post-biopsy urine

My father in law just had a biopsy for prostate cancer and has urine in his blood. Does anyone know how long this might last? thanks.

I don't remember. My *guess* would be a few days. However, I'd strongly encourage him to call the doctor who did the biopsy and ask that question.

Thanks. Yes, he'll talk to the doctor soon. My wife just asked me to do some checking.

Do you actually mean Blood in his Urine; which is quite common?

Because I would be very concerned if there was urine in his blood.... but, how would you know this anyway?

I figured it was a sardonic comment, kind of like my dad asking my mom if she wanted coffee in her cream.

I don't think it happened quite in that way, but it would explain my cheery disposition.
