers On September 15th, Path got the call to come up to the big club. He was slotted as a reliever and in 7 appearances he got shelled for a 9.00 ERA. He did get the excitement of playing in the World Series though, and the disappointment of losing. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Bailey was consistent this year, but really needs to improve his control. He finished at 5-8 with a 5.13 ERA in AAA. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs Gunn looked fantastic this year, really honing his game and finishing up with 54 saves and a 2.90 ERA. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros Hunter really got his act together late in the season, in 56 innings of work for the Astros he finished with a 3.70 ERA and 1.32 WHIP. |

2009 Season Start
Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine will remain Texas' starting catcher and in the off-season he signed a 3-year extension worth $3.86 million a year. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Miller has definitely improved his stuff if not his control and will be back as the #3 starter for the Indians this year. He signed a four year extension with the club worth $5.2 million a year. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Randy has improved a bit over last year, but still he's going to start in AAA this year. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals The Nationals were obviously elated to have Nights explode last year with his MVP season, and they locked him up with a four year extension worth $4.9 million a year. This is still probably under his market value but it's a lot more than the $2.8 million he was making. (By the way, I love how the game highlights league leaders in stats by highlighting them in red.) FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers FB has improved a bit, especially his eye at the plate. He'll remain with the Brewers as a utility player for now, and try to win back his starting spot. Unfortunately for him, Milwaukee just signed hot 3B prospect Owen Loch, who's 19 and looks to be better than FB Pro in most areas. Well, the battle is on! Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals The good news for Wesley is that he improved across the board and will start the season on the Royals roster, though not as a starter. I'm sure they'll find use for his speed and he may get to pinch hit as well. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al really improved during last season, and he's a much better hitter now across the board. Finally he's been rewarded with the starting SS spot for the Cubs! Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne was re-signed by Oakland to a two year deal for $1.56 million a year, basically chump change. He also improved dramatically over the last year, and is slated to be Oakland's starting shortstop! As you can see he's equally good at 3B and SS so that will give him a lot of flexibility. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Jamie will again be the Mariners starting second baseman this year. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Unfortunately Deacon is the only one of our starting players who will be starting in AAA this year. I know I'm hoping he'll be called up soon. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny will remain with the Braves in a backup role this year, and try to get more playing time. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers Path finds himself back in AAA at the start of the year, with the hope that he'll be given a call early in the year. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Bailey will also be in AAA again this year, as it doesn't look like he improved much from last year. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs BB will be in AAA again, at this point I think what's holding him back is the lack of a closer opportunity in Chicago. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros Hunter enjoyed his time in the majors last year but will start this year back in AAA. |

Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine has been on a tear in the first month of the season, he's hitting .404 with 9 home runs and 31 runs knocked in. It won't last, but it's sweet right now as he's leading the league in average and RBI. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Jackson has been pretty decent in the majors so far. In 6 starts he's 2-2 with a 5.73 ERA, he's struck out 45 against only 23 walks. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Randy has been unhittable so far, in 14 innings of work he's 2-0 and hasn't given up an earned run. He's waiting for the phone to ring. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Maybe it's all the hype, or maybe just a run of the mill slump, but Nights has been ice cold, hitting only .188 with 5 home runs and 10 RBI. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers FB Pro has also started out the season cold, hitting only .160 with four runs knocked in. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Kyle has played sporadically, a bit of right field here, some pinch hits there. So far he only has 13 at-bats and has three hits and a RBI, along with three stolen bases. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al is enjoying being a starter and is trying to contribute to the team. He's hitting .267 so far with 5 RBI, and doing a good job in the field. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne has locked down the shortstop position so far with great fielding, and is hitting .268 with 3 home runs and 7 RBI. He's also stolen three bases. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Moore isn't hitting too well so far, only .226 with 8 RBI. He has walked 17 times already, which shows how fantastic his eye is. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Deacon is struggling to find his swing right now, hitting only .221 with one home run and 5 RBI. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny is getting called on a lot as a pinch hitter, and he's responding, hitting .316 so far with one RBI. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers I'm not sure what's happenin, but Path is getting lit up so far this year, nowhere near his excellent form of last season. In 13.2 innings he's 0-1 with an 8.10 ER. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Bailey seems to have taken the alternate route from Path, he's buckled down and is pitching well, in 14 innings he has a 4.50 ERA, though he is still walking far too many batters. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs Gunn's been barely used so far, in only four innings he has a 2.08 ERA and one save. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros Hunter's been getting pounded so far, in 11 innings he is 0-2 with two saves and a 6.55 ERA. |

Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine is hitting very well and is one of the league's best hitters so far. He has a .335 average with 16 home runs and 51 RBI. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Miller is throwing better but it still struggling with his ERA. So far he's 4-5 with a 5.51 ERA and 100 strikeouts. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Randy is blowing away AAA hitters so far, in 37 innings he's 2-0 with an 0.48 ERA. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Jeff has been an average hitter so far but hasn't shown the flash he did last year, he's hitting .257 with 7 home runs and 23 RBIs. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers So far FB Pro is used as a backup to rookie 3B Owen Loch, he's hitting .212 in limited play with 6 runs batted in. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Kyle has played a bit as a late-innings replacement, and in 19 at-bats has a .263 average and two RBIs. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al is having a pretty good year so far, hitting .287 with 7 RBIs, though he is striking out a bit more than he should. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne has split his time for the A's between starting at short and third base. He is hitting .243 with 3 homers, 13 RBI, and 5 stolen bases. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Jamie is still batting leadoff for the Mariners, and hitting .280 with four home runs and 24 RBIs so far. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Deacon is toiling in AAA ball, hitting .241 with 2 home runs and 17 RBIs. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny continues to hit well as a pinch hitter, with a .316 average and 5 runs batted in. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers Path has not been able to shake his pitching problems so far this year, in 30 innings he's 0-3 with a 7.20 ERA. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Bailey has been inconsistent so far in AAA, in 35 innings he's 0-3 with a 4.63 ERA BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs BB is 1-1 with 10 saves in 19 innings of work so far. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros Owen was called up by the Astros on May 23rd, and so far in 4.2 innings he has a 3.86 ERA. |

Halfway through the year, most of the division races are fairly close. Texas and Colorado have the overall best records in baseball. Colorado's Aaron Cook is 14-1 so far. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine is still a top hitter this year and is helping to propel Texas to the top spot in the AL. He's hitting .314 with 21 home runs and a league leading 71 RBIs. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Miller is trying to keep his wildness under control, though he is still walking a lot of batters. He's 6-7 this year with a 5.14 ERA and 155 strikeouts. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Randycontinues to be dominant in AA ball, so far he is 3-0 with a 1.23 ERA. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Jeff seems to be finding his swing in the last month, he's now hitting .290 with 15 home runs and 39 RBI. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers Pro has been about the same in the last month, hitting .196 as a pinch hitter, with 7 runs batted in. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Kyle has been getting some starts throughout June, and is hitting well, .302, with 9 stolen bases and 6 RBIs. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al is hitting .285 with a home run and 17 RBIs so far, though he has not been fantastic in the field, with 8 errors so far. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne is hitting .209 with 4 home runs and 17 RBIs, though he continues to impress Oakland fans with his fielding ability. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Jamie suffered a bicep injury that has kept him on the bench the past few games, still he's hitting .280 with 8 home runs and 35 RBI so far. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs In a sign of the apocalypse, Deac finally got the call to the majors on June 1st! He's being used as a backup outfielder and pinch hitter, so far hitting .222 in 9 at-bats Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny has yet to start a game all year, playing here and there as a defensive replacement. He's hitting .271 with 5 RBIs in 59 at-bats. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers Path has nothing of the sharpness he had last year, he's 0-5 this season with a 5.54 ERA. He really needs to improve his control. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Roger is throwing heat, but he's throwing it all over the place. So far he's 1-3 with a 5.53 ERA. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs BB is 1-2 with 12 saves in 27 innings so far. Even though Chicago hasn't been able to find an effective closer, he hasn't gotten the call yet. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros Hunter has been quite effective in long relief in the majors so far, even getting a start. He's 4-2 with a 2.68 ERA. |

I read that in the new Puresim patch, they are introducing September call-ups, where the major league rosters are greatly expanded to allow more minor league players to come up. Hopefully that will help some of our guys get some more playing time.

