Anyone played this game? I heard it's complex but a really good game. Just wondering if anyone can share their impressions. Thanks.

I'm sure there will be supporters of the game on this board, but I'm going to pan it. I have it, it's very complex, I can handle complex but it's really, really complex.
I didn't enjoy it, I know that the company and the web will help fix some of the flaws with it (bugs, a.i. issues) but I've moved on to different games.
If you really want it, wait a few months till it drops in bargain bins, believe me.

I don't find it complex at all.
Not more much more complex than than many RTS games anyhow.

Tarkus,
If you get it be sure to add the patch, and consider some of the 3rd party mods like "Bolted HOI." Should be able to find info on their boards.

I find the game to be poor if not playing a primary power or if you deviate far from historic grand strategy.

This is a very good game. It may take a little bit to get into at first, but I highly recommend it. Make sure you grab the latest patch, and keep an eye on their modifications forum, I'd recommend getting the BOLT mod as soon as it comes out for the latest version of the game.

i hate unnecessarily complex games.

it's called a game for a reason. the notion of fun is implied in it.

i haven't played this game, just commenting on the idea of a complex game.

Medieval:Total War is awesome, and i can't even figure out how to work the shiping/trade system.

I checked the paradox website and didn't see it, but is there a demo available?

Personally, I love the series and its cousin (EU2) It might seem a little daunting, but it really isn't. Once you get going, it becomes fairly easy to control.....just difficult to defeat, as it should be.
