Amazing that the Jets should now end up with Adams and a CB they like. There are 9 CBs at 6' or taller that are similarly ranked and the Jets have the 7th pick in round 2. They could remake that secondary pretty quickly.

The Vikings are expected not to pick up Bridgewater's 5th year option. He basically has no incentive to hurry back at this point and may as well focus on 2018 for a new team.

The NFL net had a commercial with Rich Eisen describing a guy who said he drafts based on Astrological signs and I swear I could hear QS laughing...

Good read here. Shows a lot of teams are still likely using the Jimmy Johnson trade chart.

He'll get a much better contract if he actually shows he can play this year.

don't be surprised if the Cardinals trade up to the top of the first round to get Kizer. They worked him out a lot and seem to think he is a good fit.

don't be surprised if I am completely wrong too.

Now that I've come to terms with the Bears' trade, I think they may surprise everyone and go all in on offense. Besides having Howard, Miller, and injury prone White, they don't have many weapons on that side of the ball.

Of course, that means they'll pick a kicker or punter with their second round pick...

I don't think Forrest Lamp gets past the Jags at 2.3. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jags swapped up a couple of spots to make sure. They did the same to ensure they locked down Myles Jack in the 2nd last year. Getting the best OG in the draft? Probably worth it.

Liked both Saints picks a lot. Let the value fall to them and take it.

They have no backup tackles, and their RT will be 34 next season. I don't think that they went into the draft expecting to get Ramczyk, but when he's sitting there at 32, you go ahead and grab him. That's one less position to have to fill next year in draft or FA.

The logic appears sound to me.

Or, it's at least a smaller price than normal to pay to find out if you've got one of your next guys before the current ones are done. Smart move when you've got an extra first rounder.

Now hearing that Bears GM didn't inform coach Fox that they were trading for Trubisky, and SF is saying that they had no other teams interested in that pick and the Bears just bid against themselves.

Go Bears!

The Browns cut Barnidge today, making that Njoku pick much more sensible. Also, I didn't see it at the time but Jackson did an interview this offseason where he said they needed a TE upgrade.

As a fan who's team was once projected to take him, I am absolutely terrified of Njoku's drop rate, and am so glad the Lions didn't draft him.

I remember when Njoku was a raw, somewhat under the radar Rutgers commit as a WR .

Well, if I were the Jags, I';d call up Barny for an interest symposium. We didn't get a high TE, probably not today, he's a solid adjunct to Marcedes Lewis for a year or year at least, and removes the pressure off the trade of our TE Thomas.

I know they got extra picks, but I would have gone with Howard at 12 if they wanted a TE.

Yeah, I still don't like the Njoku pick. Seems like a boom/bust candidate that they had to give up picks to trade up and get - I know they had a ton of picks but I still don't like that for a team with so many holes all over the roster

There's a 0% chance the Packers take Kizer with Rodgers and Hundley given the holes they have at CB, LB and RB. This is a "Ted Thompson trying to drum up trade interest to move up" by floating to Demovsky that they may take him. Nice job by Demovsky smelling it out:

My pipe dream was Cam Robinson sliding all the way to 49, the Skins taking him to play LG and cutting Lauvao, saving $4m on the cap this year to allow more flexibility in negotiating some extensions.

Cam Robinson. I would have taken Lamp there, best OG in the draft, but still, improving an O Line that needs the help makes sense.

Sorry about that. I still would have preferred Lamp there due to need, but every O Line is a need really.

I'd bet that Robinson gets the Brandon Scherff treatment and is a G from day one. At 322, he fits as that mauler type more than a true LT.

Chicago get's two 4th rounders to replace the ones they traded away for Trubisky yesterday. Now that trade is giving up a 3rd, moving down about 10 spots in the 4th this year, adding an extra sixth this year, and getting Arizona's 4th next year. Suddenly looks a lot better for those who didn't like the move.

well I was half-right Just don't understand their reluctance to go after a QB when they so clearly need one.

Because QBs with bad completion percentages (Kizer) or gimmick offenses (Webb) in college are rarely good in the NFL. Trubisky, Peterman, and Watson are the only three in this draft I would have touched at all, and I'm not sure about Peterman.

And Chicago uses the lower 2nd round pick to draft a TE out of Ashland?

The Colts added Quincy Wilson to their secondary. Along Vontae Davis and Hooker the Colts should be able to improve on their 30th ranked pass defense. I would like to see a good pass rusher though.

There was always the understanding that some teams took him off their board completely while others, especially a team like Cincy who seems to not care about character at all, dropped him out of the first round because of the video.

When a team has been a middle of the road, can't win in the playoffs for the past 25 years hasn't saying "5 time champions" kind of jumped the shark.

I always compare that to my being a Wings lacrosse fan; for the longest time they had the most championships in the league but they hadn't won since 2001 and only had a couple playoff appearances between then and 2015. I certainly wasn't bragging to other teams' fans that they were "six time champions" during those last several years because that would be idiotic.