Texas and San Diego are the best teams in baseball right now. Albert Pujols has slugged 35 home runs to lead the majors. Aaron Cook of Colorado is still the best pitcher at 14-4, though Ted Lilly of Texas is giving him a run at 13-5. Peregrine Falcon Catcher Texas Rangers Peregrine is one of the best hitters in the majors this year, hitting for .304 with 27 home runs and 84 RBIs. He was an All-Star starter this year. Jackson Fireball Miller Pitcher Cleveland Indians Miller continues to be average at best, though he can mow the batters down on his good days. He is 9-9 so far with a 5.30 ERA and 1.73 WHIP, and 215 strikeouts. Randy Welburn Relief Pitcher Cincinnati Reds Randy is still working in AA and pitching very well, he's 3-0 with a 1.39 ERA in 85 innings pitched. Jeff Nights Second Base Washington Nationals Jeff is playing well this year, and was named to the All-Star team as a starter, but he's not on the world-beating pace he was last year. He's hitting .287 with 21 home runs and 57 RBIs. FB Pro Third Base Milwaukee Brewers FB continues to get burned at the plate, hitting only .194 with one home run and 9 RBIs in 67 at-bats. Kyle Wesley Center Fielder Kansas City Royals In 52 at-bats, Kyle is hitting .288 with 7 RBIs, and also has 9 stolen bases. Al Mighty Shortstop Chicago Cubs Al is hitting for a .267 average, with two home runs and 24 RBIs. Considering that he's hitting second in the lineup, he's not putting a lot of runners across the plate! Dayne Ho Shortstop Oakland Athletics Dayne is still an asset in the field at third base, but he isn't doing much at the plate. He's hitting .218 with 5 home runs, 21 RBIs and 7 stolen bases, and he's struck out 77 times so far. Jamie Moore 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Jamie is a solid player, though not great in any given area so far. He's hitting .277 with 9 home runs and 39 RBIs, and is okay in the field with 7 errors. Deacon Palmer RF - Chicago Cubs Palmer is filling in here and there, in 23 at-bats in the majors he's hitting .217 with 3 RBI. Danny Wilson 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny is a solid pinch hitter for the Braves, hitting .264 in 91 at-bats with a home run and 6 RBI. Path Twelve SP Milwaukee Brewers Path has been working on his control to get back to last year's effectiveness, his ERA is down to 4.64 but he's still 0-5 so far in the minors this year. Roger Bailey SP Houston Astros Bailey is wild but shows flashes of good play. He's 2-7 with a 6.38 ERA. BB Gunn Closer - Chicago Cubs Gunn is doing more relief work than closing in the minors this year, he's 1-4 with 19 saves in 35 innings. Owen Hunter RP - Houston Astros Hunter has been very sharp for the Astros since his callup, and is getting some occasional starts. So far he's 6-2 with one save and a 2.73 ERA. |

The September call-ups have started and at the start of September all our players except Roger Bailey have been put on the major league roster of their teams. Tampa Bay is the best team in baseball by a long shot with 83 wins. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine is still slugging the ball, hitting for .281 with 30 home runs and 96 runs batted in. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Despite a 5.11 ERA, Fireball has pulled himself to a winning record at 11-10, and has 273 strikeouts which leads the majors. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds In AA, Randy had a 2.74 ERA and a 3-1 record in 105 innings. He's been called up to the majors but hasn't pitched yet. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Jeff had a good August and is now hitting .305 with 29 home runs and 79 RBIs. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers FB found himself starting at third base for most of August due to injuries, and he did pretty well at the plate, with a .271 average, 6 home runs and 24 RBI. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Kyle remains the pinch hitter and substitute for the Royals, and is hitting .282 in 71 at-bats with a home run and 10 RBI, as well as 11 stolen bases. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al has suffered a finger injury and has been playing through it, hitting .268 with two home runs and 30 runs knocked in so far. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne continues to hurt at the plate but is good in the field and on the basepaths (9 stolen bases.) He's hitting .216 with 5 home runs and 25 RBIs for the year. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Jamie has been hurting with two minor injuries over the past 45 days or so, but he's still hitting .281 with thirteen home runs and 47 runs batted in. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Deacon hasn't played too much but is hitting .265 with three RBIs in 34 at-bats. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny has been a solid hitter with a .274 average and two home runs and 8 RBIs in 106 at-bats. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers Path really pulled it together in the minors with a 3.86 ERA before being called up in September. He has yet to pitch in the majors. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Bailey is the only player to still be left in the minors, but he hasn't been effective at all this year, with a 3-9 record and 6.05 ERA. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs BB notched his 23rd save with a 3.40 ERA before being called up to the majors. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros Owen is Houston's #2 relief pitcher and has been very good all year, even getting four starts. He's 7-3 with two saves, and a 3.16 ERA in 31 appearances. |

