CB Rod Clouse retired. We hire a new scout and a new coach, Allen Behrendt and Rusty Stokes. Behrendt is 37 with VG,VG,VG,G,VG,VG,VG,G,VG in ratings. Stokes is 43 with F,G,VG,F,F,F,VG,VG,F,VG,VG,VG,G,EX in ratings. Ticket prices are set to $34,38,51,91,0,2500 and 135.000 for the luxury boxes. Still a long way from what the Skins charge. We need the dough, last year we made a loss of $48.8 mil. Ouch. Fan loyalty is up to 67/100 by the way. We had an 88% attendance last year, that is 68.300 at our games even through we stunk up the joint... Franchise values is 23 for the stadium, 0 for the roster (no kidding), 66 for support (bless 'em) and 61 for economy with a total franchise value of $693,000,000. No franchise player designation this year. The New York Jets really covet my RB, Donnell Wheeler, and offer WR Eddie Swearingen and this year's 29th overall pick in the draft. My new scout tells me Wheeler isn't as good as my former scout led me to believe, he has him rated 9/11 as opposed to 13/15 last year. I accept the trade. I have to get myself a real QB in the first half of free agency, since there seems to be no good prospects at that position in the draft. Buffalo's Farmer is good, but too old. I offer 4 years, $65.5 mil to Detroit's Sammy Hope. Hope for the best. St.Louis tops my offer to Hope in week 2. I raise my offer in turn, reaching $70 mil over 4 years, keeping careful track of the 33% limit on increments each year. In week 6, Philadelphia offers $71 million. Aargh! After a 5-0 start of the season, QB Sammy Hope went down with a hyperextended knee. In with Dwight "Ryan Leaf" Clinton who got to be the most expensive 2nd-string QB in the league. We don't trust him a bit and expect RB Tumulty to carry the team. However, he couldn't do it all by himself, and the offense went into the tank vs Portland(1-4), managing only 193 yards in a 14-26 loss. Hope will start again as soon as he can. We win again next week with Hope going 21/29 for 283 yds and 2 TDs. In weeks 11 and 12 Tumulty went on a tear, recording consecutive 200-yd rushing games. For good measure he added his third 200-yard game for the season in week 17, finishing with a league-leading 2069 yards, a new league record. In addition, he set a new mark in most carries in a season with 442, an average of 27.6 carries/game. He set another record, for most carries in a game, with a whopping 44 carries vs Green Bay. His season high of 254 yards vs San Diego was the 8th highest total ever.
Wild card Round vs St. Louis Rams The Redneck's first ever playoff game! The Rams managed only 17 yards on the opening drive, punting from their 48 for a touchback. Richmond marched quickly 80 yards downfield and put seven points on the scoreboard through a Tumulty 17-yd touchdown run with 06:28 remaining in the first quarter. At halftime the score was 21-0 with 174 rushing yards for the Rednecks, compared to only 97 yards passing. Ball control offense baby! The defense was doing their share as well, holding the Rams to 53 yards rushing and 78 passing through the first half. A fumble on St. Louis 2-yd line by FB Prior allowed the Rams to go the distance and make it 21-7 with 03:47 left in the third quarter. But QB Hope caught the Rams off guard on the very next drive with a play-action fake to hit wide open WR Swearingen for a 71-yd touchdown pass. Tumulty ran in for his fourth TD of the game right before the 2-minute warning to set the final score to 35-7. Minnesota moves the ball 49 yards and hits a 39-yd FG to open the scoring. Tumulty gets injured and Richmond has to punt again without yet having a first down. With 02:59 left in the first half the Vikings gets their second FG thanks to strong passing from their QB Vincent Snyder. The Rednecks has only 42 yards of offense as Minnesota's strong defensive line stays in control. In the third quarter Minnesota scores a third FG to go nine points ahead, until Richmond's Parton makes a FG in the beginning of the fourth quarter. Only a six-point lead, but without Tumulty, the Rednecks doesn't seem to have enough firepower. They need a big play from the defense to escape from this deficit. But Snyder continues to hit clutch passes on third down and throws a touchdown pass with 07:39 left. The final score is 20-3 and Richmond's season is over. No