1908 Season - Part 3

Patrick Hutt Milwaukee Brewers (NL) Age 22 Pos 2B
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1908 totals 129 504 146 17 85 .290 24
Career totals 289 1087 278 26 148 .256 40

Hutt continues to emerge as a more than adequate compliment to Jestor, playing a vital role in Milwaukee's first ever NL Pennant. Hutt played all three infield positions and fielded a solid .968 at his primary spot of second base, also finishing second in the NL in extra base hits, HR and RBI.

Notes:
  • 04/20/08 - Wins NL batter fo the week
  • 04/30/08 - Injured sprained elbow, out 3 weeks
  • 05/01/08 - Wins NL batter of the month award
  • 08/01/08 - Wins NL batter of the month award
  • 08/03/08 - Wins NL player of the week award

Frank Justice Seattle Rainiers (PCL) Age 22 Pos 1B
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1908 totals 137 473 191 12 57 .404 10
Career totals 521 1784 593 42 247 .332 21

Justice elevates his game to level never before seen among our players, becoming the first of the group to top the .400 market, easily leading the PCL in batting as the Rainiers, who still only finished 4th in the PCL despite his heroics. He also led the PCL in walks, total bases and runs, coming in 2nd in homers and he was at his best in the heat of the pennant race, when it counts.

Notes:
  • 07/01/08 - Wins PCL batter of the month award
  • 07/13/08 - Wins PCL player of the week award
  • 07/20/08 - Wins PCL player of the week award
  • 08/01/08 - Wins PCL batter of the month award
  • 08/03/08 - Wins PCL player of the week award
  • 09/01/08 - Wins PCL batter of the month award
  • 09/03/08 - Wins PCL 1908 Silver Slugger award
  • 09/30/08 - Receives a 1 year deal worth $710 through automatice renewal....Quite the steal

William Omark St Louis Browns (NL) Age 22 Pos 3B
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1908 totals 150 582 139 3 54 .239 61
Career totals 511 1809 391 9 143 .216 153

Omark continues to do what he does best, vandalize the base paths and hold down the hot corner with aplomb, though his hitting does continue to gradually improve, as he records a career high OBP of .320 for the 3B Browns. He does miss out on his second gold glove award, which baffles the area sports writers, who all scream east coast bias.

Notes:
  • Fun facts - Once again records the odd double/double of leading the league in both strikeouts and steals. Has yet to face O'Rourke, but is hitting a paltry .111 (3 for 27) against Rob Nielsen

Lester Wood Buffalo Niagras (EL) Age 20 Pos P
Statistics G W L SV ERA K BB
1908 totals 2 1 0 0 1.80 2 6
Career totals 10 1 4 0 3.18 18 28

Lester contunues to try and find his niche, appearing in just 2 games for the Niagras, but he does manage his first professional win and hopes to have a breakout season in 1909, a sentiment not shared by his employers near the canadian border as they send him packing after the season.

Notes:
  • 07/17/08 - His first and only win is a dandy as he hurls a 5 hits shutout against the Newark Eagles
  • 09/28/08 - Received a 1 year contract renewal worth $670
  • 10/18/08 - Traded to the Midland Dusters (Texas League) for RF Al Wickland, who hit .331 for Midland in 1908
1909 Debuts
We welcome the following 4 players to the fold for 1909

Fox McCloud - RF Minneapolis, Minnesota
DJ Thomas - C Provo Utah
and our first brother duo
Pitcher Joe Dawkins and CF Jack Dawkins, both from Harrisburg, PA

Man, Lester is having a very hard time. Luckily, he is only 20 years old, so hopefully he has better days ahead of him.

1909 Season - Part 1

Jason Friday Chicago Cubs (NL) Age 24 Pos C

1909 totals 134 487 133 11 62 .273 13
Career totals 779 2887 756 66 359 .262 65

Jason continues to quietly put together a solid career for the Cubbies, who continue to improve finishing 80-74, 6 games out and in 5th place in one of the most hotly contested pennant races to date. Friday is the epitome of a hardnosed, blue collar player and earns his 3rd straight All-Star appearance.

