Horatio Sanz

I havn't been a bona fide fan of Saturday Night Live since the mid 80's and i rarely watch a show all the way thru anymore, but I gotta say, whenever I see a sketch with Horatio Sanz I need to stop and watch it and I nearly piss my pants laughing 95% of the time, I think he may be the funniest cast member of the last 15 years.

I think Sanz is funny, but Ferrell was a better actor and Hartman funnier overall. Still, Sanz has got to be one of the funnier cast members recently.

I never liked him. He just seems like the latest "SNL Obligatory Wacky Fat Guy". Belushi and Farley set the bar so high that he just seems like a sad imitation.

That said, I haven't watched much this year, so maybe he's finding his legs. God knows it took Will Ferrell about four seasons before he was worth watching.

Will Ferrel is tons funnier than Sanz. he has more memorable skits than Sanz.

Jimmy Fallon is funny, but i liked him better when he was called Adam Sandler.

I think Maya Rudolph is also very talented. Although I'm getting a little tired of her doing Donatella Versace.

Anyone else think Tina Fey is hot? She does a great job with the weekend update, I just wish she did some other skits every once in a while.

I seem to remember an episode in the past couple of years in which Tina Fey briefly played a lounge waitress (I believe it was the episode that Jack Black hosted). Because of the outfit, she was a little tough to recognize, but she was niiiiice.

I haven't watched SNL regularly in years, although I'll catch an episode occasionally. I just looked up some numbers, and I noticed that Darrell Hammond is in his ninth year on the show. One more year, and he'll have tied Tim Meadows. Goodness. It doesn't seem like Hammond's been on the show for nine years, and it seemed like Meadows was on the show for about fifty.

I too agree that Tina Fey is quite hot.

Also on another note, has Comedy Central dropped SNL from it's programming? It's no longer listed on the website and I know they picked up MADtv. Assuming they have, has anyone else picked up the rights, I know E! shows the one's from from the 1970s, so perhaps they've picked up the new ones as well.

I don't remember seeing that one. I just keep thinking if she's that hot in the business suit she wears doing WU, imagine if she's wearing something sexy.

Yes, she is hot. I believe she is one of the writers for the show.. maybe that's why she doesn't appear in as many skits. I also remember one skit where she was iffy, and she says: "See, this is why I don't do skits."

Her best line of the year:

During a sketch called Quuer Eye for the Straight Gal...she was the straight gal and 5 frightening lesbians were giving her lifestyle makeover tips. The Interior Design specialist advised her to tear up all the the carpeting in her house and just go with hard wood floors. Tina Fey's response:

"Well I guess you all would know about tearing up carpet!"

Horatio Sanz is the obligatory fat guy. In fact, I clicked on this thread thinking "did he die too"?

Thats what happens when you aren't funny enough to get a bad TV show or Movie.

Tina Fey is way hot, theres something about squeaky looking girls that drive me nuts, Paige Davis from Trading Spaces is another example.

I may have overstated about Sanz, I was just watching the show at the time and it struck me how funny I always find him, I agree that he does fit the obligitory fat guy mold but he just seems to have so much fun out there that it's contagious.

I generaly like more of the cast lately, Rachel Gretz or whatever her name is, the homely looking little girl, is very funny, as are Rudolph, Fey and Sanz. Except for Sanz i'm not a fan of many of the guys.
The Versace skits do have to go though.

On a side note, I was watching Mad TV a bit last night too and it struck me that they do alot more (and funnier) pop culture references than SNL does nowadays, I could be wrong as it was just a quick observation and i have no facts to back it up but I just wish SNL would be alot more topical instead of falling back on ridiculous sketches that basicaly just call for them to be really loud.

No way, Hammond is the FUNNIEST one left one the show. His impressions are second to none. The show has really blown this year so I stopped watching it on a weekly basis, but he is one of the few bright spots. Kattan (spelling?) is also good now. But it definitely isn't the same with out Will Farrell.

While impressions may get you far on SNL, it really doesn't get much work outside of it. He has almost nothing outside of the impressions, so I can't consider him the funniest on the show. Right now I think Fallon, Sanz, and Maya Rudulph are the funniest on the show. Fallon and Sanz doing the Internet show is funny as hell.

She is the head writer...the first woman to be the head writer in the show's history.

I disagree with that. While he fits the mold, his range is so much more than what Farley had (and Farley was quite good)...Sanz is a much better actor overall. His ability to be reserved while others make fun of him separates him from Farley. Outside of The Chris Farley Show, I never really saw him be something OTHER than the wacky fat guy.

Sanz, however, does so much more...and he's much better at improv (which is his background), it gives him a lot more depth.

One guy who's starting to catch some eyes is Fred Armisten (spelling?). He's ridiculously good at a lot of characters...once he starts getting some skits that center on his abilities (and it'll come), he could become the next (and most unlikely, I think) breakout SNL player.

I also have to agree with Tina Fey being very hot. I also think she is funny which to me makes her even more attractive.

I told my wife about our little Tina Fey fan club. She doesn't get it. Of course, she lusts after that little effeminate elf-boy, Orlando Bloom. What does she know.

I think the fact that Tina is funny adds to her hotness. I also think it's the suit too. It's the whole mystery of what's under there. Who else has fantasized about her (or any prim and proper woman in a business suit) doing a little strip tease and slowly revealing her wild side?

(reaches for tissue....)

I like Tina Fey, my girl likes Orlando Bloom... must be a worldwide thing... And Bloom does kick ass as an elf, but was pretty boring in Pirates.

Yeah, E! bought the rights a few years back, and the deal is just now coming into effect. So, E! has ALL the SNL's now.

MADtv sux, so I think Comedy Central is gonna be sorry about that programming decision.

I haven't watched much this year, but I do agree on some points made in this thread:

- Sanz is good, but he's no Farley.
- Tina Fey is super hot.
- All girls think Orlando Bloom as an Elf is hot. No guy can explain nor understand why.
- The show is not the same without Will Ferrell

I would like to also add that I think Chris Parnell is super funny. His rap to Kirsten Dunst a year or two ago was one the funniest things I've ever seen. Also the commercial with him running around acting like a dog was priceless.

Wow. Double ditto here.

Tina Fey = yes, she is very hot, in exactly that way we've all described
Orlando Bloom = makes Mrs. Q swoon (whatever)

It must be universal. You guys have just described the SplitP household as well.

Tina fey = hot
Olando bloom = hot (according to Mrs. SplitP)

As a fan of SNL since the very beginning, The following quote struck me as extremely funny.
