Alaska Fishing Tours?
My friends and I are looking at doing this next year....I want to know...Who has done the guided tours and if so, who did you use and why?
There will be around 6 to 7 of us going. I am they one that is in the spearhead mode for this....so I get to determine how the money get's spent, we then determine who pony's up the deposit. We are looking for a 3 day trip...combo preferred... Let me know.

Just sign up to go king crab fishing. That will give you an adventure.

It's been about 12 years so I couldn't tell you names or places- but I went on a 2 week fishing trip in Alaska and it was awesome. We knew a guy up there that was our guide of sorts. It was great. Halibut, and all kinds of salmon all over.

I assume that you are talking about fresh water. I can't help you there as we did not use a guide.
If you have time (and are near the ocean), I would recommend a day of halibut fishing. We had 6 people and chartered a 30 foot (?) boat for the day. We landed about 800-900 pounds of fish. The largest being 175 pounds. Man, I love Alaska. |

Actually this is what we are looking for...right now some of the prices we are looking at are around 600 a head for a 3 day charter (Halibut/Salmon).

It was several years ago so I don't remember what we paid. Halibut is more of a sure-thing... Salmon can be more hit-or-miss. We didn't fish the saltwater for salmon... just the rivers. |