Notes:
  • 05/24/09 - Wins NL player of the week award
  • 06/07/09 - Wins NL player of the week award
  • 06/27/09 - Selected to play for the NL in the 1909 All-Star game
  • 10/08/09 - Wins the NL Gold Glove award at C

1909 totals 116 458 143 16 75 .312 36
Career totals 633 2476 755 55 331 .305 181

The eversteady Ginsberg continues to make a nice career for himself in the Eastern League where he now earns the princely sum of $4,130 per season, likely a good reason he has not sought the greener pastures of the Major Leagues. The Shamrocks win yet another EL pennant, sharing the honors with Buffalo, who also finishes 73-47.

Notes:
  • 05/03/09 - Wins the EL player of the week award
  • 06/01/09 - Wins the EL batter of the month award
  • 06/28/09 - Wins the EL player of the week award
  • 07/01/09 - Wins the EL batter of the month award
  • 09/21/09 - Wins the EL Silver Slugger award
  • Fun fact - Ginsberg's double play partner with Lowell is 2B Pop Lloyd, one of the few black players in professional baseball
Mike O'Rourke St Louis Browns (NL) Age 24 Pos P
Statistics G W L SV ERA K BB
1909 totals 39 25 11 0 1.51 425 120
Career totals 147 84 55 0 1.94 1495 594

'Irish Fire' is the greatest strikeout pitcher in the history of Baseball as he again eclipses his modern day record, fanning 425 in 347 innings to remain as potent as ever despite the Browns falling from 3rd to 6th at 77-77. O'Rourke also broke his own record for K's per 9 innings fanning 11.03 per. At this pace, if his arm does not fall off, O'Rourke will retire as the all-time leader in both strikeouts and walks.

Notes:
  • 06/15/09 - 15 Brewers fall before his blazing fastball
  • 06/19/09 - Fans 15 Brooklyn Robins
  • 06/23/09 - Whiffs 18 Cubbies while hurling a 4 hit shutout
  • 06/27/09 - Selected to play for the NL in the 1909 All-Star game
  • 07/23/09 - Tosses a one hitter against the Cubs en route to 8 total whitewashings on the season
  • 10/11/09 - Wins the NL Diamond Ace award for 1909
  • Fun fact - RF John Titus, whom the Browns gave up for O'Rourke has never hit above .261 in 5 seasons for Boston and hit .204 in 1909

Izulde Jestor Milwaukee Brewers (NL) Age 23 Pos 3B
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1909 totals 149 608 240 16 92 .395 17
Career totals 670 2643 912 86 435 .345 53

Jestor threatens to become our first Major Leaguer to top the .400 mark and sits right at .400 as late as 09/11/09, but cannot maintain the pace. Milwaukee follows up on their first pennant with a heartbreaking 2nd place finish to the New York Giants, finishing a game off the pace at 85-69.

1909 Season - Part 2

Benton Gale Milwaukee Brewers (NL) Age 24 Pos LF
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1909 totals 122 494 170 4 82 .344 6
Career totals 655 2563 797 15 257 .311 42

Guess whos coming to dinner with Jestor and Hutt? Yes Gale leaves the Pacific Coast League in his wake after a subpar season with the Seals and promptly turns Milwaukee on it's ear, hitting a career high .344. Hitting 5th in the lineup behind Jestor and Hutt, Gale becomes a fast favorite in his first major league season and the Brewers now have a nucleus in place that can carry them for years to come.

Notes:
  • 01/04/09 - Signs a three year contract worth $12,780 with the Milwaukee Brewers (NL)
  • 06/08/09 - Injured sprained thumb, out 2 weeks
  • 07/12/09 - Wins NL player of the week award
  • 07/26/09 - Wins NL player of the week award
  • 09/07/09 - Injures sprained finger, out 3 weeks
  • Fun fact - Including day to day issues, Gale has suffered 14 injuries in his 6 year career

Rob Nielsen Pittsburgh Alleghenys (NL) Age 23 Pos P
Statistics G W L SV ERA K BB
1909 totals 0 0 0 0 0.00 0 0
Career totals 57 32 17 0 1.97 387 74

As expected Nielsen misses the entire 1909 season recovering from his torn ulnar collateral ligament and the Alleghenys slip to 4th place in the standings, their worst finish in franchise history, though they have still never had a losing season. Nielsen appears on track for a full recovery for 1910.

