2005 Coach of the Year:
Joseph AuJoseph led Michigan to a 10-2 record and a Big Ten title this year. He also won the Orange Bowl over Oklahoma 38-3. News and Notes: Troy Robertson has retired from his position of defensive coordinator. Darnell Finch, an offensive tackle, has been made academically ineligible for the upcoming season for failing a class. Maurice Duncan, a wide receiver, has left your team because of poor grades this year. Ellis Torelli, a kicker, has been made academically ineligible for the upcoming season for failing a class. Ty Conley, a tight end, has been made academically ineligible for the upcoming season for failing a class. Brandon Samuels, a quarterback, has left your team because of last season's academic problems. *Can it possibly get any worse for us? I need a drink... as I close my email out, I get my coat and hat and head for this small bar close to home. I need some time to think and that place is perfect. Safety, Lester Diaz sees me in the hallway and says, "Coach, I've made my decision... I'm going to stay and play my last year here at Missouri." I crack a smile and head out the door. *On the printer is a fresh copy of the 2006 roster. Last edited by MizzouRah : 01-18-2005 at 10:13 AM. |

ill be breaking this down more later tonight, but 3-4 looks to be best for our team on defense...overall we should be ok, especially with Diaz back(even if he didnt develop much...)

Ticket prices will stay the same for the 2006 season.
On the scheduling, I was wrong. It was Army with the home-away series. Code:

Team Captains: S Lester Diaz and S Toby Stinemetz...Diaz was a given, and out of last year guy Stinemetz hs done better then the others...Stephenson was the most gifted besides Diaz, but has done nothing statistically, and Rose is just starting for the first time. Horton almost got the second spot, and as i write maybe he should have...i just think he benefits from being the #2 LB behind ford as ford gets most of the block...Crap, now i dont know...Rueben might have gotten it too, but now he might not even start...Lets just go with our safties and ride them this year!
Code:
Rose and Stone will start, and del greco will back them up...Anderson and Brown red-shirt...pretty simple to me...Rose could be a pass-rush guy based on what ive seen in the past, so i hope he has a solid year, as on this line we will need it. Winfred Anderson, our stud sacker last year, landed us his little brother...lets hope he does as well as the younger battle did compared to the older. Code:
Whats is there to say here??...Timberlane should start and Logan can back him up in the 3-4...i cant see bars so if Logan is better play him...I dont think you need to redshit headrick...i want toget him out of the program as quick as possible...if hes not smart and popular, we could even cut him and hope to get a better walk-on... Code:
Danner developed nicely thids off season and earned himself a spot in the 3-4 starting line-up. Rueben and Herb are damn close, so go by bars on who should start and which should be the off the bench guy....Hernandez should RS... Code:
Were loaded here, for next year as well....Ford and Horton have to start following their all Big-12 seasons...We cant red-shirt either, so we are looking pretty here this year....certianly fitting into the 3-4 perfectly Code:
Bernie and Wesley have to start...not much to it besides that....not really even a close calll...RS Flannery, and we will see how Sheckton and Martinez do in the nickel and dime...kinda a situation where we need young blood badly, but more on that later Code:
Diaz and Stinemetz...was there ever any question? Anything close to last season would be a great thing...god bless Lester Diaz and Troy MO(Mizzourah!) RS Owen and Streb, and let Glover and Wheeler back them up...you could send Patterson back to CB and we would still be fine...doesnt matter much with him, since he is in his last year and not going to play at S any time soon. Red-Shirts: Code:
Those should all be solid moves....None are really needed, so we should be fine RS them all Potential Roster Moves: Cut DE headrick?? He has 0 skill and a walk-onwould probly be better...just make sure hes not a smart kid(we need em), or popular as it will hurt team spirit if he is... S Pattersson back to CB? he used to be one, maybe he would be better back there....he wont be used at S, and could play at CB....just a thought... Recruiting Needs: DE: 1 guy needed...not desperate, just a roster spot as he most likely wont play more then a year since he is behind Anderson and Brown. DT:1, or 2 if you get rid of Headrick...we just dont have any youth here, but two of our guys will be there for 3 years....we can fill this next year as well, so no biggie. ILB: 1 more...this year really...were looking like we have a nice yearly rotation here OLB:1-2, but they can come next season...1 would be nice this year, but anything works... CB:1 at least this year...another this year or next will be needed S:Were ok here...stud rule applies, but were pretty set here for the future

Heck, with the double wing, you don't even need to recruit a very good quarterback!

I like to refer to this play as the "Okie Doke". We line up on our 18 yard line. We fake two screens and then the quarterback pretends to scramble for his life. Just before he gets sacked in the back of the endzone, we throw it to a receiver at the goalline. From there, he'll run the entire 100 yards of the field for the score. Hey, it worked. ![]()

A field goal to win the game with no time left!! What a win!!!
RB Marlon Prior has another great game and is currently #3 in the nation in rushing. Of course Mo Cable's 9 run blocks help! ![]() Remember this? RB Marlon Prior from Ritenour high school in St. Louis, Missouri has accepted our invitation to attend Missouri next year. Marlon has rushed the ball 226 times for 1409 yards and 11 TD's. He was 9th in the Rivals.com state rankings and ranked #3 by position. This kid can flat out run the football and has that "toughness" about him. Our scout, who is decent in running backs, rates him an 83 out of 100. His strength is gaining extra yardage and his weakness is kick returning. I like the 3-4, it has been working great so far, it's a bend don't break type of defense. Todd Last edited by MizzouRah : 01-20-2005 at 01:20 PM. |

At the press conference, I was flabbergasted.
First of all, I'd like you to meet the #1 rusher in college football... Marlon Prior. His performance was the best I've ever seen on a football field. On defense, we held Oklahoma State to 62 total yards and Rose had 3.5 sacks!! I was reaching for words as I was overwhelmed by the team's performance today. "This team has a special place in my heart after today, they were really psyched today and it showed." "Every thing we've taught them this year has come full circle." As I stepped down from the podium, I felt like an NFL coach who just won the Super Bowl. What a game, I thought as I headed into the locker room to address the team. "Each and every one of you played your hearts out today, and for that I thank you." After the team meeting, I went into my office and told my coaches tonight is on me, let's go and get something to eat... and drink!!!!!! Todd Last edited by MizzouRah : 01-20-2005 at 08:14 PM. |