retirements. Last season we had an 69.700 attendance, or 89.8%. Fan loyalty is up to 70. I raise ticket prices to $54,58,71,91,0,4000,155000 and 155000 for the 20 VR boxes. Revenues increased with 6% and cost decreased 8%, but we still lost $90 mil. Franchise values: Stadium 25, Roster 100, Support 69, Economy 54. No franchise player designation. Franchise value is $986 mil. We are $26 mil under the cap. I cut T Kenny Cedeno, saving $3.1 mil in cap salary. I also cut DT Corwin McNeil, saving $2.7 mil. LB R.J. Stevens also gets the axe to save $3.6 mil. I re-negotiate with S Clyde Cochrane who was in his last year of the contract, giving him 3 more years for $18.4 mil. I also consider cutting CB Jason Granata but decide to wait until I see what the market for cornerbacks is. All these cuts where of backups that earned starter's money. Now we are $36.2 mil under the cap. We target linemen in free agency, and one of the best available is DE Jon Aquadro of Minnesota. T Artie Van Pelt from Buffalo is also a possibility. Both are 7-year veterans drafted in the first round. We decide on Aquadro, who gets an offer of 3 yr, $26 mil since there are two other tackles available that might last until week 10. But Aquadro signs immediately with St. Louis for $33 mil. Van Pelt is pending a $29 mil offer from Pittsburgh. I raise the bidding level with a 4-yr, $34.4 mil contract. It does me no good - he signs with the Steelers in week 3. I change focus and go after a true shutdown corner in New Orleans' Carlton Guthrie. And in week 9, he signs with Atlanta. I finally get a T in Skip Chuang as he signs for 2 yrs, $13 mil. One drawback though - he's played for 16 years. There are some linebackers available in week 11, I decide to wait until giving them offers to get the price tag down. In week 20, I give an offer to LB Mitchell Roden. He has potential but not much else, but I'm curious to see if he pans out. I also re-sign restricted free agent WR Chester Theophilakos, since he was the youngest unsigned player on the roster who my scout estimated as Very Good in the future. K Raymond Parton is also re-signed. I cut CB Granata and re-sign CB Travis Samuel instead. No retirements this year either. Both my coach and scout's contracts are up. I offer them both 3-year extensions with a slight raise to the scout. Coach Stokes resigns immediately, but Cleveland tops my offer for my scout. I raise my bid to $1.32 mil for 4 years. It will kill my finances, but I truly believe he's the best in the league. I choose to stay put with my current ticket prices for this year. Fan loyalty is 71. Attendance went down with 3100 last year to 66.600, or 85,8% Revenues increased with 15% and cost increased with 1%, making my loss only $66 mil - a significant improvement. Franchise value is Fair(27) for the stadium, VG(73) for the roster, VG(71) for support, and Good(56) for economy. Total value is $960 mil. I franchise a player for the first time - TE Rodney O'Malley. As a two-time All-Pro he's easily among the top 5 TE's in the league. Besides, he has only Average(47) loyalty. Now I am in some cap trouble - I have 34 players signed and only $3.3 mil under the cap. Time to cut some more overpaid veterans. But I realize QB Sammy Hope's cap figure of $22.3 mil can be lowered this year since he's in his final year of the contract. I give him a three-year extension worth $50 mil which gives him a cap figure of $16.9 mil instead. DT Pat Rogers is also due for an extension which will reduce his cap figure with almost $5 mil. I am tempted to cut former bust QB Dwight Clinton, but he has two years left on the contract, and the hit on the cap will be about $5.3 mil this year and next. It would get me an extra $5 mil in cap room, however. LB Conrad Ahn also signed a renegotiated contract of three years worth $22.5 mil. I put the axe on WR Morris Murphy, freeing $7.3 mil to give me $23.1 mil cap salary available. Will it be enough? I'm going to need an estimated $8.4 mil to sign my draftees. Incredibly, I'm dead last in the league regarding cap room - San Diego can buy players for a staggering $97 mil. I cut T Rico Savoy, giving me $2 mil more. I might cut DE Dixon Huettner later, he's making $8 mil but looks like he's slipping this year. S Corey Ligeski is also on the bubble.