Notes:
  • Neilsen visited Coney Island twice over the summer while injured

Tim Shepard Salt Lake Bees (PCL) Age 23 Pos RF / 1B
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1909 totals 134 472 127 4 40 .269 8
Career totals 428 1436 388 13 156 .270 11

Shepard continues to be a steady player for the Bees, who finish 3rd in the PCL at 74-66 behind the Seattle Rainiers. Despite only being a career .270 hitter, Shepard has a remarkable eye and leads the PCL in both walks (102) and OBP (.399) which is duly appreciated by those that hit behind him, mainly Home Run Baker.

Notes:
  • 06/13/09 - Goes 5 for 5 against the San Francisco Seals, his first career 5 hit game
  • 09/18/09 - Wins the PCL Gold Glove award in RF
  • 09/29/09 - Receives a 1 year contract renewal worth $750
  • Fun fact - Shepard gunned down 16 runners in 1909

Jawouk Bafou Hilldale Giants (EL) Age 23 Pos OF
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1909 totals 85 313 82 7 37 .262 8
Career totals 397 1494 369 15 162 .247 26

Bafou once again does Canada proud as he rebounds from a atrocious year in 1908 to once again provide a decent stick to the Hilldale nine, who finish a disappointing 52-68 and in 7th place despite having Fred Merkle, Ken Williams and Steve Yerkes alongside Jawouk in the lineup.

Notes:
  • 04/28/09 - Injured pincjed nerve, out 3 weeks
  • 08/24/09 - Sick sinusitis, out 4 days
  • Fun fact - At 6'5" Bafou is the tallest player in the Eastern League

1909 Season - Part 3

Patrick Hutt Milwaukee Brewers (NL) Age 23 Pos 2B
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1909 totals 147 534 125 6 63 .234 22
Career totals 436 1621 403 32 211 .249 62

Hutt slumps just a bit for the 2nd place Brewers and continues to have trouble making contact, leading the NL in strikeouts with an eye popping 153. With those numbers one would think every at bat was against O'Rourke. If Hutt can cut down on the whiffs, he will bolster an already potent Milwaukee offense and help 24 game winner Ed Walsh add even more wins to his total.

Notes:
  • 06/16/09 - Injured hamstring tendinitis, out 1 week
  • Fun fact - Hutt was lethal with a 3-1 count going 6 for 7 (.857) and drawing 27 walks

Frank Justice Seattle Rainiers (PCL) Age 23 Pos 1B
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1909 totals 99 328 129 4 37 .393 9
Career totals 620 2112 722 46 284 .342 30

Big Frank helped lead Seattle to their first ever PCL pennant as the Rainiers finished 84-56, 6 games up on Vernon. Unfortunately chronic back pain limited him to just 99 games, but the sweet swing was still there as he narrowly missed his second .400 season. At the age of 23 Justice has decided to explore opportunites outside of Seattle and hopes to land on a Major League roster in 1910.

Notes:
  • 04/29/09 - Injured chronic back soreness, out 4 weeks
  • 07/01/09 - Wins PCL batter of the month award
  • 08/01/09 - Wins PCL batter of the month award
  • 08/21/09 - Injured sprained knee, out 1 week
  • 09/22/09 - Wins PCL Silver Slugger award for 1909
  • 09/29/09 - Announces his intention to shop his services around to the highest bidder for 1910

William Omark St Louis Browns (NL) Age 23 Pos 3B
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1909 totals 148 531 137 3 45 .258 66
Career totals 659 2340 528 12 188 .226 219

The Staten Island flash continues to run wild in 1909 once again leading the league in steals and accumulating a league high 117 walks as well, giving him an OPB of .394. His heroics help the 4th place Browns lead the NL in steals as a team with 207, but they also only manage to swat 13 home runs as a team!

