I agree. When Lorne Michaels made an appearance, that was it for me.

So psyched for the NFL draft expanding to be covered an extra day now, when we have 2 sports in playoffs + baseball. Def necessary.

"Yes, son. In my day we had 3, 4 major sports. Now, as you understand it, we have football. I'm sorry about your weird fanboy nature to only give a shit about one sport. Thanks, SportsCenter."

I started following him when he went on that tirade recently. I don't get him. I think he's trying to hard to be funny.

He just tweeted "Lady Gaga ask me on a date"

What he is telling us? That he is the man because she asked him out? She's ass ugly. So, I'm not impressed. He has to be joking or something.

I need a job.

Saw one online... They want someone part-time for $8.25/hr. The job requires "occasional handling of toxic and hazardous materials."

Think I'll pass on that one.

That's probably my company prepping their new location for the Sarasota office.

The lease on the current Sarasota office ends in September. They've saved money by leasing a building in a 'brownfield site'. Aka a location that previously had some form of hazardous materials / pollution.

I'm apparently a horrible father.

My 19 year old daughter is in college. She told me her mother went to visit her last weekend & they stayed in a hotel for a "getaway weekend so (she) wouldn't have to deal with dorm drama." She got sick & her mother brought her home to go to their doctor. She drove her back down to attend two days of class, that according to my daughter involve a field trip to a toy store (research for a project) and a petting zoo on campus that she is excited about.

She informs me her mother is "asking family" if they can pick her up and drive her home on Friday so she can go to the doctor again and save "wear & tear on her car." When I replied that my car is acting up, so I know all about the wear & tear, I got emails from her mother that were not very nice...

My offer to buy a bus ticket has gone unanswered. I pointed out that in my opinion, a 19 year old that is well enough to attend class for a field trip & petting zoo can sit on a bus for 4 hours.

I had the pleasure of re-interviewing for my current job this week. I work as a pharmacy courier, and it basically pays the bills. But not a whole bunch else. Anyways, the company with which I contract had its agreement terminated. The new company that came in only wants to pay about 85% as much as the last one for the exact same route. I'm not really happy about that at all.

Some of the dudes I work with are getting cut by like 50-60 bucks a day for the exact same work.

I think I may have something in the works, however, with the current company i work for. Crossing fingers, anyways.

I feel special at work today. First, a brunette begged me to go to her desk so she could give me some very large chocolate chip cookies. They're as big as my head! Later, a blonde begged me to go to her desk so she could also give me some very large chocolate chip cookies. They're as big as my head, too! The most amazing thing is that there are cookies as big as my head, considering how big my head has gotten today.

This totally makes up for the disappointment I had last week when I asked my favorite person in the building if she wanted to be my hot date, and she said no.

Apparently they had difficulty finding a doctor after she "nearly fainted," then when they did find one the doctor "didn't gibe much info." Her doctor here now wants to do a colonoscopy... on a 19 year old whose family has NO history of colon cancer. Yeah... the doctor here apparently told her they had to check to make sure she doesn't have colon cancer.

I'm pretty sure the "Get a 2nd opinion" flag would be waving right now. Blonde hair involved in this one?

Every time I see an episode of "How The Earth Was Made", it makes me want to play SimEarth. Recently I installed a version of the game I have and man, that goes does not hold up. I suppose I shouldn't hold my breathe waiting for Maxis or some other company to make something similar anytime soon.

While nowhere near the worst by any means, the words "I just assumed that Auto-Save was on" are currently some of my least favorite. #smkh*

I found SimEarth to be terribly disappointing, unfortunately. If they wanted to revisit it and make it a lot more robust, however, I'd be curious

My sister-in-law was upgrading her cell phone through Verizon and got confused so she just threw me her credit card and told me to do it for her.

$250 Droid Razr Maxx
$20 in taxes
$30 upgrade fee.

Didn't even cross my mind unfortunately. I was confused when I saw the total price jump from 250 to 300. I assumed the taxes were nuts, but when I saw a $30 "upgrade fee" I was all "whattttttttttt."

It's the new thing, apparently. I read that AT&T has had it for a while.

Yeah, I feel so torn. On the one hand, I want to be as successful as possible, or I fear that I will regret never having made the most of myself. On the other hand, I dream of a carefree life where I can frolic in the fields, take long walks in the woods, explore the world, etc. Else I fear I will never have experienced the wonder of the world around me when I had the glorious chance. I can't do both, so I waffle midstream. What is right? Heck if I know, but it does keep me awake at night ...

I have conducted several more interviews since the initial one. I have not asked any other prospective interns about their shoe sizes, and things have gone well. There have been a couple of very good interviews, a couple of so-so interviews, and a couple of really bad ones. I get that these are college students who don't have much (if any) work experience, but I'm honestly shocked at how ill-prepared some of these kids are for a job interview. One kid used one-sentence answers for everything I asked him. No elaboration. No detail. Dude just didn't want to talk. I asked him very open-ended questions to get him to say something, and he just wasn't up to it. Everyone else who interviewed him dealt with the same thing. I almost punched him in the face just to give him some character (the character would be "college kid stumbling around the building with a black eye").

So I'm in line in the cafeteria here at work and one of my co-workers (female) is talking to the cashier (also female), about how the cashier likes to keep her nuts separate. I told her I couldn't agree more, but, I'm not sure we were talking about the same thing.
