Sunday, June 5th, 2022: Linseman Collects Hit Number 2000
Alec Linseman's bat made good contact with the ball as he has many times in his career, but this time it added his name to an elite list of players with 2000 hits. The Boston shortstop went to the plate 5 times and racked up 3 hits to gain the honor. But the Settlers couldn't pull off a win -- they fell to the Napa Valley Winemakers, 7-3.

Lifetime Linseman has hit for a .293 average and totaled 2001 hits, 86 home runs and 755 RBIs.

It is all star time. If anyone has requests of a player that they would like a mid-season update on, please post now. I'll give them all after the all star game is done.

Three Pitcher of the Month awards in a row for Sierra:

Friday, July 1st, 2022: Heroes Starter Wins RL Pitching Award
Juan Sierra of New York had an award-winning June as he took home the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award.

"He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Sierra's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in June except for Juan."

Sierra was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 4-0 record in 6 starts. He struck out 51 batters in 47 innings and kept opponents to a .218 batting average.

His record this year is 13-2 in 21 starts and Sierra has a 1.75 ERA.

The CL pitcher of the month of June:

Friday, July 1st, 2022: June's CL Top Pitcher is Assassins Horton
Michael Horton's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 4-1 in June, the 32-year-old Apex hurler has been named Continental League Pitcher of the Month.

He fanned 32 in 35.1 innings, logged an ERA of 3.06 and allowed opponents to hit .244 against him.

His record this season is 6-6 in 16 starts and Horton has a 4.43 ERA.

He batted .363 with 9 home runs, 26 RBIs and 16 runs scored.

In 2022 Colón is currently batting .378 with 22 home runs and 74 RBIs. In 82 games he has reached base at a .473 rate and scored 69 runs to date.

Romero with another Hitter of the month award:

Friday, July 1st, 2022: CL's Top Hitter Selected
There's nothing like putting up good, solid numbers in the last year of your contract. Today Héctor Romero helped his contract negotiations by nabbing June's Continental League Batter of the Month honors.

The Baltimore second baseman put together a .416 batting average with 7 home runs, 11 RBIs and 16 runs scored.

Someone will surely be opening up the vault this offseason if Romero continues at this brisk pace.

In 2022 Romero is hitting .345 with 102 hits, 27 home runs, 60 RBIs, .444 OBP and has scored 59 runs.

A second Rookie of the month award for Miguel Rodriguez:

Friday, July 1st, 2022: Catcher Honored by RL
Miguel Rodríguez earned June's Rookie of the Month honors in the Republic League for last month's performance. The boyish Hammersmith catcher might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level.

Rodríguez hit .293 with 2 home runs, 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award.

On the season, Rodríguez is batting .277 with 5 home runs and 43 RBIs. He has played in 76 games.

... and a third for Baltimore's Whittingham:

Friday, July 1st, 2022: CL Chooses Rookie of the Month
A boyish Oliver Whittingham emerged as the latest Continental League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Baltimore deserved the honor, batting .292 with no home runs and 9 runs batted in. Is the month of June a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Whittingham enjoy the limelight.

This year Whittingham has hit at a .294 clip with 52 RBIs, 7 home runs and 40 runs scored.

Well it seems he turned down his own contract that he wanted at 15-16 mil per season. I cant wait to see what it is after this.....

you knew it was going to happen. Remind me, was it the first month in FOOL 1.0 that you usually sucked in, then decided to turn it on big time at the end????

Hasegawa makes a news story as well... for the wrong reason!

Tuesday, July 5th, 2022: Rastelli Goes Long 3 Times
Fans from Boston are still buzzing after Boston whipped the Charm 5-2 today at Ballpark of Boston. Reginaldo Rastelli smashed three home runs in the game. This is a feat that few players ever achieve and few fans ever see.

In a tremendous performance the center fielder bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 4 RBIs and scored 3 times.

At the postgame press conference, he was asked what it felt like to hit three home runs in one game. Rastelli answered, "To get one homer is special... two is great... three is just unbelievable!"

R. Rastelli hit a solo-shot off R. Hasegawa in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off R. Hasegawa in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off K. Kim in the 9th.

To date this season Rastelli is hitting .221 with 16 home runs.

Oh yeah, that was us to a tee.

I fear this time our "surge" will propel us to the 5th pick, instead of a 1st or 2nd. This team is really bad.

I am fairly sure this was not off of Hasegawa however!

Friday, July 8th, 2022: Archambault Raps Baltimore for 6 Hits
It was a great day at the plate for Thomas Archambault of the Apex Assassins. He collected 6 hits in 6 tries, but his club still came up short in the win column. The Baltimore Charm racked up the victory, topping the Assassins by the score of 20-1.

T. Archambault singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

So far this season Archambault has gotten 19 hits in 76 at-bats for a .250 batting average with 1 home run. His stats include 7 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has played in 36 games.

The July Pitcher of the month in the RL:

Monday, August 1st, 2022: Esquivel #1 RL Pitcher in July
Carlos Esquivel of Ann Arbor had an award-winning July as he took home the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award.

"He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Esquivel's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in July except for Carlos."

Esquivel was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 6-2 record in 8 starts. He struck out 43 batters in 58 innings and kept opponents to a .231 batting average.

Over the season Esquivel has thrown 170.1 innings and dished out 136 strikeouts with a 12-9 mark and a 4.81 ERA.

Quero continues a huge month for him:

Monday, August 1st, 2022: Quero Best CL Starter in July
Despite the number of years he's been in the league, Emmett Quero still gets excited when he puts together a quality stretch like he had in July. The 35-year-old starter for Montreal was named Continental League Pitcher of the Month earlier today.

He collected 4 wins and 1 loss with 54 strikeouts in his 7 starts, putting up a fine 1.99 ERA in 45.1 innings of work.

This year Quero has compiled a 16-6 mark with a 2.20 ERA in 28 starts.
