What is your favorite sports story of 2016?
I think this was an awesome year for sports. What was your favorite sports story, or moment, or victory?
At first, I thought it was going to be teh Leicester City win, which was unforgettable. But then LeBron James just LeBronned my heart away. So what's your favorite sports story this year?

Definitely Leicester City, followed by the Cubbies and the Lebron.

Wisconsin Badgers Football - All the pundits and frankly most of the fans had written this off as a down year. Started by beating LSU and had a remarkable season. That was a fun ride.

This would be the top three for me though I go back and forth between the Cavs and the Cubs as to who is #2. Though it was not a sports event per se, I would include the death of Muhammad Ali. Seeing the impact that had on so many people within my parents' generation and hearing how that athlete affected so many people in a way I am not sure will ever happen again was incredible. If I include that, my favorite sports moment would be my father and my son talking about Ali for hours and my son then doing a Ali YouTube dive for hours after that.

Leicester is a pretty great story. My favorite is probably Vimpelin Veto winning a title after losing 5 straight Finnish baseball championship series to their rival, but only because I was pretty invested in the run up to the whole thing.
Oh and well Timbers MLS Cup was pretty epic. |

Cubs World Series, without a close second. Of course, that is based upon nearly 40 years of actively rooting for the team. I recognize that the Leicester City win was far more improbable, but that particular sport doesn't resonate for me in the same way. Jumping up and down with my daughter, when her favorite player (Addison Russell) hit a grand slam in Game 6 of the World Series is my best moment, even though there were many more significant moments throughout a suspenseful Game 7.
Cavs coming back over Golden State was pretty monumental, as well. Not the outcome I wanted, but James was amazing and seeing the Warriors surrender a 3-1 lead after their charmed season was compelling TV. |

I would've appreciated Leicester more if I followed the Premier League, but my Cavs coming back from 3-1 down to beat the greatest regular season team in NBA history is it for me.
