Just saw that Riz is reading this - the screens look great! But one question - the Match incident screen (5.jpg) - is that a frozen situation snapshot, not a view from the "live" play-by-play?

Good to hear you like them. They're a work in progress and we've already improved the looks since these were taken.

That's a "snapshot" of the incident. There is no live play-by-play other than the commentary. The incidents can be viewed as snapshots after they have happened in the game.

Can we change the font used in the game as you could do it in CM3? (I don't ... er.... enjoy the font in the screens quite as much as the rest of it)

Dola. Is the players rated in skills on a 100-point scale or is the maximum value something else (as the player in the 11.jpg screen has a '53' as his best value)?

Font is changable and its a 100-point scale (0-99).

I'm guessing that pic7 is the NHL draft and all the team names are fuzzed out. Is there some problem with using the real NHL teams?

One thing I really hope is if real NHL teams and players can't be used, that some sort of editor enables us to put in the real teams, names, etc.

Indeed. Looks to be the nicknames that were blurred out, as I spot a fuzzy Lightening and Flames.

Yes, the problem would be no-fun lawyers who get all uptight about so called "copyright" stuff....

NHL teamname and players are not allowed to be used in anything without the permission of the NHL and the NHLPA respectively. Without them letting them use the names (in an official North American release, which usually comes with a large licensing fee), we don't get real names.

I think they can use NHL teams and players when releasing the game in Europe. If they "officially" release it in NA, they can't unless they pay. It probably won't be a problem though. When I bought CM4 from GoGamer.com, it was technically an "import". CM4, to my knowledge, has not been officially released in the US.

So as long as we just buy from online sites that "import" the game, we'll get NHL teams and players.

At least that's how I THINK it works...

Or as long as one person buys the European version, zips up the datafiles and puts them somewhere for download it should be ok, I guess.

Not that it really means anything to me, I know nothing about hockey. Give me fake rosters and real rosters and I'd be hard put to tell them apart. Still looking forward to this game though, though I wish SIgames had went for rugby union as their new sport

We are hoping to obtain official licencing etc. for the game for its American/Canadian release - however until we had licences for those leagues we would prefer not to antagonise any of the bodies concerned by showing such information in use within the game, simple as that .....

(so basically with a bit of luck if our biz guys can get things together then NO you won't have to download data packs from anywhere ...)