I'm having a severe difficulty to compete in the free agent bidding war. After losing out on four top prospects despite being the highest bidder, I started searching desperately after anyone on the defensive side worth signing. After bidding on four(!) players simultaneously, S Rich Arquette finally agreed to my terms. I quickly withdrew my other bids and breathed a sign of relief I could avoid the same situation as last year - being unable to sign anyone in the first 10 weeks.
Arquette is no star, although solid, but he does have a high Interception attribute and will form a nice tandem with Clyde Cochrane. In week 11, I offer a 3-yr contract to another S, Jim Banks. He's a 2nd-year player with low current values but with high potential, you could call him a "project". Another 2nd-year project with high potential is CB Jimmy Favor. I offer him a 3-yr, $13 mil contract. I look for potential rather than current value because there aren't any starters left in free agency. The third such player is DT Stan Tyler who is offered two years for $5 mil. All sign within two weeks. Meanwhile, San Diego sign away LB David Prescott for $13 mil. I cut S Corey Ligeski to raise my cap room to $20 mil. S Michael Lindsay gets a 3-year deal. Now my revamped secondary needs only one more CB. Still, I have only three linebackers under contract. Offensive tackle is another priority - I've got only two on the roster. On to the draft. I pick as no. 30, and the linebacker crop looks pretty deep to me. It's not a good year for tackles though. We really should see some cohesion kick in this year - the entire offensive line of last year is intact, and on offense is only Theophilakos the new starter. DE Back, LB Roden and S Arquette is the new starters on defense. But apparently the "expansion effect" on cohesion is still handicapping us, cohesion is 52-59-52-50.
Arquette is an upgrade at safety, Back is about the same, although with a brighter future, as the guy he replaced. Roden is perhaps a downgrade at linebacker, but on the other hand is depth at that position much better. In exhibition week two LB Buchman breaks several ribs and is out 2-3 months. I release CB Cornelius Bensen and sign LB Kennedy McDonald. We finish pre-season 1-3 with starting WR Schroeder listed as questionable, among the reserves are Buchman and Lindsay out and Samuel doubtful. We survived a rash of injuries early in the regular season and came out of a week 10 bye with only light injuries to three defensive players and a 7-2 record. A three-game losing streak left us tied with three teams for the division lead at 9-6 before the final game. Another loss vs the 5-10 New York Giants left the Rednecks at 9-7 and out of the playoffs.

Franchise values is 25 for the stadium, 100 for the roster, 73 for support and 56 for economy, and total value is $1078 mil. A shock - I'm $4.7 mil OVER the cap - the first time ever I've seen that. Welcome to the cruel world of NFL capologists. But now, at last, I get the satisfaction of cutting QB Dwight Clinton and his obscene contract off my roster to gain $11.9 mil in cap room. After some more cuts and some re-negotiation of contracts about to expire I find myself in a somewhat better position - with $20.3 mil to spare against the cap. No retirements. Ticket prices stays the same. We'll have to return to the playoffs before we can start thinking about raising the prices. Fan loyalty went up to 77. Attendance was 69.500, or 89.5%. A slight decline. Revenues went up with 3% and cost went down with 5% - that's the way to do it - and our loss was $88 mil. How long can we continue to keep up with this? I'm in good company though - Greensboro lost $190 mil last year. Franchise values is 22 for the stadium, 93 for the roster, 76 for support and 58 for economy. Total value is $1069 mil. I'm $5.1 mil under the cap - a lot better situation than last year - but QB Sammy Hope - the starter for the first six years of this franchise - is screwed now. His season-ending injury put the end to the player he once was. $19.5 mil against the cap for someone now best suited as backup. The good news is that he can be cut at any time since he's in his final year of the contract. I franchise C Bernard Simmons - in his 11th year and better than ever with ratings 96/97/56. The only other UFA is WR Theophilakos who won't be resigned. Our cohesion is finally starting to come together - we´re Very Good in all areas except offensive line. But Passing cohesion is bound to take a hit with Hope's imminent departure. I cut Hope. RB Al Tumulty gets three more years for $44 mil. DT Rogers also gets cut - I've got to go with all the young guys now at