vB: Web links not properly parsing
I have my "parsing" option selected, but when I include a proper web link in a posting, it no longer shows as an active link. This seesm to be common now, and if my recollection is accurate, it's a new phenomenon/problem. It's not a huge issue, but if there's a way to remedy it - it's handy to have actual links available, for a variety of reasons.

It worked fine for me. I thought there was once a time when it wouldn't work the first time, but if I went back and edited the message, but just hit save changes without doing anything else, it would put it in the proper format.
How exactly are you typing (or copying) in the addresses? |

Actually, this is much more about other people's posts than mine. I noticed this once, in a posting where I had pasted a copied address site from elsewhere. (I cannot even remember the post, but I very infrequently type out web addresses)
I'll try typing one out here, just as a test of my own: http://www.hotjuggs.com |

I typed that in manually (the first thing that came to my mind, heh) - and I got no link, despite havign the "parsing" option enabled. FYI

I assume that you're posting these via the "reply" feature instead of the "fast reply" box? Because it nevers works for me in the latter.

Must be it... the fastreply doesn't parse. Good sleuthing.

Regrettably, though, I am a fastreply addict - and I see no possibility that this might change anytime soon. So, you'll have to type it in yourself if you want to go visit:

What if you manually insert the tags for http://www.giantslobberingidiotsonparade.com ??

I could fix this with a hack, but since I don't have FTP access, I would have to show Ryan S how to do it. We'll see what can be done. |

In fast reply, you have to add the (url) and (/url) tags (with square brackets) yourself.
Example: (url)http://www.coolhandluke.com(/url)