End of Season, 2009
Philadelphia beat Oakland in the World Series, 4-1. Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine finished up the season with a .283 average, 35 home runs, and 114 RBIs. He was named to the All-Star team and was named to the Puresim Pure Slugger team. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians Miller led the league in strikeouts, finishing up with 313 of them, but he also led the league in walks, with 152. He finished at 12-12 on the season with a 5.14 ERA. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds Randy only got to pitch one inning in the majors this year before he was sent down to the minors again. He ended up with a 2.74 ERA and a 3-1 record. His contract is expired so he'll be looking for another team and hopefully some playing time. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Nights had a good year, he was named an All-Star and named to the All-Slugger team. He ended up hitting .317 with 34 home runs and 100 RBIs. He was very consistent and his numbers were very close to last year's MVP totals. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers FB was a backup this year to rookie phenom Owen Loch, who got the starting job at only 19. FB ended up hitting .268 on the year with six home runs and 27 RBIs. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals Kyle made himself useful as a defensive replacement and pinch hitter, and hit .274 in 84 at-bats with a home run and 11 RBIs. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al started for the Cubs for most of the season, playing in 138 games. He hit for .262 with two home runs and 32 RBIs and played pretty well in the field for them. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne was Oakland's starting third baseman most of the year but he also started at shortstop some. He never really caught on to major league pitching, hitting only .222 with 9 home runs and 34 RBIs. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Moore was a solid starter for the Mariners, hitting for .283 with 14 home runs and 50 RBIs. He did struggle with his fielding, committing 14 errors on the year. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Palmet didn't show much after his callup to the majors this year, hitting .233 with four RBIs in 43 at-bats. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny was a utility player, getting defensive starts all over the field this year. He hit pretty well, with a .307 average, 2 home runs, and 11 RBI. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers Path had an up and down year, as he struggled at first in the minors, then played well, then got called up to the majors where he was average. In the minors he ended up 0-5 with a 3.86 ERA, in the majors he pitched only 6 innings and had a 4.26 ERA. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Roger never made it to the big leagues this year, struggling in the minors to a 3-9 record and 6.05 ERA. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs BB was solid in the minors with 23 saves, then after his call up in September he was 5 for 5 in major league save chances with a 3.00 ERA. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros Hunter was a very reliable reliever this year, in 42 appearances (4 starts) he had a 9-5 record with 2 saves and a 3.28 ERA. |

I'm going to change the format of the dynasty as it's getting really hard to do this many updates a year. I'm going to move to a once yearly, or maybe twice yearly update instead.

Getting shelled so badly in the World Series the year before must have shaken my confidence. Coming back strong though!

2010 Season
Milwaukee beat Boston in the World Series, 4-2 Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers Peregrine really had an off year this year, he wasn't terrible, but he wasn't putting up big numbers as he has the past two years. He started all but three games for the Rangers, and hit .269 with twenty home runs and sixty-nine runs batted in. Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians All I can say is wow! Miller broke through this year and had the year everyone thought he could if he got his wildness under control. He still walked 167 batters, but struck out 337 (breaking his record of last year) and finished with an 18-9 record and 3.79 ERA. Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – San Francisco Giants Randy was a free agent this year and signed a three year deal with the Giants. He pitched in the minors mostly, going 5-4 with 3 saves and a 4.37 ERA, and only pitched for one out in the majors. Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals Jeff dropped a bit from the pace of his last couple of years but was still named an All-Star starter and named to the Pure Slugging team. This year he hit .290 with 27 home runs and 95 RBIs. FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers FB remained in his utility/backup role this year but at least had the excitement of having his team win the World Series! He played in 82 games and in 92 at-bats hit .261 with two home runs and 10 RBI. He again played almost every position on the field this year. Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Minnesota Twins Kyle filed for free agency and ended up signing a two year contract with the Twins. He was sent down to play AA ball and stayed there all season. He had an alright year in the minors, hitting .251 with seven home runs and 57 RBIs, but at this point it's questionable whether he's ever going to get his talent up to the major league starter level. Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs Al started again for the Cubs, and again showed a combination of good fielding and gap power, though he struck out a lot and struggled to knock in runs. He ended up hitting .267 with two home runs and 23 runs batted in. Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics Dayne's season was ruined by a severe fibula injury that kept him on the DL for four months of the season. He only started 45 games for the A's because of this, and batted .289 with thirteen RBIs. Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners Jamie had his best year this year, he started at 2B against lefties and was the DH against righties. Because of his excellent eye, he led the league in walks this year with 102 (though he also had 122 strikeouts?) For the year he hit .285 with 21 home runs and 71 runs batted in. Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs Deacon remained in the majors all year this year, as an occasional starter and utility player, though he struggled to find the ball, hitting only .220 with 8 home runs and 30 RBIs. Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves Danny got the starting job this year as Atlanta's first baseman, and had a solid if not great year, especialy on defense. Offensively he hit .263 with 17 home runs and 54 runs batted in. Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers Path pitched mostly in AAA this year, and looked pretty good at times, with a record of 5-7 and a 3.25 ERA. He came up to the majors during the September call-ups and had 8 appearances and one start in which he looked very good, with a 3-1 record and 2.25 ERA. It can't be long before he comes up to the majors to stay. Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros Roger couldn't get a break in AAA this year, though his ERA was a reasonable 4.74, he had a 1-10 record. He still has his velocity but he needs either his stuff or control ratings to go up a good bit before he has a chance at the majors. BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs BB spent most of the year in AAA, where he notched 22 saves and an impressive 2.74 ERA. He came up to the bigs in September and in 7 appearances recorded 6 saves with a 3.60 ERA. Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros Owen had a good year for the Astros, in 52 appearances and one start, he was 4-9, but with a 3.41 ERA. |

Also, this is a neat feature I think, where you can see how a player's ratings has changed over time.
