Something tells me this email was not from Citibank

I don't know why...I just don't think this really came from Citibank. Maybe one of you guys could help me figure out why I have this feeling that this is not genuine.

Here's the email:

Apparently the Griswold's are looking for someone to bankroll their summer vacation.

The Family Truckster has exactly $20,000 dollars worth of repairs to be done.

Y'know, if virus makers could spend a little more time on their English, they'd probably be a lot more successful.

One recent email phishing expedition that went around campus a couple of months ago was a poorly worded and misspelled email ostensibly from the help desk asking for confirmation of username/password if "you are still wishing to use your email." I'm still trying to figure out what tense that is. Future imperfect optative?

not only is it poor english, the logic is just ridiculous.

YOU must enter your full atm card number, as well as your PIN because some other members are having trouble with their email addresses?

Not to mention Yahoo hosting a website for CitiBank?

I got the exact same email...gave it the same response that got bounced back too. If someone is dumb enough to fall for that, they deserve to have their bank account cleaned out.

that email was pretty stupid, but I can see where someone with very little computer/internet knowledge might get duped. and, unfortunately, some of the techniques are MUCH more sophisticated than that.

I just got an email from Wells_Fargo and Capital_One. Unfortunately, I'd already cleaned out my account so I could help that nice young man from Nigeria.