Notes:
  • 03/09/09 - Injured sore knee, out for 1 week
  • Fun fact - Omark adds a dubious honor to his resume as well, as he is caught stealing 77 times, a new major league record
Lester Wood Midland Dusters (TL) Age 21 Pos P
Statistics G W L SV ERA K BB
1909 totals 12 5 1 2 2.01 28 19
Career totals 22 6 5 2 2.60 28 19

Lester found Midland more to his liking as he logged a career high 49.1 innings in his third pro season, but still does not have a permanent role as started 4 games for the Dusters and appeared in relief in 8. Midland finished 3rd in the Texas League at 69-51, just 3 games back of Sweetwater, as Wood looks toward a more prominent role in 1910.

Notes:
  • 09/28/09 - Received a 1 year contract renewal worth $750
  • Fun fact - If pitching does not work out Wood may have a place in the field as he hit .389 for Midland in 18 at bats

1909 Season - Part 4

Time for the newcomers

Joe Dawkins Bourne Braves (CC) Age 18 Pos P
Statistics G W L SV ERA K BB
1909 totals 8 1 2 2 2.81 9 5
Career totals 8 1 2 2 2.81 9 5

Young Joe becomes one of two new players to get their start in the Cape Cod League, marking the first time any of our guys have played in the small independant circuit. Though given limited opportunites, Joe did show well for such a young pitcher and will undoubtedly leave the CCL for greener pastures in the coming seasons.

Notes:
  • 04/02/09 - Signed a 1 year deal worth $750 with the Bourne Braves (CC)
  • 05/02/09 - Named the #6 prospect in the CCL
  • 08/29/09 - Received a 1 year contract renewal worth $750
Jack Dawkins Buffalo Niagras (EL) Age 20 Pos CF / LF
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1909 totals 116 455 121 1 51 .266 24
Career totals 116 455 121 1 51 .266 24

Joe's older brother Jack had signficantly more good fortune in his first year as a pro, earning a regular spot in the outfield for the Buffalo Niagra's who finished tied with Lowell for the EL pennant. He also recorded one painful honor, leading the EL in times hit by a pitch with 14, a non too comforting achievement to be sure.

Notes:
  • 03/07/09 - Signed a 3 year contract worth $8,100 with the Buffalo Niagras (EL)
  • 04/22/09 - Named the #1 prospect in the Eastern League
  • 05/10/09 - Wins EL player of the week award
  • 06/01/09 - Wins EL rookie of the month award
  • 08/01/09 - Wins EL rookie of the month award
DJ Thomas Chatham Athletics (CC) Age 19 Pos C
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1909 totals 2 8 2 0 1 .250 0
Career totals 2 8 2 0 1 .250 0

Our other Cape Cod League player, DJ struggles to find time for the Chatham squad, garnering just 8 at bats the entire season for the Athletics, who run away with the Cape Cod League pennant going 66-24 and finishing 12 games up on Bourne. Chatham is led by Cad Coles (.331) and Joe Willis (14-4, 1.75), two names barely know outside of Massachusetts.

Notes:
  • 04/02/09 - Signed a 1 year deal worth $750 with the Chatham Athletics (CCL)
  • 05/02/09 - Named the #10 prospect in the CCL (Not sure if this is really an honor)
  • 08/29/09 - Received a 1 year renewal worth $750

Fox McCloud Cincinnati Red (NL) Age 20 Pos RF
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1909 totals 148 572 148 5 51 .259 31
Career totals 148 572 148 5 51 .259 31

Out final rookie is by far the most succesful as McCloud goes straight from the factory teams of Minnesota to a spot in the Cincinnati Reds outfield, where he give a more than adequate account of himself, showing well at the plate and in the field. The Reds finish 3rd in the NL at 83-71, 3 games back of New York as a reborn Noodles Hahn wins 23 games and Miller Huggins and Cap Anson lead the offense.

