Crap, I new I was forgetting something. I had a couple guys I meant to make offers to and didn't. I was doing my draft list as my final thing last night and the game closed on me, had to re-do it today and forgot to offer contracts. Poop-a-loop.

I got #4 and #11, but I only went 20 deep this year. Happy with who I got, though. I had Morales as the best hitter in the draft, and Cochrane as the best 3B (hard position to fill).

2,8,12,20

Should have put the closer ahead of the 2B but very satisfied with what I got.

Not too shabby of a draft for me. I just wish the closer would have fallen a few more spots. Also interesting to note, of the three teams with the same record there in the middle, Atlanta, Brooklyn, and Colorado, went B, A, C. I'd really like to know how that was figured out.

New file is up!

Happy Trick or Treating to all tommorrow. Steal some of your kid's candy and enjoy the 1982 regular season afterwards. If you don't have kids, jump out of the bushes and mug some other kid, steal their candy and then come back for the sim.

Good luck to all!

5, 8 10, 23, 25 here. 5 rounds, not bad for a 34 player list.

Not sure I would say it's the FOF version, since it still takes a few weeks to do a full season, but it's the closest you will get I think. I signed up for it.

STUPID OOTP crashes on me after setting all my lineups and pitching staff. Thankfully I hadn't done all my individual strategies and minors moves.

This would be very interesting to know. From what I can tell the following can be said:

The order is NOT determined by:
Team Number
Runs Allowed
Financials (Attendance, Payroll, Balance)

Order is possibly be determined by:
Runs Scored
VORP

I tend to believe that the order goes off of the lowest VORP from the previous season since many feel that the game already places too much emphasize on VORP why not add more.

I don't know if the game uses an entire team's combined VORP for anything currently. It does use VORP fairly heavily for individual players in various considerations, but VORP isn't really a team based stat in OOTP.

I am starting to wonder if it is just random in cases where head to head does not apply.

I'm actually cool with that, vs a bunch of other stupid ways to do it.

Well, I believe in MLB, if there is a tie between two teams that have no head to head record, or a tie between three different teams, it defaults to looking at the season before the last one for the tiebreaker. In OOTP case, that obviously did not happen otherwise Atlanta would have picked behind the other two here.

To try and test this I ran a 50 team league for one game. I ended up with 8 teams tied at an 0-2 record. From this it appears that it is completely random who goes where. I saw nothing that would indicate that there is any logic as to who drafts where.

Hey guys,

didn't get a chance to do a draft order, but I am happy to see that the AI was kind enough to hit my biggest need, SP's. Very, very happy to see that!

Chicago will have an export tonight, and unlike our spiritual brothers--the Tampa Bay Rays, we will suck again this year. But....but, we learned some things this offseason about FA, and we'll be ready come next Monday night!

FYI, I have had some good leads for new jobs the last two days and I am strongly considering becoming an Officer in the Air Force, since I have a aviation degree and have passion for all things airplanes. Things are looking up.

I *knew* it! The NOTAM was a dead giveaway.

Glad to hear you might have some stuff lined up. Good luck!

Bit late for this, but this was a great post Alan
