FOF4: old utility rehashed

With the (somewhat) renewed interest for FOF4 here and with the NFL regular season looming, I thought it might be a good idea to remind about an old utility for FOF4: the FOF4 viewer.

It works similarily as Celeval's TCY viewer, although a little less refined. You open old game logs and can view the game with delayed commentary in the style of CM3.

hehe just took a look at the source code. looks awfully "familiar"

didnt know someone converted my TCY viewer to FOF4. cool.

3ric: I downloaded it, and tried to install, but it keeps giving me something about a Windows file that is out of date, which needs to be upgraded before the installation can continue. The setup asks if I want to upgrade the missing file and reboot, I say fine, the computer reboots, and then it says the same thing to me the next time as well. Humm. Any thoughts what's going on?

Running Windows ME if it helps, and I just upgraded everything a couple of weeks ago.

Hm. I recognize the problem, but can't remember how to solve that... I'll do some tests and will see what I can come up with.

Dola. A suggested solution on the Microsoft website is that it's the file "c:\windows\system32\oleaut32.dll" that needs to be updated. I attach my version of the file (in a zip file) to this post.

I am not familier with this so I will ask the stupid question. What does this do exactly, and if you dont like it or dont want it can you just not use it or do you have to uninstall it or what?

If you save game logs in FOF4, this utility allows you to open them and view the play-by-play with some stat tracking, adjustable speed, scores and graphics for team helmets.

Uninstallation is done through the Control Panel in Windows, "Add/Remove Programs".