Notes:
  • 02/27/09 - Signs a 3 year deal with the Cincinnati Reds worth $10,950
  • 04/01/09 - Named the #1 prospect in the Major Leagues
  • 05/01/09 - Wins NL rookie of the month award
  • 06/01/09 - Wins NL rookie of the month award
  • 06/27/09 - Selected to play for the NL in the 1909 All-Star game
  • 07/01/09 - Wins NL rookie of the month award
  • 08/01/09 - Wins NL rookie of the month award
  • 09/01/09 - Wins NL rookie of the month award
  • 10/08/09 - Wins the Gold Glove award in RF
  • 10/09/09 - Wins the NL rookie of the year award for 1909

Yeah that was a surprising pick, but Fox was consistent. Beginning June 4th his average never went below .255 or above .270 the remainder of the season and he was hitting .268 when selections were made. Had to be the glove...

Oh yeah, went 0-3 in the All-star game

We welcome the three new players for 1910, giving us 19 seeking fame and fortune.

David Gonzalez and Mike Schaplowsky both set out from their homes in Fremont California and will be 18 and 19 respectively when the season starts. Gonzalez plays LF and is said to pack a fearsome wallop, while Schaplowsky plays CF and is known for his blazing speed and cannon arm.

Joining them will by 19 yr old pitcher Tim Finkenstadt, said to possess good control and major league level stuff, Tim hails from Dayton, Onio and grew up watching the Hometown Dayton Marcos of the Federal League. A league in which we have no active players incidentally.

Close to a World Series title, close to a second pennant, close to .400 and falling just short. I've got a whole box of premium cigars for when I finally get those things, especially a ring and .400.

1910 is done but this morning I am getting a no signal message on my "gameing PC" and I have ruled out a bad monitor, so it may likely be a fried video card

Waiting to call my PC guy at 8, but it may be a few days before I get things fixed. I don't want to just slap in a new video card without having him run a diagnostic check, so probably nothing further until after the Christmas. Friggin rig is only 9 months old too

Things are working again, just came back up, so no clue??? I talked to my computer guy and he said it could be a oneoff glitch. I ran all my systems tasks and downloaded the latest driver for my card, so hopefully that resolves it and we can now go on

I am going to buy a new gaming pc by the end of January and that is what I am afraid of. Getting a new machine when there is nothing wrong with what I have. It's just 5 years old.

1910 Season - Part 1

Jason Friday Chicago Cubs (NL) Age 25 Pos C
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1910 totals 136 468 132 13 62 .282 19
Career totals 915 3355 888 79 421 .265 84

The Cubbies had a solid season coming in 88-66, but it was only good enough for 4th, 19 games behind the 107 win Milwaukee Juggernaught. Friday led the Cubs in hitting and was #1 in the NL with an OBP of .433, thanks to an astonishing 125 walks, also tops in the league.

Notes:
  • 06/26/10 - Selected to the 1910 NL All-Star team
  • Fun fact - Despite his high number of walks, Friday put the first pitch in play 68 times and hit .353

David Ginsberg Lowell Shamrocks (EL) Age 24 Pos SS
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1910 totals 112 426 135 11 85 .317 23
Career totals 745 2902 890 66 416 .307 204

Ginsberg completed his 4th season in Lowell and helped the Shamrocks to the their 5th straight Eastern League crown and led the league in RBI, while tying for the top spot in HR with teammate Frank Justice.

Notes:
  • 04/14/10 - Becomes our first player to get tossed for arguing a strike call
  • 07/01/10 - Wins EL batter of the month award
  • 08/01/10 - Wins EL player of the week award
  • 08/08/10 - Wins EL player of the week award
  • 10/15/10 - Ginsberg loves Lowell, signing a 3 year extension worth $16,00

Mike O'Rourke St Louis Browns (NL) Age 25 Pos P

1910 totals 39 22 16 0 2.46 364 116
Career totals 186 106 71 0 2.05 1859 710

O'Rourke was a bit more human than usual in 1910, though his overpowering fastball still accounted for the most strikeouts in baseball as the Browns tied Chicago for 4th in the NL at 88-66. O'Rourke was a 20 game winner for the 4th straight year, but also gave up a league high 22 homeruns, so when batters did connect the ball traveled.