DT. After some more contract extensions we've got $29 mil in cap room. I get an intriguing trade proposal. Carolina Panthers wants my 4th-year DE Randal Back, a starter last year who's in his final year and wants to double his salary. In return they offer QB Bernie Rudy, a 12-year vet plus a sixth-round pick. There are no starting-caliber quarterbacks available in free agency and perhaps only two worthy prospects in the draft. However, at least five defensive ends better than my man Back is available in the FA process. Three of them is a LOT better. As I don't seem to have any choice, I accept the trade. But Rudy counts for $14.7 mil against the cap which leaves us with $17 mil left, and $10 is reserved for our draft picks. I decide against making offers to any of the top players on the FA market in the first 10 weeks. In week 13 I sign talented LB Donnie Figures - I kept any eye on him in last year's draft. Whew, we made it through preseason with just three players listed as probable, the best health the team has been in at this point since we started the WLC.
We narrowly lost the first game due to two crucial fumbles by my designated kickoff/punt returner Sims. I bench him and also make a change on the defensive line by putting my third-string DT Long at DE instead of Blair in an attempt of getting the best players on the field. The result is two blowout wins, and I'm feeling good about this year's team. QB Rudy plays efficient, error-free football as we ground it out and control the ball. But in week 11 and 12 we get bit by the injury bug again and drop a couple of games. As I only have two healthy defensive ends I have to release CB Givens and sign DE Paddock. In the next game DE Blair breaks the fibula (whatever that is) and is put on IR. I release CB Belanger and sign DE Pound. Along the way towards yet another 8-8 record, starting LBs Ahn and Place both suffers season-ending injuries.
The 408 points scored this season is a new franchise record, and 2nd best in the league, just one point behind Tampa Bay. 297 points allowed is good enough for 14th place. We just couldn't win the close games, as all losses except one was by 7 points or less, and with four games lost by only three points or less. Cleveland beats Chicago 38-10 in the Super Bowl. Our first division title and a first-round bye in the playoffs!!! With Philadelphia and Cleveland we have the best regular-season record with 12-4, earning home-field advantage through the playoffs. This is remarkably healthy going into the post-season, and I hope it will be decisive. Chicago takes the opening kickoff and moves 44 yards to take the lead 3-0 with 07:11 left in the first quarter. On Richmond's first drive to follow that, Tumulty rips off a 27-yard run and a Lander scramble for 11 yards on a 3rd and 6 situation leads eventually to Lander finding FB Bradford for 9-yd TD pass to take the lead 7-3. 87 yards in 7 minutes and 19 seconds. With a Duffy FG and Bradford's second TD of the day, a 17-yd run with 46 seconds left in the first half, the score was 17-3 to Richmond after the two quarters. But Chicago came back into the game with an 80-yard score from Harvey to Wells right after, making it 24-10 with 8:34 left in the third quarter. A winning record(3-1) in preseason for the first time. LB Blackburn and CB Schulz are the injured starters going into the regular season.
QB Lander got hurt after a 3-0 start of the season and the Rednecks dropped the next three games. When second-string QB Valentine injured his throwing shoulder then undrafted rookie free agent QB Reilly had to take the reins. Lander was rushed back into the starting lineup by week nine after a four-game losing streak and turned the offense around, making the half way record 4-4, third in the division. But he aggravated his bruised sternum yet again and returned to the inactive list. In week 10 RB Tumulty broke his hand and was rendered inactive as well. Following him later as inactive starters were TE Whiting and WR Dove. In week 12 Lander's injury status was elevated to questionable, and switched places once more with Valentine from the inactive list. WR Duffy became the fifth starter on offense to miss games due to injury. A three-game winning streak after Lander's second comeback put us at fourth place in the division with the record 7-7. Technically, we're still in the hunt for the final playoff spot, but 8-6 Atlanta is the clear favorite. We end the season with games at home vs Green Bay and away at Manchester. We lose by three points vs the 11-3 Packers and misses the playoffs one year after our maiden Super Bowl win. We lose the Manchester game as well to finish 7-9.

