Aldermanic first reading of bill to relax marijuana laws | FOX2now.com

Yep. They call it relaxing the laws. But its legalization.

Im really hoping they do this and it sticks. There are 28 Aldermen. One proposed it and 5 co-signed the bill. So they are about 1/3rd of the way to getting it passed.

The one sticking point is the anti-discrimination part. That may kill it.

Interesting method...they do seem to be going a step beyond decriminalization, but instead of regulating & taxing it for income they seem to be intentionally pushing it out-of-sight-out-of-mind, removing government involvement entirely.