Notes:
  • 05/09/10 - Wins NL player of the week award
  • 06/26/10 - Selected to the 1910 NL All-Star team
  • Fun fact - 'Only' recorded 3 shutouts, his lowest total since his rookie season

Izulde Jestor Milwaukee Brewers (NL) Age 24 Pos 3B

Career totals 801 3162 1093 101 516 .346 67

Jestor continues to be one of the top batsmen in baseball as the Brewers run away with the NL pennant with a stellar record of 107-47. Jestor was joined by ace Ed Walsh (26-10, 2.41) but the lethal duo once again fell short in October, falling to the Highlanders in the fall classic 4 games to 2, winning the opener, but then losing 3 straight.

Notes:

1910 Season - Part 2

Benton Gale Milwaukee Brewers (NL) Age 25 Pos LF

1910 totals 149 593 208 6 94 .351 5
Career totals 804 3156 1005 21 351 .318 47

Gale supplants Jestor and the Brewers leading hitter in his second year with the Brewers, playing a huge part in their pennant run. Gale's .351 average and 208 hits were both tops in the league and Benton has settled into the 5th spot, forming the most potent middle of the order in the league with Jestor and NL HR king Patrick Hutt.

Notes:
  • 05/26/10 - Went 5 for 5 against the Cubs, scoring 3 times
  • 06/26/10 - Selected to the 1910 NL All-Star team
  • Fun fact - Gale blistered opponents pitching with runners in scoring position, hitting .385

Rob Nielsen Pittsburgh Alleghenys (NL) Age 24 Pos P
Statistics G W L SV ERA K BB
1910 totals 39 26 12 0 1.93 310 62
Career totals 96 58 29 0 1.95 697 136

Neilsen returned in style from a career threatening injury, shattering his previous career highs in all pitching catagories and also discovered a strikeout pitch, whiffing 310 in 341 innings for the 2nd place Alleghenys (92-62) who had two other 20 game winners in Tommy Bond and Bob Rhoads.

Notes:
  • 06/01/10 - Wins NL pitcher of the month award
  • 06/26/10 - Selected to 1910 NL All-Star team
  • 09/01/10 - Wins NL pitcher of the month award
  • 10/17/10 - Wins 1910 Diamond Ace award
  • Fun fact - Threw two 2 hit shutouts against Brooklyn and Philadelphia, ended the year with 5 total whitewashings

Tim Shepard Salt Lake Bees (PCL) Age 24 Pos RF / 1B
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1910 totals 121 439 125 4 37 .285 5
Career totals 549 1875 513 17 193 .274 16

The Bees take 3rd place in the PCL (77-63) and get another solid season from Shepard, who is second on the team in hitting behind Frank 'Home Run' Baker. Tim recorded a fine .402 OPB, which was good enough for 2nd in the PCL, but as 1910 closes it appears he will be seeking fame and fortune in another city last year.

Notes:
  • 08/11/10 - Injured sprained finger, out for 2 weeks
  • 09/28/10 - Declares himself a free agent
  • Fun fact - Tim was at his best in the clutch, hitting .341 from the 7th inning on and .304 with 2 outs

Bafou, settling into the Eastern League recorded his best professional season yet for the Hilldale Giants, who unfortunately finish dead last in the league at 41-79, 35 games behind Lowell.

Notes:
  • 04/04/10 - Injured torn thumb ligament, out 2 weeks
  • 07/30/10 - Injured sore back, out 1 week

Dominance, Nielsen style.

Mr. Nielsen would also point out the pinpoint accuracy, allowing only 62 walks. Of those 62, 61 were umpire bias. Nielsen intentionally walked one batter so he could bean Jestor.

1910 Season - Part 3

Patrick Hutt Milwaukee Brewers (NL) Age 24 Pos 2B
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1910 totals 149 540 151 22 112 .280 20
Career totals 585 2161 554 54 323 .256 82

Hutt has a power surge, leading the Majors in home runs, RBI and total bases, but also leads in strikeouts, going down swinging 161 times which is the second highest season total in major league history. Despite the high K total, Hutt bats 4th for Milwaukee, giving him plenty of opportunity to drive in runs with Jestor hitting in front of him.