We finish preseason 2-2 with only CB Franklin and DE Cottle lightly injured.
Cohesion is VG(73), VG(77), VG(66), EX(81). With RB Tumulty's skills in decline, we're entering the regular season with the most pass-oriented game plan the Rednecks ever had, which probably will mean a 50-50 run-pass ratio instead of the extreme 70-30 that we used five years ago.
We earn a first week bye and homefield advantage through the playoffs on the strength of our week 12 win over Tampa Bay, who also is 13-3. Entering the playoffs we have four players listed as probable and one, WR Duffy, who maybe is out for the season. He currently is listed as doubtful after being out with a broken wrist since week 5. Divisional playoffs vs St. Louis Rams. We start nervously with two penalties before going for three downs and a punt. But our defense seem to be sharp today as St. Louis is forced to punt on both of their first two drives without having yet gained a first down. On our third drive RB Tumulty suddenly gets going and runs like in the old days, together with Lander's passing moving the Rednecks to the Ram's 7-yard line. One play later Richmond takes the lead on Lander's pass to WR Huffman with 02:29 remaining in the first quarter. We have gained 130 yards and held St. Louis to just 11 yards rushing, with no yards in the air. In the second quarter the Rednecks add a Duffy FG before RB Tumulty follows a great block by T Lowe and takes it to the house for a 62-yard TD run. But on the next drive does the Rams put their first points on the scoreboard with an 11-yard pass from QB Oliveria to WR Sosa to make the score 17-7 with 03:23 remaining in the first half. In the second half started Richmond to run the ball to eat away on the clock with great success. K Duffy hit 4 FGs to set the final result to 29-7. Conference championship vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers. CB Knox fumbles the opening kickoff and Tampa recovers on our 40-yard line. But three plays later S Arquette intercepts Buccaneers QB Johnson's pass and returns the ball to the Tampa Bay 25-yard line. Moments later K Duffy misses a 36-yd FG. Instead Tampa takes the lead 3-0 later in the first quarter. Early in the third quarter the Buccaneers scores the first touchdown of the game to pull ahead 12-0. At this point they have held the Rednecks to two first downs and 44 total yards. But thanks to lost fumbles by the opposition on two successive drives we manage to turn the game around in the span of a few minutes late in the third quarter by passing for two quick touchdowns, both to TE Whiting, giving Richmond a three-point lead at the score 15-12 going into the final quarter. The home team's defense finally stiffens and holds Tampa Bay's offense scoreless until Tumulty runs for a 40-yard touchdown with 07:23 left. QB Johnson answers right back with a TD pass of his own, cutting the lead to 22-19. The Buccaneers attemps an onside kick, and is penalized four times for kicking the ball out of bounds before Richmond's Freeman can recover on the Tampa 21-yd line. Lander immediately hands off to Tumulty who goes in for the TD and the Rednecks are ahead with 10 points with 05:35 left to play. They add a Duffy FG before the Buccaneers score another touchdown with 19 seconds left. When the ensuing onside kick is recovered by Richmond again, this extremely exciting game is finally over and the Rednecks are back in the Super Bowl! Final score: 32-26. Tampa's QB Johnson passed for 406 yards and three touchdowns. The Buccaneers had five turnovers, we had four - but we scored 14 points off the turnovers while Tampa only managed three. Super Bowl vs Baltimore Ravens. We have WR Duffy, C Simmons and G McConnell listed as questionable. Baltimore has several players out for the game, and is particularly thin at WR and DL. With 04:41 left in the first quarter, the Ravens take the early lead with a 5-yd pass from QB Kestner to WR