National League Names Rookie of Month
Wednesday, May 1st, 1907: Vin Campbell's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young New York center fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month.

In April he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award.

During the month he hit .420 with 7 doubles, 2 triples and 1 home run. Campbell also scored 22 times and drove in 11 runs.

AL Selects Rookie Star of the Month
Wednesday, May 1st, 1907: Chicago's Joe Jackson collected 46 hits to snare the American League Rookie of the Month for April.

He batted .397 with 2 home runs, 22 RBIs and 25 runs scored.

The 17-year-old is barely old enough to shave, but he could definitely contend for Rookie of the Year if he keeps up this pace.

Mullin Takes NL #1 Pitcher Trophy
Wednesday, May 1st, 1907: Veteran George Mullin put together quite a successful stretch in April for the Boston Beaneaters, earning himself the National League Pitcher of the Month award.

Mullin racked up a 4-2 record in 7 starts, posting a 2.55 ERA over 60 innings and striking out 22.

May's Best Rookie Named by AL
Saturday, June 1st, 1907: Joe Jackson is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest American League Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers.

In May the Chicago hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .364 average with 43 hits, 5 home runs and 11 RBIs.

This season Jackson is batting .380 with 89 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 52 times and has 33 runs batted in.
NL Announces Best Pitcher for May
Saturday, June 1st, 1907: The National League made it official today -- Pete Dowling of the Boston Beaneaters is the Pitcher of the Month. In May he impressed the sportswriters with his domination of league hitters.

Dowling made 7 starts, registered 6 wins and no losses with a solid 3.83 ERA. In 54 innings he allowed 50 hits, racked up 19 strikeouts, walked 12 and permitted teams to hit .244 against him.

Congrats to the playoff teams. Philadelphia clinched the wild card on the next to last day of the season, being 2 games up with one to go.

Congrats to the playoff teams!

Disappointing season for us, our first losing one. Back to the drawing board!

Not really sure what got us over the hump. I had kept being sixth in the league or so but this year we were able to squeak it out with a tough battle with the Yankees. Congrats to the other playoff teams. For the record, I'm not scared of Joe Jackson, with or without shoes.

And that one game loss in the spring training sim turns out to matter.

ps I'm merely noting the irony.

If I'd been more coherent, I might have wanted to rectify that one game thing, but I didn't want to set a precedent either...so it's probably for the best that I just left things how they were.

I totally have run this team into the ground. It shows I have no idea how to manage a baseball team in real life nor computer.

I have a dominant closer according to the scouting report...7-8-6...who ends up with a 5.01 ERA and 1.73 WHIP...so even my good guys suck!

Yea I have no idea how my team did so well, but hey I'll take it! Maybe someday I'll figure out what I'm doing right in this league. It must be dumb luck

The Royal Giants have the lamest offense ever. We were 7th in average (.277), 8th in slugging (.361), 8th in hits (1563), and 8th in extra-base hits (350). Still we managed to score 802 runs, good for third in the national league. How? Walks! We led the league with 635 base on balls and were second in OBP (.354). So basically the only way we score is from walks/singles, but mostly walks.