Notes:
  • 06/01/10 - Wins NL batter of the month award
  • 06/26/10 - Selected to the 1910 NL All-Star team
  • 08/22/10 - Wins NL player of the week award
  • 10/14/10 - Wins the NL Gold Glove award at 2B

Frank Justice Lowell Shamrocks (EL) Age 24 Pos 1B

1910 totals 119 403 172 11 60 .427 11
Career totals 739 2515 894 57 344 .355 41

Justice absolutely destroy EL pitching in his debut season in the league, surpassing .400 for the 2nd time in his career for the pennant winning Shamrocks. Besides batting, Justice also leads the EL in hits, home runs, runs scored and walks. Though he is not competing against major league pitching, this is undoubtedly the finest season of any of our players.

Notes:
  • 02/23/10 - Signs a 3 year contract with Lowell worth $17,700
  • 05/09/10 - Wins EL player of the week award
  • 06/01/10 - Wins EL batter of the month award
  • 08/01/10 - Wins EL batter of the month award
  • 08/15/10 - Wins EL player of the week award
  • 08/29/10 - Wins EL player of the week award
  • 09/01/10 - Wins EL batter of the month award
  • 09/16/10 - Wins EL Gold Glove award at 1B

Career totals 809 2905 688 20 238 .237 275

The Staten Island flash records his best season to date at the plate, while continuing to terrorize NL catchers on the basepaths, leading the league in steals for the 4th straight season and earning his first All-Star selection.

Notes:
  • 06/26/10 - Selected to the 1910 NL All-Star team
  • 07/01/10 - Wins NL batter of the month award
  • Fun fact - Torched lefties at a .362 clip, while hitting only .233 against right handers

Lester Wood Midland Dusters (TL) Age 22 Pos P
Statistics G W L SV ERA K BB
1910 totals 5 0 0 0 1.35 2 1
Career totals 27 6 5 2 2.52 48 48

Wood continues to struggle for playing time in his 4th professional season and will likely look to move on from Midland after appearing in only 5 games in his second year with the club.

Notes:
  • 09/27/10 - Declares himself a free agent
  • Fun fact - All 5 of Lester's appearances came in August

1910 totals 21 4 3 6 2.97 28 22
Career totals 30 5 5 8 2.93 37 27

Dawkins sees his role increased in his second season at Bourne as the Braves finish 2nd in the Cape Cod League behind Chatham at 52-38. Dawkins 6 saves are good enough for second in the league and he will toil for the 1910 pennant winners in 1911.

Notes:
  • 08/29/10 - Declares himself a free agent
  • 09/06/10 - Signs a 2 year deal with Chatham of the CCL worth $1,820

Jack Dawkins Buffalo Niagras (EL) Age 21 Pos RF
Statistics G AB H HR RBI Avg SB
1910 totals 117 471 105 0 59 .223 26
Career totals 233 926 226 1 110 .244 50

The elder Dawkins brother struggles at the plate in his second year with the Niagra's who are Eastern League runners up to Lowell at 69-51. Dawkins continues to be a magnet for pitchers, coming in second in the league in HBP with 11, after leading the EL in the same catagory in 1910.

Notes:
  • Fun fact - Dawkins is a slow starter, hitting just .199 between the 1st and 3rd innings

Notes:
  • 05/02/10 - Name the #3 prospect in the CCL
  • 05/23/10 - Wins the CCL player of the week award
  • 06/03/10 - Injured sore ankle, out 2 weeks

1910 totals 148 556 162 4 58 .291 40
Career totals 296 1128 310 9 109 .275 71

Young McCloud is becoming a favored son in Cincy, establishing a solid hold on the RF job, which he expects to hold for many years. The Reds are a middle of the road team, finishing in 5th place at 75-79, with Fox leading the NL in doubles with 31 and desplaying solid defensive prowess.

Notes:
  • 06/26/10 - Selected to play for the NL in the 1910 All-Star game

Just finished simming 1911, steroids in the deadball era as one of our players set a major league record with 37 round trippers!!

As an aside, I am going to tone down power numbers. Originally I made the boosts to power more modern, so I have toned them down to be solid for the deadball era. So this will hopefully be known as the one and only PED season