James. The Rednecks start slow yet again, having gained only 8 yards total at this point. In the third quarter do Richmond finally put points on the scoreboard when QB Lander hits WR Huffman with 24-yd scoring strike to beat the heavy blitzing. With 04:11 remaining of the third quarter and Baltimore in the lead 10-7, Ravens no. 52 Sheffield gets ejected for punching an opponent. On the next drive we go the length of the field on three big plays: Lander 30-yd pass to WR Duffy, RB Tumulty 24-yd run, and Lander 27-yd touchdown pass to WR Duffy to take the lead 14-10 with 01:03 left in the 3rd. After forcing the Ravens to go three and out on the following drive, Richmond strikes with one more big play: Tumulty caps his outstanding post-season with bursting loose on a 67-yd run down to the Baltimore 14-yd line. The Ravens are in disarray, with players screaming at each other in panic, and subsequently draws a penalty for having too many men on the field. It's 1st and 5 on the 9-yd line with 14:08 left in the game and Lander calmly tosses the ball to WR Rose in the back of the endzone, extending the lead to 21-10. The teams trades punts once each before Raven's QB Kestner throws an interception to S Lucas, who returns it 11 yards to the Baltimore 30-yd line. From there coach Fisk calls three successive run plays - RB Murphy for 6, RB Tumulty for 14, and FB Bradford for 10 yards and the TD. QB Kestner moves his team quickly in response and reduces the gap to 28-18 with a 27-yd pass to WR Mickus, and a successful 2-point conversion. But it is too little, too late, and backup QB Valentine can run out the clock. The Lombardi Trophy has returned to Richmond! I try with comparing the estimates with last season's, to see if this format is equivalent to the pre-camp/post-camp format I've used to track breakouts/busts. FA aquisition LB Swift cracks the starting lineup, but is more of a sign of weak linebacking corps this year. I carry unusually many tackles as this was targeted as a crucial position, this obsessiveness might have lead to some oversights at other needs. The steal of the draft was 3rd-round pick WR Baskerville, a red-liner whose ratings exploded in camp. Last year's 2nd-round pick, T Brewer, redeemed himself after his failed rookie season and should see some playing time this season. 6th round pick Johnson probably will start at DE. A 2-2 record in preseason, a couple of injuries, mainly on defense. Starters Schulz and Swift listed as questionable and doubtful.
We battle injuries all season and put two plyers on IR but somehow manage to win the division and earn a first-round bye. This team is tough and resilient!
QB Jerome Lander leads the league in passing yardage with 4462 yards, the third-most yards ever in a season. Divisional playoffs vs Minnesota Vikings. We fall behind 14-0 but QB Lander leads a furious second half rally and the score is 17-17 with four minutes left to play. But Minnesota hits a 29-yd FG as time expires to win. Lost 17-20. Unrestricted free agents: RB Al Tumulty DE Kirk Bruce FB Thurman Bradford CB Marco Sutter I can't franchise Bradford again - it comes down on loyalty - which Bruce and Sutter don't have - so it's between them. I choose Bruce because of the lack of depth at DE. Tumulty wants a 4-year, $73 million contract - it's insane money for a 34-year old RB with his best years long behind him. I want to keep him because he's idolized by the fans and will attract people to the team. But at what price? Apparently Portland is willing to pay just that kind of price. CB Sutter is offered $84 mil by Cleveland. I sign K Tatum for 2 yrs, $4.3 mil. Carolina tops Portland's offer for Tumulty - it's 5 years, $87.5 mil now... Cleveland withdraws their bid for Sutter in week 9 - Tumulty is still unsigned. Then next week Carolina goes over the cap as well and Tumulty hasn't an offer anymore. I sign TE Deion McGregor in week 14 for 2 years, $10 mil.

