Report: Marcus Vick could be involved in shooting
Quote:
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on June 30, 2010 6:36 PM ET
So I went on the Game 102.1 FM in Virginia Beach this afternoon to talk about Michael Vick. Before the segment was over, the hosts (Johnny D. and Bartley Barefoot) proceeded to break some news.

The radio station has sources that Marcus Vick, Michael's brother, was involved in the shooting that took place after Vick's 30th birthday party last Friday morning. It's uncertain what "involved" means here precisely. ESPN's Adam Schefter said earlier on Wednesday that he believes the shooter will turn himself in to authorities soon.

I was surprised initially to hear the Marcus Vick connection, and couched my response with a lot of "ifs" and "possiblys" regarding the situation. Barefoot had no such equivocation, saying his sources were sure Marcus Vick was involved.

We'll continue to track the story, as will a growing number of national sources. ESPN led their NFL coverage today on air and online with Michael Vick's timeline problem.

The longer this story drags on, the more uncomfortable it grows for Vick, not to mention the Eagles and Roger Goodell.

Vick could really use that shooter to come forward quickly

The other report that came out and said that Michael Vick had left the party about 3 minutes before the shooting really has to make me wonder now...

Why do bad things always seem to happen to good people?

You know your life is not going to plan when you're the black sheep in the Vick family.

"This is my son Michael. He threw away millions in the NFL running an illegal dog-killing ring and spent years in prison. Here's my other son Marcus. He, on the other hand, is a bit of a fuck-up."

Am I the only one that thinks the "timeline problem" is a bit of an odd story? Michael says he left "10 minutes before", and the media breathlessly reports security video shows he left only 3 minutes before. Both sides agree he was gone before the shots were fired, and assuming (a big assumption) he wasn't involved, how would he know precisely when the shots were fired? Now, it's looking likely that Marcus either paid someone to shoot Phillips, or someone in the entourage did it out of loyalty, but Michael being mistaken on the exact timeline doesn't necessarily seem to point to guilt.

Ok...I'll play Mr. Obvious here....how the hell do you wind up with people at your birthday party that you (or friends of your's) would possibly want to shoot?

I mean...this completely ignores the concept that shooting people is actually wrong, immoral, bad for business, etc. Or that shooting people generally tends to be something you dont get away with. It's like these guys have no developed sense of self-preservation...what a GD idiot.

By advertising your birthday party on Facebook and Twitter and selling tickets for $50 a pop.
