Okay I kid, I did try lowballing him one day, but he didn't want it. I kinda lowballed this last time, but it looks like it was the best deal. I'm surprised he took it for 2 years though. Sad thing is I didn't leave a spot for him and he'll ride out the regular season in AAA, where there was a spot left just for him. If I make the post season, he'll be a boost for sure.

Not surprised at all to suck from the start. I really think I have eliminated a lot of the wiggle room I have had in the past. Too many trades means no cheap, young good talent now, or not much anyway. I have some good players on the way, but they're still two or three years away.

FYI, I gambled on a 4 man rotation, when I probably had the horses for a 5 man. I thought sending my top 4 out every time would work better, though. Maybe I was wrong.

I think you'll be fine. Like I said last season, I have been running one for four seasons now with great success, and muns has been doing it for a lot longer than that. But you do need a good pen.

Well, close to .500 ball in May at least.

I shouldn't be bad. Not this bad. I just thought, though, that I was certainly going to fall off from last year and the year before.

Really, I wanted to break this thing up. Too bad no one was interested in my players.

Hmm.. looks like in my attempt to fix the schedule some that people mentioned being messed up... the all star game ended back in the middle of June for this season.

Well RL beat the CL 8-2

Looks like my hitters haven't woken up. Great. Would have liked to see a reliever in there too.

We are at the halfway point in the season, and with Napa Valley and Hartford pulling out to early leads this is like dejavu from the early 1980s or something!

Anyhows, if anyone has a player request to see how they are doing this season so far, post them up here. Limit of one per team so this doesn't take forever.

I am one of the biggest honks for the CL around usually, but I have to say. This league sucks right now. Or at least has reached an extreme level of parity that isn't as exciting from a team domination point of view.

I'm two games under .500--and four games out of the playoffs.

P.S. Hello, Teach! Napa Valley coming back to relevance after a couple years off.

I'll take that for my rookie. Especially that WHIP. I guess his control filled out some.

I have actually! Nice to see some posts from owners here I haven't seen much of in two weeks or more.

You always had the hitting. I wasn't sure how your pitching was coming along, but I guess it's doing just fine.

I was definitely worried about the pitching as well but I got a couple guys with solid numbers in FA and I guess that was enough for now.

Is your major league staff much different from what's visible to me right now?

There are some solid guys there (glad to see former ATL farmhand Gates looks to be one of your better guys), but I would have to say it's just an okay staff unless you got some studs at AAA. But you had a very good offense last I checked, so you only need to have a decent staff if your lineup is ripping it up.

It's amazing to me that we're making a run. Two straight months of some 10 wins more than losses (didn't do the math, but figure something like 19-9).

Of course, this leaves to wonder where we would be without the awful start (26-36 through June 1).

Looks like the CL is going to be interesting this year after all.

I still don't think I have a playoff worthy team (and will probably prove that here soon).

There are some solid guys there (glad to see former ATL farmhand Gates looks to be one of your better guys), but I would have to say it's just an okay staff unless you got some studs at AAA. But you had a very good offense last I checked, so you only need to have a decent staff if your lineup is ripping it up.

Oh no, I really meant "solid" as in "good/ok". There are no surprises tonight. That's where the luck comes in.

Hartford has clinched another Regular Season RL title and has one of the two playoff spots from that league.

Baltimore has a magic # of 7 for the CL lead.

Colorado's magic number for winning the Republic Shield is 8 while Atlanta has a magic # of 10 for the Continental CUp

Does smith has 3 starts left? Can he get 30 wins?

Had a feeling that was bound to happen. I have to get up early for the installation of a new water heater so I'll see what sad fate my team met in the morning. Good luck all!
