Better late than never with the banner. Sorry to the Athletics!

It looks like the old days A's were mostly Blue and White for colors, with some red mixed in a few years later. (I don't see the green appear until KC from what i can tell). So here you go!

Well... I have very few draft picks now, am over the cap by a little bit but I really like my team for this season!

The Giants get Joe Jackson to start the question.. Who has the best Outfield in FOOL-H?

Well, I get the first overall pick, so Babe Ruth is about to be on the Red Sox again where he belongs

(and no Yankees, we are NOT trading him for cash, ever)

He's a washed up middle relief pitcher. No reason to pick him #1

He's also a very average LF/RF.

But he has contact and power up the wazoo He's like an Echiro Nemoto who is already developed so I don't have to worry about him not developing...

Just realised I'll be picking a MR #1 here to go along with picking a MR #2 over in FOOL-X. What's going on with these draft classes anyway?

The revenge of the middle relievers. Sounds like a cheesy B-movie

That is a sign of a horrible GM! You should NOT draft a MR #1, EVER! If you do it will spell the end of you franchise, and in the fast paced world of FOOL it will ruin many, many years.

Don't do it.

BTW, I have the second pick... Can you tell?

I had a #1 pick in 1 league and a #2 pick in the other league, so I don't think my franchise will sink much lower in the near future...

Trust me, it will.

Especially if you select a MR first overall...

this year...

in FOOL-H.

Just sayin'...

Given my luck so far with Nemoto in FOOL-X, folks won't have all that much to worry about from Ruth...

Less of a development curve with Ruth.

Now you just have to pray he doesn't get hit with a whammy stick!

Is there any chance of putting in a double a league? My triple A is stocked with players and I think it might be hurting some of their development.

I have thought that about more levels myself. Probably wouldn't hurt to add just all 3 levels now. Just a idea is all.

Every time I think I'm getting tight in AAA, I just dump all the 30+ 1-* guys and I have plenty of room again. We're also still getting mostly developed guys; won't they be wasted in AA? Seems like we need undeveloped players to make the other parts of the minors useful.

Historical leagues, especially these olde times leagues, barely need minors at all. Every single player appeared in the majors for at least a cup of coffee in the year in which they appear in our draft, so they are ALL "major league ready". The free agent list is loaded with mediocre look-alike players, so I try not to keep any of those hanging around my system when I remember to take the time to purge. I only use AAA to develop the occassional pitcher who needs his control to come up to potential or maybe force a batter to play a position he has some weak defensive skill in in the hopes he comes up a tick or 2. I don't think you'll find a historical league out there that has more than AAA, most don't even have that they only have the taxi squad thing.

My internet was out since Thursday and just started working as I returned home this afternoon after teaching this morning.

I'll just run it tonight and drop the off-day to stay on schedule. Sorry.

Yeah, I think we can add another layer later on, but for right now, making people make hard choices about who they need to keep, in my mind, is probably a net benefit rather than ot.
