Worse Than Christmas

I'm slowly going crazy. I've just gotten into the FOF world, and I'm so eager for this next game to be released. I know that many of you probably feel the same way especially since you've been involved in the previous editions as well. Is this waiting for a mysterious release date driving anybody else crazy with anticipation? It's kind of like knowing that Christmas is coming, but all you know is that it is in the immediate future.

Also, being a rookie and all, I've tried looking at the FOF Journal v3.0 but all I get are a bunch of dead links. I'd really like to read some of those posts. Is this information located anywhere else?

Thanks and have a great day!

Welcome to the party...

Do you have any of the other FOF/TCY games?

Somebody around here has an archive of the dead links, but nothing's been posted yet.

It's about halfway between Austin and College Station. Right smack dab in the middle of nowhere and right between longhorn and Aggie country.

So are you a Longhorn or Aggies fan?

More importantly, have you managed to avoid the filthy infection of Cowboy fandom?

Cool. Well, welcome to the board.

I'm surprised no one has made a crack about there being a "Dime Bag, Texas" located smack in the middle of Texas Stadium yet...

I'm an Aggie (Class of '00).

My rooting for the Cowboys ended the day Tom Landry got fired.

If you looked at his profile you would see that he's an Aggie fan.

Stay away from Franky, Cap. He's managed to combine being two bad things (being a Californian and a Redskins fan) into one terribly bad thing...

That's honorable... I wish I could have stopped rooting for the Redskins the day Jack Kent Cooke died...

Hey now... I don't know if I'd call myself a "Californian" just yet. I'm pretty nomadic. I grew up in Maryland, lived in Arizona for ten years, and have been in California for a year and a half. I think this state is geographically stunning, but politically f*cked up beyond comparison, and the mindless liberal boneheads along the coast are positively infuriating.

Ok, didn't realize that you've been there for that short of a time. I feel the same way about my time in Colorado. It's a beautiful state, but the people can be uppity. I never, ever considered myself a Coloradan...

Edit: Oh, and a couple of those would have worked great, MC...

Dime Box. Is that anywhere near Tunis? I used to live in College Station, a long time ago. Bad, bad memories.

It's close. But what does that really mean in Texas? Dime Box is on Highway 21 as you go to Austin.

The game's developer, Jim Gindin, had to respond to a family emergency just as the release was imminent. Otherwise, all signs pointed to a release yesterday or today. Obviously Jim's number one priority is his family rather than some- ultimately meaningless- computer game.

That said, I'm proud of the board's collective calm. However, I'm sure the tension is just barely suppressed, and the impatience will grow with time.

I wouldn't call the game meaningless. It is how the man makes his living, so it does hold some importance to him (although family takes precedence).

Is everything ok with Jim & family?

WHOOP!

Nice to see a fellow Ag on here, I'm class of '98, finished May '99.

And Tom Landry getting fired was a sad day, but honestly, it might have been the best thing to happen to the franchise in hind sight.