Rednecks QB Lander has a hard time getting anything going, but at the beginning on the 2nd quarter Seahawks QB Cote is sacked by DE Hopkins and fumbles the ball, which is recovered by S Ballard and returned 6 yds for the touchdown. The Seattle offense is clearly rattled by that and Richmond go ahead a little later with a K Raymond FG. Right before the halftime signal do the Rednecks kick another FG for the score 13-7. The Seahawks regain the lead with 08.49 left in the third quarter with a Patton TD run. Richmond QB Lander responds immediately with a long drive which ends with a 14-yd TD pass to WR Baskerville to make the score 19-14. With 12:10 left in the game does RB Berdys follow a downfield block by C Simmons and explode up the middle for 73 yards before being pulled down at the 12-yd line. The Rednecks have to settle for yet another FG to pull ahead with 8 points. Seattle QB Cote hit WR Rivera for a 4-yd TD pass with 04:13 remaining but fails on the two-point conversion, and the score is 22-20. On the next drive, K Raymond nails a 50-yd FG to extend Richmond's lead to 5 points, and only 02:09 remains. QB Cote's desperation pass on 3rd and 11 is intercepted by CB Franklin and returned 17 yards to the Richmond 48. Bernard Simmons and Al Tumulty retired. RB Tumulty was drafted first overall by Richmond in 2019 and finished second on the all-time career rushing yardage list with 15363 yards, 406 less than leader Emmitt West. However, he might lose that status as soon as sometime during the 2032 season since Brian Reeves of Green Bay is still active, and only 149 yards behind. Tumulty is also third in career rushing attempts with 3400 and third in career rushing touchdowns with 131. Divisional playoffs vs Portland. WIN 34-20. An exciting game that was tied 20-20 with only half a quarter remaining. We gained a total of 215 yards on the ground.
Game MVP: LB Fortmann, 14 tck, 1 ass, 1 int. RB Hopper 19-110 yds, 2 TDs. Conference championship vs New Orleans. WIN 31-16. This game quickly turned into a rout as we shut down their pass offense until garbage time.
Game MVP: RB Hopper, 14-155 yds, 1 TD. Super Bowl at Seattle Seahawks. Seattle seeks revenge for the SB loss two years ago, and are relatively injury-free, while we have to start injured players at TE and CB. The home team quickly gets into a rhythm and finish the first half in the lead with 17-3. The Rednecks close in with a touchdown halfway through the third quarter but still are behind 7 points. But Lander throws a 37-yd TD pass to Baskerville on the next drive to tie the game at 17-17. When Seattle resumes play QB Cote is sacked by Bruce and Rivera which forces a turnover. Seconds later Richmond scores again to lead for the first time in the game. The scoring frenzy escalates and with 05:59 left to play it's 38-31 to the Rednecks. But now Richmond's defense holds and that remains as the final score. In retrospect, Wendell Cooper's kickoff return touchdown was the big play that turned the game around and made the difference. WIN 38-31.

WR Rondell Rose retired. He was drafted by the Rednecks as the 36th and last pick in the first round of the draft of 2026. The 6-1, 209-pound receiver out of California played for 13 years with Richmond, starting 176 games and appearing in 8 more during his rookie season. During his career he caught 810 passes for 12030 yards and 81 touchdowns, while maintaining a 14.8 average per catch. His finest season was in 2028, when he got 86 balls for 1578 yards and 11 TDs. DT Gilbert Kramer was elected to the Hall of Fame. QB Jerome Lander and FB Elias Albers retired. As a 6-4, 240-pound QB out of Texas, Jerome Lander was selected first overall in the draft of 2024 by Richmond, and played for 18 years, winning seven Super Bowl rings for the Rednecks. He was the Super Bowl MVP in 2025, and was a nine-time All-Pro selection, making the first team seven times. He was a five-time NFL MVP, winning in 2032, 2034-35, 2037, 2040, and was Offensive Player of the year two times, in 2036 and 2037. 1st round pick McDaniel busted. The offensive tackle situation wasn't good before the draft, and it doesn't look any better now. DT Durham's rating took a dive as well, following his injury the previous year. We finished preseason 2-2, with four serious injuries: C Fredrickson out for 2-3 months, WR Fredrickson doubtful 3-5 weeks, RB Croel doubtful 3-5 weeks and DT Chandler questionable 3-5 weeks.
